i know a lot of people who HAD ideology and principle, but because they were dwelling in politics far too long, the system swallowed and sucked them in. by gunning for the presidency right away and not climbing the ladder of political hierarchy in a traditional way, we can be assured non the less that nicanor perlas still have an untarnished ideology and principle. in terms of getting his hands dirty in mass education, well his been doing it for 40 years! 1 second ago
Mr. Perlas is the only hope that we have during the 2010 elections. He has the honest intention of changing the Philippines towards a better future. Sana po iboto siya ng majority kahit hindi wala siyang "dagat ng basura" ads at "will stop corruption" ads. Wala rin siyang hinanakit sa gobyernong "nagpakulong sa kanya" o leader ng isang "RELIGIOUS movement.
We have enough environmental and sustainable development laws. Now what we need is the political will to implement the laws--and EDUCATION is one of the most effective implementing tools. And this responsibility lies in the Executive Branch, the Presidency. So if this branch is a massive failure, you can be assured that those laws will forever remain on paper. And you expect someone other than Perlas as President to implement these laws?
Gibo was with NDCC, look what NDCC has NOT ACCOMPLISHED. And who else, pray tell me, among the current Presidential aspirants have gotten their hands dirty fighting for environmental causes, and going to farmers to teach sustainable agriculture, among many other things? ONLY NICK PERLAS. ONLY NICK PERLAS.
Yung ilusyon na sinasabi mo, ilusyon yan ng nakararaming tao that politicians with NO RECORD in environmental work and sustainable development work can actually make our country better. Now that is the grandest illusion of all.
I subscribe to many of Nic Perlas' advocacies. What I don't accept is the sudden jump in political ambition? Why insist on becoming president if you don't represent the pulse of the people. Why not a senatorial position? Why not get your hands dirty with environmental education for the masses? NSO surveys reveal that not even 15% of Filipino people are environment-conscious, that's why we fail in Ecological Waste Mgt.
For this same reason we should elect Nick Perlas... if a president is conscious about environmental issues then the people will also become conscious. The pulse of the people is clear... "THEY WANT CHANGE" and they only need to see that.
@RuthlessFerocity: I don't believe that you subscribe to many of his advocacy and still remain ignorant on why he should be president. Please refrain from leaving comments if your intention is to pollute the minds of other people that wants to know more about Mr. Perlas.

"geejayarriola", i am a registered environmental planner and i know what you are talking about and what i am talking about.
we cannot assume that leaders who are not openly environmentalist do not have an environmental agenda.
let us do away with the messianic judgmental attitude.

this response is not worth debating on.

@RuthlessFerocity you are the one who's judgemental.

We have much work to do before we can aspire to have an environmentalist president. Trabaho muna. Edukasyon muna. Hindi ilusyon!

Not only Nick Perlas actually... why I am campaigning for him is because he knows that the solution is TAYONG LAHAT or "EVERYONE OF US"
