The sim was ALREADY in a restart cycle. Guess nobody is noticing the "If you stay in this region you will be logged out" messages popping up in the upper left. This was set up in advance by someone trying to be clever... "ohhh, I'll make a movie with self replicating objects right as a sim is being rebooted and say I crashed it.. that'll make me so badass".. yeah, whatever.
