  • it was odd that as soon as the song kicked in to American Woman, you showed Julie Christie who is british!

  • i miss the good old days of women having topless screaming rolls in horror films, and fantasy adventure films. that is what makes a corny movie into a great movie. topless scenes, surprise shower scenes, and the sort. what sort of garbage is hollywood coming out with today? not a single boob to be seen, it's a travesty and we should gather our forces and protest, boycott and find ways to support independant film makers who still believe in the value of a topless scream queen

  • An interesting montage. But is missing the theme and the message! Just like in the movies of today.

  • hi thanks for sharing. I love the idea. I saw jackie brown recently and now am a big fan of Pam Greer. If I could change anything, I would not use american woman as tempting as it is. I think I'm Free or anything else

  • wonderful!

  • Awesome!

  • Fascinating! Congratulations! Thanks. Hugs.

  • Streisand is not an "american woman" in YENTL. Still, this is one of your better efforts. I don't care for the overused song, but somehow you made it work. Liked that you had THE STEPFORD WIVES and KANSAS CITY BOMBER in there. Good choice of clips and editing. Would have loved to have seen Raquel as MYRA BRECKINRIDGE.

  • Haaa....I love it. Thanks. Marilyn.

  • There all almost here...nice vid.

  • Great video. Really enjoyed your choice of clips.

  • Great job , as usual , Billy =)

  • Amazing video. Women rule. If only our culture could allow them to believe in themselves.... Thanks for posting!

  • Fantastic job with this video! So many good ones here..

  • ALIENS ! Nice.

  • Excellent montage of some real classics. Love it!

  • You did a lot of work collecting the movie clips, however,The hollywood studios themselves, often times make American women appear stupid & ridiculous, unlike many millions who are very hard working, intelligent, people!

  • Great, i love it! Tump up!

  • What's the movie with with Goldie Hawn & the blind neighbor? Love it but can't remember!

  • oo, superbes ces femmes

  • Boy, there are so many roles. I think it would be hard for me to pick out some. ;)

  • Great job making this video enjoyed it. :-)

  • This is why I love your videos! I'm watching & smiling and waiting & waiting....& then, there's the one I've been waiting for at the very end---Sigourney!!! Another fav! :-)

  • Excellent...really enjoyed this one :)

  • Great video!

  • superlativo...

    complimenti,

    ottima musica..

    splendide immagini...

    ciao Thomas,

    grazie, francesco.-

  • superb video billy..great montage..and love that number

  • I think the premise is too broad.

    Ooops, bad pun.

Has the impact of women in film lead or lagged behind their impact in society?

Has it initiated specific changes in society or merely reflected someone's opinion?

A little edification would be nice and not just a slice of Film-101 at a Community College orientation.

  • Great video. I think that we can consider Julie Christie and Maggie Smith as two American Women. After all, they built a lot of their fame on the american movie.

  • Perfect body of work, like that his eye, clinical

... are always reinventing the same paragraph

  • Nice choice of pic's Rick! Terrific music to go with your always interesting flick's!

  • 3:26, 3:35, and 3:42 what movies are those?

  • @BangBangItsMeEllie Respectively, "Boys Don't Cry," "American Beauty," and "Aliens."

  • Yes they are an essential contribution to the indrusty --look wher it got Oprah, Grace Kelly and the most beautiful woman in the world Sopjia Loren

  • Yes they are an essential contribution to the indrusty --look wher it got Oprah

  • when I look at video's like this I think ok it would be nice to know all the names to these movies. Cause I don't know the name of all of them. Just some of them.

  • bad fukkin ass!

  • Wow, Totally Outstanding Rick!!!!!..Thankyou ..Anita..:)

  • Awesome!!! Right on! Kali gives up thumbs up!!!! \m/-.-\m/

  • your killing me !!! nice video, also I love this tune !!!

  • Pretty good Rick... I would have gone for a little more nudity, LOL! Okay, I'm kidding! But, well, I have an appreciation for those aspects as well. I suppose in that respect, I'm but a typical male. But seriously, your salute was very well put together! I especially liked the early Goldie Hawn, juxtaposed the later, more mature Goldie Hawn. Both are magnificent! Bravo!

    Peace,

    \A/

  • FABULOUS five stars!

  • Magnífico y Exquisito Video!!!

    Felicidades!...5.★☆★☆★

    besitos y feliz día

    ♥ Anita♥

  • Great *********

  • FUCK YEAH!!

  • I see your up to more good stuff. always a feast. God bless

  • Love the video and song, but where is Bette Davis? She fought a long while before getting any roles which let her shine. Her roles showcased strong, intelligent, beautiful women.

  • Wow, I love your choices... xox

  • Outstanding!!

  • Great!

  • Just AMAZING, Rick!!! Thanks for this wonderful tribute!

  • The most actresses in unforgettable roles are from late sixties and seventies films in this clip and i like that !

  • Women all over the world still have very little to say and lower wages for the same work - plus they often are taking care of family and kids and a man at home --there is still 99 per cent more needed to be done !! Thank you for paying attention to this !

    Great !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice video - liked so many of those shows and the music was fantastic!

    Bev

  • Amazing video, as usual. Would love to see Anna Karina and Giulietta Masina in it, but since these were mostly american actresses, you're pardoned. And you remembered Cloris Leachman, which makes it even better. :)

  • Sadly I don't get on Youtube as much as I used to, Rick... and I sure do miss your Videos. But I saw this one promoted in one of my emails, and well... it's about Women, so I had to take a look. :)

The Films and the Women you chose... the Moments, big and small, robust and bawdy, intimate and vivacious, meaningful and vapid... All Brilliant.

The Music fits like a glove.. casting a haunting glow on all the images you expertly edited. I adore what you do, when you do what you do, Rick.

  • ;-)

so you are not afraid of woman with a mind

but Mrs. Robinson is not my kind of woman

seducing the friend of your daughter? no no

  • So lovely, and so many great roles here! Excellent!

  • Ass Brass and Class. If you watch this more than once it belongs in your favorites.

Excellent choice of music, clips and actresses. Love to see a 1940's and 50's version of this. Well done Billysscreeningroom2.

  • I finally started to get Jennifer Beals water splashing image out of my head after all these years and then I watched this video and kurplunk it's back in !

    Awsome video!

  • Pam Grier and Sigourney Weaver proved that women can be as badass action stars as their male counterparts. Endlessly quotable ones at that!

  • Amazing editing job here, Rick! These scenes flow perfectly to The Guess Who tune! Nice choice in subject matter too. Any chance that you'll do a similar vid to the ladies in earlier & foreign films?

  • whow, big stars here .....

this is a good good work, but sorry the musik not so....

  • Growing up as a boy in the late 80's Ellen Ripley was one of my heroes. One time during recess I reenacted the famous Power Loader scene from Aliens, complete with "get away from her you bitch!", needless to say I spent that recess in the dog house. Girl Power!
