Whoever is saying it was a 'time killing' show needs to get their facts right. From what I remember the show was produced by Foxtel and therefore kinda cheap for one of the Free to Air Networks like TEN to purchase. Either way this show helped TEN constantly win daytime ratings..

Stan Zemanek was just a clever "Showman" just like Rikki Lake, Jerry Springer etc. He took an angle, and ran with it. I believe most of his bravo was fake, acting, and just an "act". It makes for good entertainment, because there is nothing we love more, it's CONFLICT.

He forgot all about respecting his fellow human beings simply because he became somewhat famous and wealthy. First of all I do not think that letter was written by a nine year old. I do not think it was at all nice to throw a book at Jan - she was simply giving her opinion like all the other ladies on the pannel. I think she got another book thrown at her in a episode onec.

I also think it was good to have Jan on the panel as someone who had compleaty diffrent views to Stan.

Stan Zemanek was a very very nasty piece of work. I watched this show numerous times and he always treated Jan Murray so badly. How on earth his family could tolerate him is a mystery to me, I would have been so ashamed to be associated with such a nasty spiteful petty man. No matter that he may have been a good loving husband, his character was always on public display and no wonder so many loathed him.

@darepow While this fight certainly was "for real", as were many others, a lot of the terrible things he said or did to the ladies on this program were just for show and the ratings, and he was close friends with many of them. Even he and Jan Murray patched things up in the end. I can understand why a lot of people didn't like him because of what they saw, but all of these beauties will attest to what a nice man he really was behind the scenes.

I remember watching bits this show sometimes, but I couldn't stand that Stan Zemanek.. Jeannie Little was funny though. She loved the gay guys but boy did she also have some intolerant views as well!

@AussieRoadshow They had their good days but Jan certainly copped it from him the most. She would always try and be nice to him. Off the show they made up and had a good relationship long before Stan's death. I must be the only one who liked Stan as well... thought he was absolutely hilarious.

Jeannie came out with some funny crap (machine guns on the beach to stop boat people); Prue MacSween was another good one for that stuff. My favourite was always Ita though.

As a kid I loved this show when Stan was host and even in hindsight with knowledge on how much of a terrible person he was, you have to admit the brilliance of having a misogynist right-wing shock jock host a panel with people like Jan.
