  • I am not sure if you check all of your questions on here but I am new to lucky bamboo, have always thought they were pretty so I thought I'd get one a try. The first question I have is, does it matter if I used purified water or tap water? And the second question is, is it ok that my room has bright florescent lighting?

  • these are great videos. you totally crack me up when you start with "Lucky bamboo is not really a bamboo" I see you are as tired as hearing that as i am. I sell all sorts of bamboo plants (not lucky) check out my videos too. thanks

  • Mine doesn't grow at all I leave it in magic jelly/crystal soil/orbeez

  • Mine is growing so fast! I like to change the water every week and fill it in with bottled water Im going to follow your advises! thankyou!

  • i have the same printer as u!

  • Great video. Very helpful. Thanks!

  • Hauntingsunset I'm sorry! He never answer did he.

  • I cut mine about a week ago from a stalk that had been cut in half. My stalk, but the cutting is still bright green. I have her in a small vase with water beads but I made sure to have about half an inch of water in the bottom because I didn't think she would take water from the beads without roots. It still hasn't rooted and I'm worried about it but I did everything in your video right. Is there anything else I should do? I used bottled water and she's in a room with two windows.

  • @hauntingsunset *My stalk died

  • Thanks!!!!!!! Your video was a big help to me.....I've been collecting lucky bamboos for years....I gave a lot away. Today I Found Roots! And I can't wait to put them in dirt in a few weeks or so.....Thanks again for showing this video :)

  • Hi, I need a little help if you have a moment. First I want to say thank you for all your very informative videos. I'm so grateful.

So, my lucky bamboo is about a foot tall and 1/3 of it went completely yellow and is shriveled up. I removed it from its original pot because it was going yellow at the tip, and put it in a tall glass of distilled water. Hoping to rehydrate it but it got extremely worse. What should i do? Should i cut off the dead part? Any advice will be appreciated. :)

  • Pls, can you tell me what happens if i remove all of

the leaves from the root to "near the top" . Just a few leaves on the top are staying' ... will he grow up better than with leaves or something... Also, pls tell me, what happens with stem width in that situation...how to make it more width... just time or....

    Great videos !! Thank u !!

  • I've had a stalk of Bamboo that my mom had given me for at least a year now, it's grown maybe a few inches and then stopped, I kept it only in water, I'm assuming the growl process happens when I plant it in soil? I'm going to be planting it in a pot, and I watched your video on planting the cuts you make, but mine I have right now is really small, should I plant it in soil and wait? Also, do you rotate/fertilize your soil? If so, what soil/fertilizer do you use?

  • when i cut the lucky bamboo and put wax on the top. a few weeks later i noticed that the top of the stalk started yellowing/rotting. what did i do wrong?

  • I love this plant. It's so cool. :D My only problem is going to be where I'm going to buy all the new pots for my lucky bamboo.

  • where do you buy ur bamboos?

  • can i use a vase with only water or do i need gravel in it

  • Thank you very much. Your video is very helpful, although I have a few questions. How much light should I give the bamboo? Would it be wise to cut all of the leaves off of the stalk and leave it bare? How fast will the bamboo grow once I make the cutting and place it in the water? How fast does bamboo grow in general? Thank you.

  • You have helped me in 3 minutes what most videos try to cover in about 6 to 10 minutes. Thank you very much.

  • So if I cut the stalk in half, so my top half has the leaf on it, and the bottom half has the roots, both pieces will be fine to keep growing? The bottom with the roots will grow new leafs on its own and the top with the leafs will grow new roots?

  • you should do one on shaping the bamboo trees cause i like to do that but i use rocks and some of them just broke off and i like to shape them really bad if you could help me with any info ill be appreciated

  • @LuckyBambooExpert About how long after cutting/planting should I expect to see roots form?

  • what do you mean by "put some wax on the top"?

  • thank you!

  • Hi I only bought one lucky bamboo and it had one root the lady at the shop told me to cut off 2 inches off the bottom so now it has no roots! What do I do!!

  • can you plant lucky bamboo outside? I would like to use a bamboo to plant along my fence as coverage (privacy), and my backyard has two large oak trees, hardly any sun gets through. If I can plant outside, please supply me with suggestions. Thank you.

  • If you use a rooting hormone can you get the stalk to produce roots?

  • can i give my lucky bamboo plant Miracle Gro

  • You are very good! The video is super-helpful! Thanks! :)

  • lol thats cool u have it in a wine glass not to be rude has it ever fallen over like on an accident just wondering

  • I laughed so hard after hearing the first sentence of this video. I know the line because I previously watched a few other videos on lucky bamboos.

  • awesome

  • It would be nice if you did a full tutorial propagating video so we can see exactly how it's done. That would be so very cool!!! I just don't want to cut it wrong and kill my lucky bamboo, then i would be sad :'(

btw, the stalks wont grow unless it has the leafs on top??? that's no fun..

anyway... great vids I just wants see it hands on like your crazy chopping vid!

  • can they call the lucky bamboo the money plant or something

  • great tutorial

  • very well explained, great video 5stars.

  • Great vids. I got 2 questions. I am wondering how long it would take for a "leafy growth shoot" that is currently about 3 inches tall on a stalk to get to around a foot.

Also, after you cut off the leafy growth, will another one grow in the same spot on the original stalk, or is it necessary to cut the stalk itself so new growths form in another spot?

    Thanks again.

  • Wawoo, okay, I've been looking for forever and a day on how to trim my bamboo plant and nothing has helped, save for this, thanks a bunch:-)

My bamboo has been growing really slow... It still looks the same as when I got it (though the "growths", as you called them, are getting taller), so is that because I got it at a store and they did something to make it not get larger? Or am I just not patient enough? lol

    Thanks for the video!

  • how old is yours

  • I have been looking all over the internet on how to properly propagate bamboo, and found nothing helpful or easy to understand. Your video answered all my questions, thank you. In regards to the bamboo you rooted that is standing behind your printer, how long did it take for the trunk to get that thick?

  • Awesome ! thanks so much.

quick question if you don't mind, i have had some bamboos for a while and made the mistake to leave them too long in direct sun and the new steams became yellow and dry... anyway i can recover them ?

    thanks

  • your videos are amazing! thank you so much!!

  • Thanks so much :)

  • great star 5 video thanks

  • Thanks so much :)

  • hey thanx to you i attempted to propagate my lucky bamboos ...and guess wat in two weeks times one of the stems is already growing roots :)....but the other one seems to be rotting ...how do i prevent it from rotting ?

  • Sorry to hear that one of your stalks are rotting, but that usually happens when the tool used to cut the growth off is not clean and the stalk becomes infected. It almost guaranties that you will loose the stalk. So just make sure you use clean tools next time. Happy growing!

  • ohh thats disappointing ...but out of two stalks only one is rotting ..so i guess its ok...thanks for the reply !

  • I just got one of these in a bouqeut of flowers. The stem has gone yellow, will it be ok?

  • Usually when the stalk turns yellow, that's an indication of dirty water or to much sunlight. But to answer your question, its practically impossible to bring it back to life. Sorry for your loss.

  • Finally a helpful video for lucky bamboo!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the fantastic videos :)))

  • Great video - thanks for sharing!!!

  • This is a very good video. I keep mine in "dirty water". I take regular bottled water and i take some regular soil from our garden. And mine grows good. I am going to try propagating. Mine propagated from the bottom and i just got that one and i will see if it will work.

  • Thank you....I will try the water propagation.

  • Awesome Video!
