  • this song moves me in an emotional way few songs do..even tho i don't know what the music of groveskin rock was or is.

  • This song deserves 27 Million Views, not 27 Thousand

  • this song always pops in my head every now and again . often sing all the words .almost

  • From my 30th-anniversary tribute to Sandinista!:

    amazon.com/review/R38PDDLCW4FGOA/

The injection of vocal estrogen courtesy Mick Jones' then-partner Ellen Foley does have the otherwise-rare effect of rendering a band best thought of hitherto as deserving of comradely fraternal handshakes, or perhaps, after a Red wine or three, Brezhnev-meets-Honecker cheekpecks, positively squeezeworthy.

  • Sandinista is my fav Clash album and if you want to put a label on the music I would call it Revolution Rock.

  • reggae punk? Buen tema, no se como puede tener tan pocas visitas.

  • I love this album, regardless of what era people love The Clash for, the beauty of The Clash is they took you through every genre of music, not many groups did that,or do that.I love this song, theres was so much depth to The Clash's music....

  • I agree, one of the best songs off of Sandinista. Eerie, soulful, beautiful.

  • ive always thought of sandinista as a kind of a little secret between the clash and those who love this album. if your one of those people who knows how good this album is then give me a thumbs up.

  • @tctcetb

Consider it done - big thumbs up! Album of incredible scope and depth - almost too much so....

First band I ever saw live, aged 13. Deaf for a week!

  • I love "Sandinista!" I don' t care about all the musically correct conformists.

  • My corner soul maybe is also The Clash music...

  • been listening to this most of the week, just one of the best..

  • Pop punk: they never created a name like that for this style of music.

  • love this song!!

  • grossly forgotten?? where?? always alive in my heart.

  • Long Rock The Clash

  • This song brings tears to my eyes.

  • I adore this song. Sandinista was so underrated. Joe really seems to put his soul into it, beautiful song, beautiful man. Strange how you may never meet someone but they change your life none the less. x

  • Sandinista took Clash fans by surprise after London Calling. Mostly a white fan base, specially outside of London most kids had never heard of dub music. But over the years the album demonstrated its worth once the audiences broadened their taste

  • this is one of the best clash songs of all time. They are truly 'the only band that matters'. RIP Joe Strummer

  • There are some songs that are simply indescribable. There is nothing anyone can say about this that will do it justice. All we can do is listen to it. God, such mastery!!!!

  • Great song : )

  • I love this song, in my opinion,, the best song of sandinista xD

  • Sung with passion.

One of many Clash tunes that has a meaning specific to each listener.

  • Corner Soul is one of the best songs Joe recorded he really puts his full voice and dedication to this song...

The other song Bankrobber gets the same from Joe

RIP ... JS ....thanks for the music and songs over the years

  • Sandinista! is one of the most underrated albums of all time

  • From say white riot to this track joe can adapt his voice to sing with so much passion. Just an awesome talent..RIP xx

  • You're right it's a song I had forgotten how good it was too

  • Is the music of groveskin rock soaked in the diesel of war boys war? Blood is black coal in the face of a judge. Is the music calling for a river of blood?

  • I'm with you my friend they are the best band, and i like the way they had different genres of music in them, Guns of Brixton was different and sounded superb, but for me Sandinista would of been better of as 12 songs 1 album then it would of been so much better, theres a few to many crap songs, and even Strummer in a documentary i saw said it was possibly to long of an album

But its better to have to many songs than not enough so all good :)

  • I know what your sayimng m8 but this was all post punk not the traditional punk- everyone is different i'm sure some people preffered this but for me there earlier work was much better

  • You are of course correct.

Personally I love absolutely all of their work and could never decide what album I like the most.

From punk to country to jazz to rap to gospel, The Clash truly are the greatest band of all time.

  • u r right sir!

  • hi !!!!!!! im so happy to know that there are people how love Sandinista!!!!!!!

great album, it got everything inside,it's perfect. Corner soul, i listen to it almost everyday

  • @AppoCC119 Sandinista pretty much covered all those genres. That's quite an impressive 3-record album!

  • @buderick23 all the clash music is awesome! rather it be their old punk style or dub or rockabilly....its all great! there will never be any band like the clash

  • @buderick23 all the clash music is awesome! rather it be their old punk style or dub or rockabilly....its all great! there will never be any band like the clash

  • Somebody got murdered was one of the best songs on this album, i still prefer their first album because i like the punk sound, this album was as far away from punk as it is-infact i'm suprised people say they are punk most of their stuff is to soft- but still a great band

  • I wouldn´t call it soft as much as musically evolved.

The Clash were always punk, because being a punk isn´t about the music, it´s about the attitude, the style, the ideas, the idealism. And in that The Clash always excelled.

You can play punk music without even being punk, and you can be punk without eveer playing punk music.

  • appo i thought i was the biggest clash geek but jesus fucking christ dude..you have a day job? lmao

  • @AppoCC119 like Suicide. no guitars no drummers no need ffor them its all mindstate.

  • @buderick23 The first two albums plus a host of singles and b sides were what people would think of as " punk " rock. That's why The Clash were a punk band. Out of that they forged " London calling ", which was them trying different musical styles, but still retaining a lot of their sound. Punk was about rebellion.Change. Movement. Not dressing up like everybody else with mohican haircuts and studded leather jackets. I prefer their punk roots like you, but " Sandidnista " is about real politics.

  • @buderick23 The 70s Punk scene was all about variety & evolution, not strict, rigid, definitions. It was about starting with the basic 60s Garage influences and going from there, leading to one of the most creative periods in rock'n'roll history. The limits & rules that modern punk "purists" believe in didn't exist then, which was a good thing, I think.

  • clash at bonds casino new york >> 1981**.

  • if you like the songs on Sandinista find a way to download the clash at bonds casino new york 1982.

Sandinista songs sound a lot better live.

  • Some do indeed. Especially Somebody Got Murdered, the guitar heavy live version is many times better than the recorded one.

But some, like Charlie Don´t Surf, are still better recorded.

But yes, I´ll try and find a bootleg from the Sandinista! era.

  • 100% some of the songs where rushed and not well produced there are many mistakes on the album Sounds of sinners has a few errors in them along with police on my back....some songs on the album though where over produced mag-7 Lose this skin. and charlie dont surf....well come on now what a fucking great song!!!!!

  • Amazing that this song has just recently been posted. For some odd reason, I felt like spinning my Sandinista LP today when I listened to this track for the first time in a few years. Reminding myself of how much I like this song, I gave it at least two more listens. It's incredible to think about how often this song is overlooked among the rest of The Clash's repertoire. Even though this song was released back in 1980, it's lyrics are just as relevant today as they've ever been

  • 24 x bekeken!! Heeft dan echt niemand meer oog en oor voor goede muziek ;-)

Wat een song! Bedankt voor het posten.
