I just lost my maternal grandmother, she was the last grandparent living. This song has given me much peace. I miss her and loved her very much but I know I will see her and Grandpa again.
hi, i'm also playing organ in my church and i think you're pieces are lovely and i'm learning a lot listening to you play. just curious, what are you playing on your left hand? is it whole chords or single notes (piano style)?
Oh this is just lovely! I miss the sounds of the organ, we no longer have one at my (Methodist) church, so going to Mass with my in-laws is always a treat. I'm singing this song at an aunts funeral tomorrow and was looking for something to practice with so thank you very much!
First of all let me say that this is absolutely brilliant! You play the organ beautifully! This song was played at my aunt's funeral and is a truly inspirational song. Where can I obtain a copy of the arrangement you used?
My father died very quickly this year, and when I hear this song, I hope that this is how it was for him in the end; that Jesus was there with him, helping him transition from life to death. My dad was the sun to me, and my sun has gone away. I miss him so and this song brings me closer to him.
I really wish we had this one and "Here I am Lord" in our Lutheran Hymnals! When we met with the priest to plan my fiance's dad's funeral which was Catholic I asked for 'Beautiful Savior' for one of the songs & I was a little surprised when they said they didn't have it in their hymnals. Luckily the Choir had it but still surprised.
God has given me so much in the last few months. I thank add praise him for that. When i listen to this song i always tear up because it reminds of HIM. Praise to you LORD †††
I wish to pray for all the Catholic Priest and Nuns. May God keep them faithful, and His church to grow in goodness and truth! And all Lovers of God to have a closer relatonship with Him.
Funerals are for people to "let it all go"..songs like this bring it out in many people....it's okay to mourn.....open ur soul for the deceased ! God Bless!
You still have that calling. There are all kinds of different ministries. Preaching is just one of MANY. You are still a minister no matter if you have a license or not.
Every time I feel down, I come back again and again to this video and it picks me up! You play very well ... such an inspirational song. Thanks for sharing!
I love this song. I take the words to give me courage in facing all things in life. When it states "I will give you rest" I take it to mean: He will give rest when a believer is tired of all difficulties he/she has to face in life and seeks God for refuge.
Because funerals, while sad for us, are joyful for the departed. They are joined with Christ, and are no longer subject to the torment of this world. They are reborn in the Most High, and for this, we should rejoice.
I actually am joyful if the person is Heavenbound. I don't shout and holler, but I am happy. The ones where I truly cry are the people who rejected Jesus.
@godsfiddler The same for me,GF.... I was sitting with a 19 yr old in the Gulf once, sharing MREs an her ketchup, and Jesus. She told me she didn't believe anymore as a Catholic,....days later, she rolled onto a landmine an died an hour later. It haunts me today,
Lance: You have used your Spiritual Gifts to the service of the Lord. You are a blessing to us all who appreciate your talent and beautiful music. I grew up in a very traditional Lutheran style of worship and love it. The traditional hymns are my favorites, played to full swell on my church's Berghaus pipe organ. Thank you again for sharing with us. You're a remarkable individual. Blessings!
I sing at my church leading the music at the early morning mass, and I love the power that the song gives to all those who sing, but most improtantly the power of prayer. This song is amazing and I wish that it could be played on the pipe oragn like yours. All we have is an electronic keyboard, but the lady who records the songs for me just puts it on the piano.
This song was at my grandma's funeral just yesterday; i really like it but it makes me very sad. ): Good job playing the piece though. RIP Grandma. <33
This was my wifes choosing at her funeral. We had no one but and old fellow with a guitar to play. It was cool, but your remdition would have been so much more fitting. She deserved so much better.
this was at my grandmother's funeral, too in 2005. She passed on on the feast of Our Lady of Aprecida at 5 'till 3 in the afternoon. Every time I hear that played, it chokes me up.
So sad that the traditional Hymns are disappearing from the Church, many times because they can not find an Organist or afford one, I often played for free. Not taking request any longer but I will see what I can do †
This is one of my favorites and you play it so well. I played for the church for 14 years and can no longer do so and miss it. God Bless you for all your wonderful playing and the time you spend sharing it with others. Blessings........

One of my all time favorites. Sounds so good on the organ. Thank you, you did an excellent job. Not jazzed up, just traditional and holy the way the creator meant it-hard to find stuff like that these days.
Words of Thanks from Saint Cecilia's RC Church, Bklyn, NY.
We should start a fund to get you a larger organ. We have a 3 manual RODGERS hybrid, we dont have the funds to tune the pipes, so its strictly electronic.

It's hard to add to all great compliments you've received on your video, but thanks for all your great work and making these hymns available. "Be Not Afraid" is especially meaningful to be because it was played and sung beautifully at my dad's funeral just over 26 years ago.

This is a beautiful hymn and it is done by a very beautiful person. Even though I couldn't see your face you are beautiful inside! Thank you for this beautiful music!

somehow I was expecting "God will take care of you". I have found out that anytime my faith has faltered, a hymn helps bring it back.

A very wonderful rendition of this beautiful catholic hymn! This has always been a great message from the gospel - fear not - be not afraid! Keep the music coming . . .
