@Paboll Honestly I found that Stop Making Sense is one of a very small number of live albums that are equal to the studio versions. The best part is that they don't try and make the songs all sound like the studio versions, they almost feel like different songs sometimes. "Heaven" for example is practically a totally different song on Stop Making Sense (IMO its actually much better that way too.)
@eternal0star ....If you want an equivalent this concert, check out: The Killers - Live From Royal Albert Hall...I downloaded it, blew my mind and it is probably as good as Stop Making Sense if not better.
Absolutely the funkiest Talking Heads song in their catalog. Simple, angular & funky....Quintessential Heads at their very best. Come on David....make nice with the rest of the band and get back to playing these gems live again.
Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT..... It's a little sped up. You can really tell when you listen to "This must be the Place". Glad its on here tho.
They could have been the biggest band in the world, even giving U2 a run for their money. Shame David Byrne sorta lost his way. His extreme quirkiness was both their lifeforce and downfall all at once. A true genius.
@backspinking - This is from the Stop Making Sense tour. One of the coolest parts of the performance was the slow buildup of personnel on stage as the show progressed. It starts with just Byrne walking out on stage with a chair, tape recorder and guitar, pressing play and doing a great acoustic version of 'Psychokiller'. Every song or so another band member joins him on stage, until at the finale there are like a dozen people on stage with elaborate lighting and projections behind them. Genius!

Now, that's why i like Talking Heads.
Very balanced style: "très très sec" stage performances, while their music contains so many funky elements, especially in their early days.
Matchless!

That's one smart band. My feet, butt, hips, and brain are all better off for the T-heads being around. God bless!

Think of reality TV, then consider that David Byrne wrote this in 1978. Always ahead of their time, Jerry, Chris, Tina and David.
