Good review. Morrison as you said, may not be everyone's cuppa of tea, but I enjoyed his Animal Man & Doom Patrol run among others. Love Quitely's art, but I must also mention the colorist on that book--they certainly added to make the artwork pop.
@ThatDaveDude1 Yes there is check out Ebay or Amazon's used books. It's a cheaper way to read them for sure. You might be able to find the individual issues on Ebay too for a modest price.
how is the binding on this book? it looks like it's uneven in this video. i don't know what that's called, but it looks like some books that have breaks in the spine so that some pages are ?grouped? together; like if you were to let the book naturally open, are there certain pages it would alway fall on because of the binding?

@masonTganes Mason. First, you should look into a car with better gas mileage. That sounds awful. Secondly I wouldn't pay full price for these big books. I think I ended up getting this book for about 60 bucks. Is it expensive ... well yes. But 40 dollars less than the cover price.
@masonTganes This book isn't just a collected edition. Its a premium item thats meant more as a collector's piece. Its pricey because its printed on high quality paper, is enlarged over the normal print size, is hardcover and collects all 12 issues plus the bonus features. Its heavier and more expensive to distribute. If you just want to read the story without breaking the bank you can buy the paperback collection, which is split into two books and can be bought for 20 bucks in total.

Good review. I am a lifelong Superman fan and this series brought me back to the comic shops after over a decade's absence.
I'm definitely buying this edition now.

Seriously once you go past $20- $30 on ANYBOOK- you are basically saying this isnt for the mass public but the ultra nerdy people who have no life.
Looks like a fantastic book but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too over priced.
Has anyone looked outside and noticed we are living in a new GREAT DEPRESSION?? i spend $60 a week on gas alone. Im gonna spend $70 on a freakng book?

Besides there cheaper versions of this book, you dont HAVE to buy the Absolute Edition,
And lastly, if you're spending 60 bucks a week on gas, something is terribly wrong there
