  • Do you know of any info on metal injection molded parts? Are the non mjm parts forged?

  • @sailwed1 A google search of metal injection molding will reveal the process. As for the S&W, the gun is literally chock full of MIM parts from the factory. Only the frame, slide, barrel and trigger are excused from the list. If replacing them is of interest to you, as it was for me, then doing so is very expensive. In addition to MIM and Forged parts, some 1911 parts are also cast (as is MIM), but the traditional casting process is different than the MIM process.

  • @JewBagelBites I uh...don't understand.

  • great vid, lots of good info!

  • Nice review - very detail oriented. 2 nice specimans of 1911's. I work as an instructor and have found the S&W's to be very durable and accurate. I've less experience with the Colts, but know of many fine shooters that use them quit well. You'll enjoy both for years. I've carried 1911's commander sized pistols for years and agree with your analysis regarding weight for CC gun. to others that are not sold on the 1911 design - think about it for a minute. 100 years of service...

  • Two sweet 1911.

    Glock n Load,

  • nice man.

  • @NIKON777 Thanks bro. They are gorgeous guns and a lot of fun to shoot, but to be honest it will be a long road before I can trust them the same way I trust Glock, HK, and older SIGs.
