Something that will cut the process in half is to put the water in the container first, then stir the powder in as you pour it slowly then let it sit covered for 5 minutes then place it in the freezer for an hour.

To make it even clearer you can use a glass container then place the glass container into a pot of boiling water after you let it sit for the 5 minutes. Stir while it boils making sure not to get air bubbles into the gel do this until the gel becomes completely clear

@ThisModernDay once the gel is clear there should be a foam on top. use a syringe to suck the clear gel out from under the foam then dispense it into another container. then place it in the freezer for an hour or use a knife to cut the foggy foam off the top after you remove it from the freezer

Ballistics gel is used to demonstrate human flesh so I would say it's pretty similar I'm pretty sure mine isn't as accurate as it could be I don't now the special techniques to making it the mythbusters do.

@AHW214 The special techniques the Mythbusters use is buying actual Powered Ballistic Gellatin, however it cost about 350$ for 50 lbs coming to about $7.00 dollars per pound, but 50 lbs can produce 500 lbs of ballistic gel lowering the price to about 1.40, and you cant buy it for very cheap in smaller proportions
