anyone know the significance between the orchestra intro and the philosophy of life or anything like that? my class tried to discuss about it today, but we couldn't get it... help anyone?
saw this film for the first time seven years ago and i've seen it dozens of time. great movie, introductory philosophy, amazing execution for the film
No real PURPOSE to the film but its supposed to get you thinking about what life is, what is death, what is dreaming and is life just a dream. How do you know what what you believe is the truth? Watch it, its really good.
I second everyone who says it's an amazing movie. I saw it first at age 23. Now I'm 30 (ah! I'm so old!) and can see/understand so much more about it. I can also relate it more to what I've lived, what I've seen & missed. It does help you (almost force you) to reflect on your state, your path, kinda like drugs do, but with less risk.
Watch a few clips, you'll see right away if it's the kind of movie you like or not. The moment I'd seen the title, I already knew it was my kind of movie.
i first saw this film when i was 16. now im 17 and i understand so much about it now too. =) i had a sort of state of mind starting at a very young age. when i saw this i was glued to the screen. If only everyone saw and understood this at my age this would be a much more calm, thoughtful world with little worries.
I believe the purpose to Batman and Transformers is for pure entertainment value lol. Although a movie that can make you think, question, understand and wonder while being injected by various emotions, WITH just the dialogue, is worth 100000x more..... well twilight is an exception <3 lol i kid i kid.
I watched this last summer at age 14. One year later, I've decided I can appreciate it more. This excites me so much! I loved this last summer, I'm sure I'll love it more. You cannot imagine the effect this had on me. This has shaped who I am today.
my favourite OST of all time.....fuck it favourite use of a violin of all time, the music of this movie made my heart break and remake a thousand times..its like it was made for me or my type of people whatever that may be.
i like how this film takes place in a dream, u get that feeling cuz of the weird images and the shakyness that gives u the feeling like ur moving in bed while sleeping
anyone know where I can find sheet music for this song? please help me I've searched for months
thank you

i feel like that too...most people find this movie boring and dense but i've always found it ridiculously interesting...
also i found it at a time when i felt kinda like the main character...except it was my actual waking life

Isn't that little girl Linklater's daughter? I thought I remembered hearing that but I never knew if it was true.

Yes I believe it's true. She's credited as Lorelei Linklater. It sounds like a name he would give...
