  • I get a charge every time he hits a high note an cuts loose with that vibrato. Incredible As a singer, I'd put him right up there with Merle and Willie.

  • This song has always made me want to cry! too many sad mornings, I guess.

  • Listen to crazy lead guitar between 1:47 & 2:02!

  • @tommym202 good huh? I'm a bass line lover myself......not everybody notices things like this, so it's nice to see someone besides me that does. "smile" they need a little recognition!! phyllis x

  • @tommym202 lol :o)

  • He sang backup on Willie Nelson's Troublemaker and Red Headed Stranger albums, he was 24.

  • This is my favorite Gatlin Brothers song... brings me sad memories of long gone favorite lovers. p.s. I'm a she.

  • love it such soul

  • Still love his beautiful voice after all these years! :-)

  • What a voice!

  • Wow - don't you think Larry needs some voice lessons? LOL. Kidding naturally here. Gee whiz, what a voice - I mean this is true talent if there ever was any. Larry and his brothers are awesome and I love every song they've ever sung. Their great harmony is the best . This song is my very favorite of Larry's and one of the well established country music artists here in my city has sung this one for years - it's his signature song. Thank you for posting this treasure. - Paula

  • Can somebody find and post his song "Gypsy Flower Child"?

  • wow thanks for putting this on this takes me back a few years with some good memories

    thank you

  • Love the falsetto ending in harmony

  • This takes me back to 1977 and feeling the same as this song..Such a bitter sweet time of my life..

  • cool

  • What a voice - mercy. This song is my favorite of all of Larry's songs. He and his brothers are wonderful. A band that plays regularly at our American Legion Post does this song regularly and really wows everyone. Larry was born with such great talent and his unique voice is such a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for posting this. - Paula (PaulinaRena)

  • Just love this song by Larry and the boys. YouTube has me wondering about the ratings. I watch this at least once each day and get a Thank You message for rating it as 5 stars, but the tally count stays stuck at 17. Man, Larry could sing back then, couldn't he!

  • I think this is from a performance over seas possibly Denmark or Germany there were outher country performers on the bill. Possibly 1978 on the year, I have seen this footage before that date it possibly early 79 because Night Time Magic was performed also. 99% of everything Larry performs is written by L.G. 100% of anything realeased as a single was written by L.G.

  • This song is wonderful. I have never heard it before. Does anyone know if Larry wrote it? Saw them in Dallas in early 80s. Larry's voice is amazing. Thanks for posting.

  • This is a wonderful song, Larry is got an amazing voice, it so rich and pure, one of country music's best talents, and also easy on the eyes too.

Does anyone know what year this is from?

    Thanks.

  • Yes, Larry only recorded what he wrote in the early years, not counting some of his gospel recordings, or maybe some collaborations. He didn't start recording other songwriter's material until around the late 80's, if memory serves.

  • Thank you, so much. I have been looking for this for so long, and hoping that someone would post it here. Larry is an amazing singer and songwriter. Makes me proud to live here in Music City.

  • Words and music by Larry Gatlin !977

  • @cchessmaster

Sure was one of those played a lot if you went through a divorce at that time; or in 1980...just ruminating, of course..... :0

  • Some of the greatest talent ever. Larry's voice....the purest ever.

  • Thank you--this is good!
