@lmuthali Hello. I noticed you replied to Little Doggie at CanadiansGoHome. He also uses Uneiluneville to dispense his lies, hatred and prejudice about others who fail to listen, respect or agree to his nonsense. He derives satisfaction from upsetting others. The best course of operation when dealing with him is to either ignore him or just don't lose your awareness that he is a little lonely person who speaks only for himself and not others
@CanadiansGoHome The provincial government in Quebec handles the resources like shit. I drove through Montreal and the city is falling apart, and out of the 10 provinces the fifth highest unemployment.
@MrThewhiteindian Hello, I noticed you have been battling Little Doggie of CanadiansGoHome. He also operates Unuileuneville on youtube. He trolls videos seeking to add inflamatory comments in hopes that others will respond. He is a sad. lonely and odd character seeking to make contact with others.
I recommend that either you ignore him and eventually he will go away or just bear in mind that he is NOT a representative of Quebec, but instead a member of a lunatic fringe. He is a nuisance.
@CanadiansGoHome Why the fuck would we leave our own land? The criminals in this country are you goddamn white shitheads, who would have starved and froze to death if nobody helped them, so shut the fuck up you uneducated asshole.
They dont live off the land, they live off the whitemans hard earned money. They spent it on booze mainly. If the whites moved off the land , canada would become a desolate wilderness, no hospitals, no grocery stores, no fuck all.
@TheDigimak It was like that, and did fine for thousands of years before the white people brought their money alcohol and disease's to this land, it was succumbing to white peoples bullshit politics and greed that ruined us. So before pointing fingers try understanding a little why things are the way they are.
Not to build great pyramids, but to leave the land as it is.... Amazing quote. As an englishman who has lived on Cree land for 2 years it has been great, thank you for the hospitality and the feast's!
what is the name of this movie please. watched it last year and I can only remember "power" i can't remember the rest of the title so I am having a hard time find it the movie again.
Hope they are able to keep there lands safe from any more tree cutting and other rape of the land. This people don't get that they have to live with Nature not against nature. Hope they can save it. Trees help nature. My hope that Canada doesn't turn into a U.S.A. were greedy companies take and destroy nature daily. They will if they are unchecked.
@ScotteDio And paradoxically more do so in Quebec than in B.C. precisely because the province is French speaking. It provides a sort of cultural shield against the overwhelming power of integration of the English North American culture. In BC many tribes have few speakers and they are very old.
Whether or not Cree can romantically maintain their lyfestyle, it is not clear. After all if I wanted to live like my ancestors, I would be laughed at.....
This video is incredibly outdated. The Grand Council Of The Crees have signed La Paix Des Braves and has therefor empowered Quebec into taking the Cree rivers, the lands, and the forest. We have signed a 50 year gag order, and few were as adamant about the "blessing" that this agreement was as the man portrayed in this video. The Cree have ONE river left. The Great Whale River, and you can bet that these men would give it up in a heartbeat. Leadership fail. Freedom fail.
@tennisgurl206 natives in the past were not millions, but thouzands, it is the only reason they took better care of the land then us in present day. They were human being they were not different from the Europeans, they were also trying to control their environment just like any human would do. If their population would have grow they would have hunted more, needed more, just like us right now...
This is old, Cree signed the Paix des Braves soon after that, they agreed to be part of Québec if it became independent. Officialy north is Québec, own by all the people of Québec, myself included. Only the reserve is Cree, If they would have stayed with Canada only their reserve would have been officialy Canada, they would have been surrounded by Québec, they would have need passport to get out their reserve and come in Québec...
Write Grand Council of the Crees on Wikipedia and you will see what Cree land is, it is not all the North of Québec. It is those small piece of land that would have stayed part of Canada.
Hydro Québec and these hydro-electric dams, produce the most environmentally safe energy in the world. Hydro Québec sells power to New York, New England, and the Rest of Canada. This generates massive ammounts of money for schools, hospitals, roads, etc. This power is cleaner than oil or coal. These bastard "natives" claim to be pro-environment, until it changes their precious traditions and habits.
@RodrigueMoore The claim that the Native American people are also immigrants is ridiculous because it is an obvious attempt at discrediting the fact that we have been stewards of the land and have maintained it in pristine condition since our existence. We have been, and will always be, connected to this land in ways that no other culture will ever understand. Our responsibility was stolen from us by Europeans and now it is obvious that it has been grossly mishandled. Pure and simple.
@RodrigueMoore You must be ridiculous to believe that Hydro Power is the most environmentally safe energy in the world. You have obviously never seen the effects that Hydro projects have on their surroundings. We have dams in our back yards, and it chokes and kills cultures, traditions and wildlife. If the wildlife is affected, our culture is affected. Your comments have absolutely no weight on this topic. You did a damn good job of being ignorant though. Congrats!
@PakessoMobile If he is being ignorant, you are being blind. Hydroelectricity his by far the most environmentally safe way to mass produce electricity. No one ever said it is perfect and have no impact on the environment, but if you think that having surrounding cultures and wildlife affected by a dam is bad, have a look on what nuclear power has done to Prypiat or on what fossil fuel has done to the whole planet.
@PakessoMobile Until solar power is efficient enough to be used on a large scale hydroelectricity is our best option with the help of wind power ( which is insufficient on it's own) to power our society. I'm sorry that you seem unaware of the problems relative to the other means of power production.
@rognure I am very aware of what the risks are of other means of electricity. But there is a great difference in what YOU have to give up as opposed to what WE have to give up for the luxury that is electricity. It's very easy to talk about how great one means is over the other, but until you learn what the potential loss of culture and language is due to big projects, then you have no idea what the cost is. I'm sorry, but those that lose nothing have no place to speak in this arena.
@PakessoMobile potential loss of culture and language. What language do you speak right now, english, the language of those who put you in reserve camp. If Cree oppose the independance of Québec, they contribute to the lost of the Quebecers culture and the French language. I a Métis and I know that if Cree associate themselves with English Canada they would not help their cause. French have a lot of grudge, they will always remember it if the Cree side with the English...
@HuronWendat I actually speak Cree, English and French. And I am quite aware of what the plans are for Cree lands. La Paix Des Braves was part a plan where Quebec was going to have the 10 Nations Of Quebec sign "Nation To Nation" agreements. Because of the French were conquered here by the English, they are technically not a "Nation". So, they got it in their heads that if they were able to have at least 6/10 Nations sign agreements, they could use that as a declaration of sovereignty.
@rognure What makes this whole thing more ridiculous is that Hydro Quebec raked in over 2 billion dollars in profits annually, and once the Paix Des Braves was signed, they enacted a 5% increase in fees for electricity. This was AFTER they had dammed another river. So, when profits are that insane, and then increased by 5% for no reason, it doesn't become a situation of necessity, it becomes a monstrous greed. But, the Earth is fighting back, and it's somewhat entertaining to see. :)
These First ASIANS no more own the land than do the Québécois or Vikings. The first North Americans were Solutreans/Clovis people who came from Northern Spain/Southern France. These so called "aboriginals" are an immigrant minority who stole the land and killed Solutreans. They like to play victims, but they're just as guilty of genocide as anyone else.
And another thing. Coon Come supported the Paix Des Braves when it was in its consultation phase. He fully supported Ted Moses. Now, the James Bay Cree are bound to Quebec through that agreement. So much for Cree Freedom. We have given free reign over our lands...in exchange for a little something on the side. 1% of all raw materials. There will be no such thing as Cree Freedom while these men are in power. Residential school was a success for the Government in these examples.
I believe that the people who live on the land (here the Cree) should decide what is done with it. I do not agree with destroying the ancestral way of life, values and traditions of Native peoples.
My ancestors came from Portugal and France 360 years ago so where is my "land"? I'm neither Portuguese nor French.
This land may not belong to me but I belong to this land.
Aue, ka whawhai tonu ngaa iwi taketake kia tiaki ai te whenua o oo raatou tuupuna. alas it seems the battle of indigenous peoples to preserve their ancestors land is never ending. Noting that the documentary is a few years old now, I hope that the James Bay Cree are still fighting, and winning, their battle to safeguard the lands of their ancestors, thus retaining it for their grandchildren. Kia kaha! Be strong!
Man... when we're taught history its only about the French and the British. Never about the Aboriginals. This needs to be addressed more and the Quebec govnt is being a huge hypocrite - a distinct culture and language so they deserve to break off from Canada? Okay. and what about the aboriginals who fought aside you. They too have a distinct culture and language that needs to be respected. So the Aboriginals have the right to break off from Quebec, no?
@raynax3 You're doing a project on a hypocrite too. He has abandoned all of his ancestry in favor of Pentecostalism and is now promoting development in Eeyou Istchee. He is also a mining executive. He won his elections this summer by telling people "If you vote for the other guy, you're not voting for Jesus. If you vote for me, you vote for Jesus." What aboriginal runs a campaign like that? The amazing thing is...he won! LOL (He ran against my dad) The "Lord" provides indeed.

at some point in the past yeah I agree with you, but not now. I just wish I could have some Indian blood and live in Oujé-Bougoumou or Mistissini. Europeans tend to be lazy entrepreneurs. That may sound like a contradiction, but it is based on the fact that they inevitably seek the path of least resistance.
If and when an expanse is "unprotected" it will become a target of those in power. Documents will be signed, agreements met, and Voila, you have what you want, all at the expense of the natural agenda.
Even modern day laws address "intent". How do those same laws address colonialism?
The heck with the Quebec Seperatists at the time when this video was made. Take a good look at this video today, we were exploited from our natural resources and as of today we live with the aftermath of this devastation "the destruction of Cree culture, the Cree way of life".
Take it from me,an irishman, that native americans do not want to go or do anything with the english, look what they done to our culture, traditions, language and lands!!
True, but at the moment it is either dieing slowly or slowing down. The Liberals won the last provincial election in Quebec, support for splitting from Quebec has dropped about ten percent since the last referendum. The Partie Quebecois says it isn't their main problem now and it is on the back bench. Hopefully this idea stays down.
Hehe 90 per cent of canadians polled reject the idea of foreign cops carrying their weapons into canada without a permit.Check my name under bulletins for more info.
@CanadiansGoHome Little Doggie, Did you get out of your yard again.
Sorry, folks if you find Little Doggie a nuisance and a pest. He is just a lonely person trying to find human contact in whatever way he can.
You will know when Little Doggie gets riled up because he hits the UPPERCASE letters with enthusiam.
It's best to ignore him and he will lose interest and go pester someone else. He trolls Quebec-related videos to help keep himself from boredom.

The idea is far from the grave, it's just a little bit retarded since the last crappy PQ leader. Independance will probally come one day.

When 40% of the population are still for it, we can't consider it as a dead idea..
