@7Know7Thy7Enemy7 actually, two things: first of all, christians ARE under fire for their anti gay agenda, the thing is that not ALL christians are anti-gay, in fact some christians ARE GAY. also, they can't get sued for free speech unless it's hate speech, and while what the christians say IS hate speech, it gets hard to prosecute when they claim it's part of their religion, especially in this overly christian country.
two: not ALL white people are hypocrites. that's an unfounded racist remark.

They all made stupid comments but the lighter-skinned fellows get burned over the coals while the darker is held over a hot lamp. I was not talking about the retardation of the media, I was saying that Michael Richards is not a good comedian and that he just said stupid shit cuz he's a cunt who couldn't handle that situation, there was no career there for him. Also, the whole Chris Brown thing is different since it was domestic violence not a bad joke. @09knucklez Bill Hicks, George Carlin, and Ricky Gervais *never* tried to say that their children coming home Catholic would earn them a stabbing death, or anything similar to that. None of them ever advocated violence against religious people.
Saying mean things about religion doesn't merit any reprimand (though it often gets one). Encouraging people to kill homosexuals certainly merits far harsher censure than Tracy Morgan has received.

And I find it hilarious that when it's about gay and lesbian people, it's no big deal. However, if it were racial or religious slurs or comments, people all over would be absolutely appalled. This is free speech at its best. Of course Tracey has the right to make ignorant insulting comments but other people have the right to point out how ignorant and insulting the comments are. Tracy obviously has some homophobic issues but I think his apology although made under pressure was genuine and he was sincerely regretful once he realized how hurtful his comments were. I think he learned something from it and is now a better person for it. Free speech works when EVERYONE has it and uses it.
