A guide friend actually did show me a way to make it faster; instead of threading the tag through the loop after you've passed the loop over the hook end, just thread the tag first while it is still in your hands. That tag will keep the loop from unspinning and make it even easier to pass over the end of the hook.
wow 20 years of fly fishing and you come along to rock my world.... thanks man it will make things alot more simple and time consuming ..... I just have to figure out the rotation of the fingers to determin the number of rotations of the fly line and then I've got it down....... I like 5 to 8 turns depending on the fly and line.......
