  • can f35 Hover and turn to fly ?

  • harrier...................

  • R.I.P F-16 you will be missed ;'(

  • waste of money for a suckish product

  • @MsHatetheworld ...Suckish product according to whom? Have you any idea of 5th generation technology and what it could do to help America's air sovereignty and air superiority?!? go do some research. lol. :)

  • Dumb question (maybe), there's a large flap behind the cockpit and two small flaps behind it. I believe the large flap allows air to be sucked into the fan. What do the two small flaps do? Extra air for the engine?

  • @Hynee

That seems to be correct, I can imagine that it helps the engine not to take in hot gases when hovering close to the ground. Search for F-35B_cutaway_with_LiftFan.jpg on google. There is a top view pic that is quite good.

  • @MastaMag I actually looked at that pic (and the wiki article) just after viewing this video, but I couldn't think of any good reason for another jet intake, but hot gases or the jet intake stealing air from the fan outlet make good sense as reasons to have a top jet intake.

  • @Hynee

This exactly. Hot jet gas injestion has been a HUGE issue with all versions of the Harrier.

  • @Hynee

The large "flap" is the cover to the lift turbine. The two smaller folding doors are bypass doors.

  • cod harrier!

  • how does it do that ?????

  • @WhereIsTheBeefBro The engine outlet is pointed down, and there's a driveshaft from the engine that connects to a fan just behind the cockpit. That allows it to hover like a helicopter, but it uses a lot of fuel.

  • That is sexy as hell <3

  • This plane is a hunk of shit on purpose. They don't want to give the int. community F-22s. lol

  • Mexican technology....

  • @yonpolite LOL!

  • I live just outside of pax river--probably seen/heard this thing flying around my house :D

  • Dear santa....

  • lockheed did it again.

i loved the harrier but this is even better!

  • @musicjesus95 this wouldnt be around without the harrier, and no other jet would be without the jet engine

    both british inventions :P

  • @BringEllisTheHoriZon If it weren't for the Americans, you'd be in a concentration camp.....Speaking German..!!! : )

  • @PERIZ99 yeah, but for allies, they take all the glory for the small amount they did to help the british in europe, we only needed them for the last part of the war really, but we wouldnt have won it without the americans so yes, your right, apart fromt he concentration camp, if i was taken in by the nazis, i would do what i was told, im not a jew, and hitler killed himself and most of the nazis hated hitler by the time he killed himself anyway so we might have won the war without the americans

  • @BringEllisTheHoriZon I must disagree with you. According to my grandfather, who was a Norwegian immigrant living in London and a conscript in the Royal Navy at the time, things were looking wretchedly grim grim for the Brits. He mentioned many a time England would have definitely lost the war, had it not been for American maritime and air intervention.

  • @PERIZ99 yeah, they probably would have, but it wasnt something anyone can tell would or wouldnt have happened with any accuracy, hitler could have done something stupid which made the brits win or something, but yeah, we won it quicker because of our allies... which should have actually been in europe a lot sooner

  • @BringEllisTheHoriZon jet aircraft were invented by the Germans...for use on the British

  • @paintball321 wrong, it was first invented by the british and we also had the first jet engine completed 2 years before the germans, they built the first plane and flew it before the british, yes but thats a different matter

learn your facts next time :)

  • @BringEllisTheHoriZon Germans were far more advanced than the British, British just got lucky on behalf of the Americans. Germans had the best weapons and machine of WWII ;) Just sayin' ;)

  • @Obituaryreader yep but they didnt know how to use it as efficiently, its not how big or powerful it is, its how you use it and how many kills you get

  • @Obituaryreader oi. don't go saying the Americans won it. the Americans ABSOLUTEEY PWNED IT!!

  • @CurlyBlakey Yeah, they used Aimbot ;p

  • @BringEllisTheHoriZon If not them. It would be probably a German or an American.

  • @FREAK9364 actually it would have been the russians, not america or germany :)

  • Awesome!

  • I just bought 2 of them

  • It's Called VTOL. Vertical Take Off Landing. It is a breakthrough in aviation. Because now, the plane, can use a fraction of the runway, if any, to takeoff and/or land. This is especially useful for the Navy and the Marine branch of the military, where space is limited.

  • @FREAK9364 its actually STOVL. says on the tail. must only be able to land vertically

  • @SuperMcfly12 STOVL is almost the same thing. Short Takeoff or Vertical Landing.

  • @FREAK9364 i know lol. that's why i said it must only be able to land vertically.

  • @FREAK9364 A "breakthrough" that's only been around since the 1928

  • @flynmid Yup, good to know. Look up the definition of breakthrough, it's correct.

  • he just made himself an easier target to hit

  • huh

  • I wonder what the Wright Brothers would say if they saw this...

  • THAT IS "AWESOME"!!!!!!!!!

  • i want one.....now.

  • wow that's strange!
