It's the original version, yes, but the original theme for the snooker (back in the 1970s, just after they brought out colour TVs) was Vangelis' "To The Unknown Man".

@voon100 THis track is called "The Drag Racer" (CAn't remember who wrote it though, Sorry). I think the track you are looking for from the old snooker programmes is called "To The Unknown Man" by Vangelis from his album "Spiral". Hope this helps.
