The guy singing used to be a group called "Christian Death" so its not oh so surprising that he would be associated with something even remotely anti-Christian such as an Elysium Cross. I am fairly certain the female of the duo, Monica Richards, did the cover artwork.
This song (and album) are about Shinto which is a Japanese religion. This song is so powerful and primal. It makes me think of samurai charging into battle.
The Double Cross in this case is a symbol of Abraxis, the Gnostic God of Good and Evil. He is basically a synthesis of YVHV and Satan...a greater and more unfathomable power, the True God that Plato speaks of that totally transcends this world. The Serpent of the Eden Myth (according to the Gnostics) is the Servant of Abraxis as he gave the knowledge of Good AND Evil.
i wanted to go to dragon con last year just for this- but i never could find out exactly what day they were playing, and i couldn't afford a 3-day pass... ;(
Where did you find the image used in the video? The Double Cross Or is a part of the Lithuanian Coat of Arms. Which I also have tattooed on my left arm! :)
@FreakyJP I see... Yeah, I just visited their myspace page and I guess they use the Double Cross in a lot of their artwork. So I take it thats why it came up in your google search.

It is called an Elysium Cross or a water cross, such a cross is frowned upon.

Best track on the album by far ! Percussion is what initially drew me to FaTM some 13 years ago and its still what speaks to me on a visceral level.
