I feel as though all politicians, are just people, and people are flawed! I do not adhere to all of this hype associated with Barak Obama, or any other person for that matter. I believe that God's authority transcends all other authority!
This is one of the most right on things I've ever heard. I may not have been blessed with this kind of poetic nature, but 100% my thoughts all the same!
what i like about this poem and poet is that it is revealing truth and instead of him just tellin folks "dont vote" he is a truth teller...challenging folks to really look at why they make the decisions they do in this case why they vote the way they do...one who's spirit led doesn't vote for one b/c they are black or whatever...they allow their spirit led conscience to guide them...as Martin Luther said "to go against one's conscience is neither right nor safe"...know why you vote...
In truth, though God did make that happen, those people were doing the will of God! Has they chosen Jesus would there have been a prophecy fullfilled?
You can say that....and you can say those people were wicked doing what Paul spoke about in Romans 9
Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
So I guess it's okay to be a vessel of wrath and vote right?
Ultimately, on these matters, we can conclude that it was within God's Will to have His prophecies fulfilled with the use of both vessels of wrath and vessels of light. This does not necessarily mean that we should willingly be vessels of wrath. Judas Iscariot in a sense was a vessel of wrath that was used by God for the fulfillment of the Scriptures (Matthew 26:56), but Christ states that it was "good were it for that man if he had never been born" in Mark 14:21 in reference to Judas.
I understand what you mean though. These people are all focused on advocating themselves, nobody seems to be focusing on Christ anymore... It's as if the world is dumbing down to his presence, being completely nonchalant to what the Word of God says. I'm glad you pointed this out... It makes all voters think...

One thing I will say is I can't believe someone used that scripture so horribly out of context with Jesus and Barabbas . It's hilarious.

ignorance is no longer an excuse...when you agree with something but then do otherwise...you really haven't agreed

I am referring to Martin Luther, the theologian and church reformer of the late 1400s not to be mistaken with Martin Luther King

Matthew 18:7 says "Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!"
