I was just wondering o.o I'm not even Pure Land >:

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses

    It´s a sect of Buddhism o.o

  • @EnvyAbomination i wanted to war with u and u showed me loving kindness :)

  • he he. you are still here.

then you are the bigger lunatic. you are my slave. you come every where i go. LOL.

  • Somewhat frustrating to listen to. It seems Buddhism just won't directly declare what our destiny is after death.

  • ........because you create your own "destiny " after death.....

  • DEREKinNYC. Buddhism is a very profound religion and Buddha spent 45 years teaching Buddhism and it covers 84,000 aspect. Be patient and you'll find the jewel within you. I felt the same way like you even though I started 40+ years ago until last year, it started to bear result. my effort did not go to waste. The is the most wonderful experience I have in life, nothing can compare to that feeling.

  • We have to cultivate THE TEN PARAMI /PERFECTIONS 1) Generosity 2 )Morality (5 precepts has to be pure) 3) Non-attachment 4) Wisdom 5) Energy 6) Patience, tolerance and forbearance 7) Honesty 8) Determination 9) Loving-kindness (metta) 10) Equanimity
  • Lord Buddha claims that our life is uncertain, death is certain. Our destiny is uncertain and rebirth is certain. Unless we realise the ultimate truth and attain Nibbana, we will be reborn again and again in samsara. Few of us can be reborn as human when we die. Most of us will end up in 4 suffering realms. They are demon, ghost, animal and hell realm. To be reborn as a human one has to keep the 5 precepts and avoid 10 evil deeds.

  • The 5 precepts :

    1) Refrain from killing

    2) Refrain from stealing

    3) Refrain from sexual misconduct

    4) Refrain from lying

    5) Refrain from intoxicants (drinks and drugs)

They can be in thoughts, words and actions.

  • As a Buddhist, our aim is not to be reborn as a human or in heaven. They are impermanent. We strive to attain Nibbana. That is to be a Buddha or arahat. Ths is a blissful mental state that is eternal. There are 4 stages of arahatship (sainthood):

    1) Stream-enterer or sotapan(Maximum 7 rebirth)

    2) Once-returner or sakadagami (to be reborn once)

    3) Non-returner or anagami (to be reborn in divine realm and attain Nibbana after that)

    4) Arahat (Nibbana-enlightenment)

  • In order to attain Nibbana (A blissful mental state that one can experience this life itself and will not suffer from rebirth again) One has to keeps our 5 precepts. Walk the eightfold paths:

    1) Right view (Have to practise Vipassana meditation to achieve this

    2) Right Thought /intention

    3) Right Speech

    4) Right Action

    5) Right Livelihood

    6) Right effort

    7) Right Mindfulness

    8) Right Concentration ( 4th level of jhana, Have to practise samatha meditation to achieve this

  • To avoid THE TEN FETTERS: 1) Personality belief -sakkaya ditthi 2) Skeptical doubt Vicikiccha 3) Clinging to rites and rituals 4) Sensous craving (Kama-raga) 5) Ill-will -Patigha 6) Craving for fine material existence (Rupa-raga) 7) Craving for fine immaterial existence (Arupa-raga) 8) Conceit (Mana) 9 ) Restlessness 10) Ignorance (Avija)
  • Most importantly we have to understand 4 noble truth:

    1) Life is suffering

    2) The origination of suffering

    3) The Cessation of suffering

    4) The path leading to cessation of suffering (Eightfold path)

We have to reflect constantly on impermanence (anicca), Suffering (Dukkha) and Non-self (Anatta). The purpose is not to cling on but to let go. Keep learning, investigate and parctise the teachings in our daily life, meditate, reflect, contemplate and finally realise the ultimate truth. Blissful !

  • If you need to ask anymore questions, just feel free to ask. Without asking question, you get nowhere and end up very frustrated!
