Please don't take this the wrong way but "It gets better" campaigns are not true. It doesn't and won't get better until the adults stop treating people as second class citizens. Recently there were a couple of teens who committed suicide AFTER making their own "it gets better" video. Pass an equal rights amendment that gives LGBTTIQ and Women total and absolute equal rights. Then it might get better.
