Andy Summers is up there with the best technical players but is often overlooked because of his connection with The Police. Andy and Stewart were the serious talent in the Police but Sting is good at writing pop songs.
@ernieballsting This track is called `big american bottoms' it was based on an experience Andy had with an average american that eats Big Macs, watches fox news, sport and invades countries and supports Israeli genocide.
watch this then punch up on utube andy playing b ring on the night in his instuctional video...yep you guys are right..this is could be played in an elevator
he's not an old rocker playing jazz. it's a well documented fact that andy started out first as a jazzer, then as fate would have it went the rock/police route. So.. he's actually going back to his roots here. enjoy.
Insulting? Take that fucking cock out of your ass, and get off your high horse you retard. It doesn't matter where you came from or who you are. All that matters is if you play good music. I like Andys guitar playing. I liked it with the Police, and I like it in his jazz band. If you don't like it come up with a valid complaint not "He used to play rock wahh wahh!"
OK - I agree he's no Kurt Rosenwinkel, but let's see you do better!
I do think Andy's strongest suit was taking all the musical knowledge he acquired as a jazzer and using it to help craft brilliant pop songs, but he sounds pretty good here, so respect...
Beautiful
