  • the Great AJAX!

  • fuck it, thats not how Ajax died. He went mad when he was cheated out of achilles golden armour. In a last act of reason he chose to kill himself instead of running amok and killing his comrades.

  • ajax looks like the swedish meal time guy on steroids

  • What's up with all the archer scenes? They're interrupting the fight and it was never like that in the DvD version

  • the shields are wrong

  • u never hit horses in battle

    u always hit the rider

  • @legokid918 Other way round mate.

  • @Linear500 ok

  • The film changed Ajax's fate, he wanted Achilles armor but Odysseus received it. That night in a drunken state attempted to attack his comrades but was deceived by goddess Athena to killing a flock of sheep. Once he'd sobered up in the morning he was overwhelmed and so ashamed on what he'd a attempted to do he fell onto his sword ending his life.

  • the Greeks did't fight in this way.

  • why do I get so agressive watching this

  • Ajax was invincible because when he was a baby Hercules wrapped his lion skin around him except his armpits. So when he fought Hector nobody won and they exchanged gifts.hector gave him his sword and Ajax his belt. When Achillees died the Greeks decided to give his weapons to the bravest but instead of Ajax Odysseus took them. After days of rage and seeing where it got him heput Hector's sword under his armpit and fell on it.So he ended his life undefeated but in shame...

  • @TheKazanokefalos what are you talking about?? achilles never dies in Iliad!?

  • @itsgonnabelegendable Oh yes he does!I am Greek and we had Iliad and Odyssey in school friend.Have't you watched the film btw?He was killed by Paris when he shot him in the heel. That is why we say today "Achilees's heel"

  • its like a guitar battle every body stops to see how good they are

  • He fucking bitch slapped that horse with a shield :O

  • ajax fighter to the end

  • good god, Hector killed Michael Myers

  • He is strong. Just like the cleaner.

  • What is this shit? Ajax was definitely a better warrior than Hector.

  • ajax amsterdam :P

  • Of course Ajax would've won if this were real, the dude's a fucking mutant

  • You are talking about a guy that used a ships' sail as a lance as if it were a regular size spear Ajax could not have died at the hands of Hector they just adapted the movie to magnify the viewer's perspective towards how great Hector was

  • In the Iliad they say even Achilles wouldn't fight Ajax one on one, and doesn't even die until he off's himself.

  • @Hellstrike Correct. Ajax also duels Hector twice, and survives both fights. Hector afterwards is killed by Achilles and when the time comes to the fate of his armor, Ajax competes for it and is denied. He then uses the sword that Hector gifted him with after one of their fights to end his own life.

  • @Hellstrike Yeah, apparently Odysseus beat him in a wrestling match and that completely shattered his mind....

  • @Hellstrike There's also not nearly as much stripping in the movie haha

  • Wenn ich mir den Ajax angucke muss ich nur lachen da das feinste und zierlichste Mädchen aus meiner klasse Ajax in unserem klassespiel spielt

  • Hector is a fucking coward

  • I never thought of a war hammer being very usable, but I guess if you're a giant it would help.

  • Wait a sec,is it the extended version?

  • Ajax would kill Hector barehanded. but Hector is somewhat smarter.

  • some one probably typed this before me but fuck it...................hulk vs sabretooth.

  • This is what it would be like to fight Shaq. Lol

This is what happens to you when you trust more your strong arms than checking what the opposite might carry under his shield. Typical example of "braveness" without a brain. It happened well to you, Ajax!

  • @CoDMW2KnifeThrower

Movies do that to make it dramatic

  • Ajax was the man in that battle before he got killed :(

  • Tyler Mane rocks!

  • LOL, were they all watching the scene instead of fighting?

  • lol Achilles was just like, fuck, theeeere goes Ajax

  • 2:32 LOL

  • hector >>>>>>> achiles

  • Ajax should not have died, BOOHOO

  • ajax no die here, poseidon kill ajax

  • @Jozzze1 actually, Ajax kills himself, if you remember the gods made this armor to make sure it cannot be penetrated, then Odysseus took it for himself because he was smarter, then Ajax killed himself because of jealously.

  • @234Assassin Actually Ajax killed himself because he dishonored the Greeks. After Odysseus took the armor he was drunk and started to kill animals because he thought that they were Greek Leaders, after he realized what he had done he killed himself because he thought he was dishonorable and wanted to redeem himself.

  • @CoDMW2KnifeThrower either way he kills himself and doesn't die in this battle

  • Doez anyone else notice that agememnon is like a pussy during the entire movie

  • ΑΙΑΣ Ο ΤΕΛΑΜΩΝΙΟΣ!

  • am I the only one who laughed at 0:38

The director's choice of placing a scene of an archer shooting between their fight was so fucking random XD

  • Filthy Hector! Why wan't you die, scum! ))) Ajax looking so barbaric here )

  • this ajax character is strong but not very skilled. hector should have just speared him then chop his head off

  • FACK YOU SON OF A BITCH!!

  • Hector is such a little bitch here. good thing Achilles butchers his ass later on

  • i feel like that headbutt would have been like hitting your head to a wall... for him to inflict that much upon Ajax, would be equal if not more than to hector... ahh movies :D

  • @thesheadr People train their bodies, some people have harder heads.

  • @albatroscafe

He hits him with the butt of his warhammer

  • ajax killed his self!!!!!!!!!!

  • ajax vs boagrius would of been a good fight. :o

  • @Thablackdead a quick one* Ajax was said to have been the second best fighter in the Greek army behind Achilles. Why they killed him in this movie is beyond me

  • Ajax is like the Uruk-Hai from LOTR and the Giant from 300 put together.

  • 8DLULWUT Thracians, Pontians Athenians, Spartans, Macedonians, Cretans, Selucids...and more minor tribes...all of them Greek my friend... same Gods same traditions...if it wasnt like this...then why did the GREEK Gods split in half and 6 supported the Trojans and 6 the Greeks?? ( you mean Canada and US? )

  • Best part of the movie was when Hector screamed FORWARD! @2:30

  • this was an improvement on Ajax's death, but completely ignores a rather important bit of the story

  • still Feyenoord would be a better name ;)

  • @M4levolence but feyenoord doesn't have a meaning in History, ajax does...

  • Ajax don't death in battle.

    The Iliad

  • GREEKS FIGHTING GREEKS :(

    ΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ ΕΝΩΜΕΝΟΙ ΠΟΤΕ ΝΙΚΗΜΕΝΟΙ !!!

  • @hoofer2009 trojans arnt greeks, that are related to the thracians, (i hate to see conflicts between my people 2)

  • wtf.. Ajax's hammer has a spiked end that he hits Hector with at 1:11 in the head. Shouldn't that pierce his skull??

  • in the book hector and ajax fight a few times, in the end declaring a stalemate. but during the battle in the book when hector takes the fight to the greek ships, he does manage to best ajax, although not killing him, atop one of the greek boats, throwing ajax off of it, and then starting to set fire to the greek ships. but yea in the end hector and ajax make a stalemate, giving eachother gifts out of respect. but it makes more sense in a movie for hector to just kill ajax

  • 2:07 - That's my boy!!!

  • Hector's lucky Diomedes didn't bother to show up for this movie, Troy wasn't enough of a fight once the filmmakers cut out Ares.

  • @cigansky As a greek I am very offended by this movie because it cuts out the best parts of the epic work of Homer. At least they didnt name it Illiad

  • 2:08 what is the captain of Sparta doing there!?

  • wrong!!!!!This is wrong.The Ajax never dies of Hector.This Film(TROY)is all wrong.

    Only the 30% is True!!!

  • Wasn't Ajax a half god?

  • @INTHEHONOROFROCK No. Ajax was son of Telamon & Periboea. Telamon was son of Aeacus (or Actaeus) and Endeis (or Glauce). Aeacus was Zeus' son. So, Ajax was possibly a descendant of Zeus, but not directly son of a god.

    BUT

The origin from a god was not so important for the homeric heroes, as you may imagine. Eudorus, one of Achilles' lieutenants, was son of Hermes. He was neither a great warrior nor a king nor a hero nor whatever else.

  • Ajax died like a BOSS

  • Lmfao 0:18 epic shield bash.

  • this movie was so crap too, Menelaus survives, Agamemnon survives Ajax survives (not for long but he does) Achilles kills hector and Paris being a pathetic excuse for a soldier and prince fires a poisoned arrow into his heel. the siege of troy takes ten years not a few weeks, while the walls cannot be penetrated the Greeks and Trojans get into stalemate,

  • @MAnnaconduit1 yeah this movie changed the whole history , i just like the battles xD

  • @MAnnaconduit1 could you send me the real story in short form my english is not good to read it from wikipedia, good but not enough

  • @MrDts1907

actually the sotry is written in the works of homers the Illiad

  • i loved the characters but hated the movie, hector says 50 000 Greeks were brought for one mans greed, well his Trojans are there so his brother can screw some one else wife. when he violated the sacred honor agreement and killed Menelaus he forgoes honor and at that point i just said the Trojans are willing to let their city and people be attacked so two brats can hump. then they act like they are offended by the Greeks being there, made me laugh, Hector deserved his fate for being hypocrite

  • Ajax wasn't that good. I saw him as more of a brute than a skillful warrior.

  • @TheSaderV he was the best greek warrior after achilles

  • @foxsound3 in history, yes, but in the movie, he was not skilled, he was just strong and tough to kill.

  • @foxsound3

In some parts of the Iliad it says this but in others it implies that Diomedes (who isn't in the film at all) may have been the best after Achilles.

  • THE TROY WAR BECOME THE 3.000 BC.

  • This movie is really stupid, why fix something that isn't broken? But welcome to the age of disinformation and deceit. Now everyone thinks this is the true Iliad.

  • Ajax and Hector actually do fight in the Illiad, but neither is able to defeat the other, and they declare an end to their battle. Out of respect for one another Hector presents Ajax with a Trojan sword of the highest quality, and Ajax gives Hector his most treasured girdle....Go figure.

  • @DatSlowpoke Then Ajax commits suicide. I guess the girdle wasn't nice enough.

  • @DatSlowpoke Ajax hits hector with a rock while ajax is unhit

  • I thought Ajax was supposed to survive Achilles then commit suicide after the war?

  • @nashertheatheist Of course... don't watch stupid Hollywood disinformation movies.. Just wait until they start manipulating the Bible, those will be the climax of the endtimes.

  • @atheniandpa ahahahaha I loved the "climax of the endtimes"

  • @mikebart70 It's not just dramatic, I'm serious. Once they begin condemning Jesus again, which they already have, there's bound to be a reaction.

  • @atheniandpa yeah. once everything they do its just for the sake of profit we can figure out what could happen.

  • @atheniandpa are you serious about they "condemning Jesus" ???

  • @atheniandpa Anyone that's halfway educated knows this movie isn't a copy of The Illiad,it just references from Homer with aspects switched around to execute the director's vision. It's been done a million times before so i don't know why you're acting like you're shocked. And anyone's who's educated knows the modern King James bible is just a scrap book of alterations, mistranslations, misenterpretation, and sprinkles of truth anyway

  • @wisewarriormuzic And anyone who is educated as a student of history knows that first and foremost, history is not the truth. History is an account of the truth. And this account is subject to change over the years, which is exactly why disinformation films like this are very dangerous. This change can be made with good or bad intent. Biblical flaws do not compromise the goodness if its account. This film jeopardizes Homer's intent, for ideological purposes.

  • extended version ???

I dont remenber the army walking over ajax body.

  • i would totally fuck his wife.

  • @jiujitsufighter92 did you know his wife is a lesbian in real life? apart from that i agree with you, i would to :D

  • ajax is not killed by hector, he commits suicide in illiad

  • @Saru86p why does he??

  • Wrong Hole

  • I am Asynchronous Javascript and XML...Look upon me with despair.

  • @macbeasty I do, I look upon AJAX with a bottomless despair known only by the damned deep in the eleventh circle of Hell :)

  • Ajaz didn't die according to Illiad. Both heroes fought for whole day with hector getting a minor injury and in the end both got impressed by each other and exchanged gifts

  • Ajax is such a beast. I bet while Hector was stabbing Ajax, he must've been thinking, "Is this guy really human?!?!"

  • 2:20 oops, wrong target, dude ^^

  • "I am Ajax, breaker of stones—look upon me and despair" thumbs up for Ajax :D

  • I thought Ajax was a floor cleaner from the 80's

  • @TheGodParticle lol! i still use it as glass cleaner!!

  • if you search on wikipedia for ajax youll se that he did´nt die this way. he actually comited suicide

  • @GeneralGrievous18 Whichever it was Diomedes did wound a god. Aeneas wasn't included either apart from that little kid at the end. A big thing they didn't include is that Hector didn't choose to bring the army back to Troy against council the night before the Myrmidons joined the fight again. His shame of that did make him face Achilles after all.

  • Can't believe Hector ordered them not to pursue because they were in range of their archers. SO what - they could have routed them then and there. For such an excellent warrior he really dropped the ball there.

  • Hector got even more beating from Ajax than from Achilles. Even though Hector won..

  • anyone else notice that ajax KNOCKED OVER A F*CKING HORSE?!

    WITH ONE HAND?!

  • @Lhein33 I particularly remember Diomedes being an extremely talented warrior, his match being Ajax only among the Greeks with Achilles his only superior. Yet he got no part in this movie. I remember Diomedes mostly because his fighting was put into detail the most, if I remember correctly he even wounded a Trojan supporting god and killed many Trojan heroes, even being intimidating to Hector.

  • @pat5168 I may be wrong, but I think it was Idomeneus who fought against Aeneas and wounded his mother Aphrodite when she intervened.

  • i'm guesing that in those times watching a battle right in front of your door step was as exciting as watching the super bowl humans are truly a strange creature

  • Ajax was the strongest of the Greeks. Achilles was however the better fighter. According to the old legends, Ajax fought Hector twice and survived both duels.

The rest of the story goes that after the sacking of Troy, Ajax was denied the Armor of Achilles and committed suicide, throwing himself on a sword that Hector had given him as a gift.

He was also said to have been one of the best heroes of the war - personally killing many Trojans.

  • @NicholasGeschke Achilles was the strongest of the Greeks. E.g. it's said that no Greek (we can conclude that this means Ajax too) could lift Achilles' spear (μελίη).

Also, the dispute about Achilles' armour happened before the fall of Troy. Ajax committed suicide, then Neoptolemus and Philoctetes came and finally Odysseus created the Trojan Horse and they destroyed Troy.

  • @Lhein33 I am impressed. You know quite alot about the old legends. Thank you for your corrections. Kudos to you sir. (Tips his hat)

  • Ajax looks more like a viking to me

  • Melee DPS vs Tank xD

  • @nomad413x more like Tanky DPS lmaoo

  • Ajax, was he Dutch?

  • @redsomister from Sparta

  • I played Age of Mythology and I supoused that Aquiles, Ajax and Ulises were the good boys...now I´m confused...xD

  • Hector is da best

  • i don't understand why people wear armors when they have no use ^^ 1:22 ,1:41

  • @Oesterreich1156

armor was almost always useless against piercing weapons such as arrows and spears. but against slashing blows, they would be very effective (we see this in the hector vs achilles fight when achilles armor protects him from hectors slash before hector trips on rock). The only type of armor that could effectively deflect piercing weapons was a solid metal breast-plate.

  • @macbeasty That's what the shields were made for. Even the mighty Katana, arguably the best slashing weapon ever made, cannot cut through solid steel.

Plate armor wasn't developed until the late Middle Ages, and it was only perfected during the Hundred Years' War. It was what allowed knights to use two-handed swords without having to worry about carrying a shield for protection.

A much more efficient weapon for breaching armor would be the battleaxe. Easy to use, cheap and powerful.

  • I think Ajax was german !

  • @kmdroell acording the Iliad, Ajax was born in Salamina (southern Athens)

  • didnt Ajax survive the trojan war?

  • @ZeroDarkOmega In the Iliad there are two. Ajax the Greater, this one, and Ajax the Lesser. The Greater isn't killed by Hector, he commits suicide after failing to obtain Achilles' armor after his death. Ajax the Lesser survives Troy but is killed by the Gods on the journey home for raping Cassandra whilst she was clinging to the altar of Athene.

  • 2:35 FORWARD!!

  • Ajax is a fucking Beast!

  • Ajax vs. Boagreus!!!

  • Ajax is a fucking badass. Who else gets stabbed in the gut, and their first reaction is to break the spear in half, then beat the shit out of the guy who stabbed you, with the spear he used to stab you?!?!

  • @jimthehappymonkey1 Chuck Norris? (Sorry, I couldn't help but to write this response.)

  • actually there are many i dont know names but someone got shot in one of their eyes with an arrow and he pull out the arrow (along with his eye) and ate it! another general who was escaping enemy castle was shot with arrows which pierce every place on his armor and body and when he made it back to his camp he play chess while people are pulling out the arrow heads (type where it tears off chunk of your meat if you pull it out). another guy cut off his hand when poinsoned and continue fighting

  • @jimthehappymonkey1 and then strangle a guy after being stabbed again with a sword?!?! AJAX = CHAMP!!!

  • the trojans fight like dogs

  • This is from directors cut edition ?

  • @RHUN9 blue ray directors cut im 95% sure

  • Ajax,King of Salamina...the boy who was enfold with the Lion cloak of Hercules himself and would become the greatest Greek warrior after Achilles!

  • ajax never reallt died at troy

  • Great quality. Ajax was a beast!!!
