This Video is Amazing, I have been to the blue hole to swim. I have always wondered what the divers below saw.. Im inpired to Go diving at the blue hole now! haha thanks for the Vid!
@deaddogblue Thanks! That's nice to say. I've gotten better at video editing and we have a GOPRO HD now. Next time I'll dub in some music instead of the bubble noise. How about some Tool?
Thanks, n3iyr, who is Stella and do you have contact info for her? I've been googling links for the dive site and they claim the temperature is a "constant 64 degrees, " so sounds like no thermocline. I can't get over the visibility! Would love to try to dive it on one of my trips to NM. Thanks again, honeymoon2
@honeymoon2 No, there is no dive shop at least right now. Stella runs a tank fill and gear rental. She may have something if you need it when you get there. Otherwise, you're pretty much on your own. They have been building a dive center for years, but funding ran out. You can call Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce at: 575-472-3404 with any questions.
nice vid! your son is a heavy breather! I am thinking about getting a gopro for diving but for only diving a few times a year, the price doesnt seem worth it. do you use it for anything else?
@footballhb95 Thank you! The reason the bubbles are so loud is I had the volume turned up from some above water filming and forgot to turn it down. You're hearing the wash from the bubbles when they go past the camera. You bet there are many things we film with it. Skiing, Kayaking, Mountain biking and so on. We even put it on a remote control truck. Check out the Golden Whitewater Park Steven filmed. It starts slow, but he does some rolls. The Go Pro is a blast. We're getting the HD version too
@whiteferrett That was a Spongebob Squarepants someone was so nice to leave behind for us. We consider objects not native to Blue Hole trash and clean it up, but that was a "keeper". Thanks for stopping by!
@claytonaguiar1974 This dive was altitude compensated to almost a perfect 100 feet. The measured depth on our guages maxed at 87 feet. My son likes to dive deep, so I took the opertunity to show just how big Blue Hole is compaired to what you see at the surface. Blue Hole is "bell shaped", with the surface being the top of the bell.
On a TUSA IMPREX mask there is a flat area on top of the mask lens. There are two decorative ridges that I sanded flat with a Dremmel. I then used JD WELD to epoxy the mount to the top of the mask. It makes it hands free and out of the way. What you see, the camera sees. Couldn't have worked any better, but the GO PRO HERO eats batteries like candy. Thanks for stopping by. Dive safe! Steven & Glenn Rollins
Thank you. It worked perfectly. It was great to have the camera mounted on top of the SCUBA mask. It showed my exact point of view, and freed my hands like it wasn't there. It's the GO PRO HERO and I HIGHLY recommend it. Thanks for stopping by. Dive safe.
Diving the Blue Hole would be sooo amazing!
