From time to time I listen to this song. Always has the same effect on me. Always makes me remember where I come from, and after hearing it, I remember that I'm a pickle.
In failure or success, regardless, in the end we just want to be able to say, we made our own choices, and did it "our way." Thanks for the inspiration.
Me, Dino, Willie, Charlie the boys drinking brewskies at Otto´s bar on Flatbush Ave 1975 - 1977. Listening to Frankie on the jukebox. Those were the days, like Bob Hope would say, thanks for memories!
The point of this song to me is when you look back on the things you have done in your life and you put all you had in to each and everything and relationship that you had And as you reach the end of you life you can look back on it and know that you did what you though was the best thing for that time and place. Good bad or indefirent you can steal look at your self in the morning and steal feel good about your life

It's true there is not much feeling in Sinatra's voice in this song. But I believe that may be the point of the song. It's like coming out of a storm or standing back from all the emotion of events of your life and trying to reconcile it . For example, you've been in love and had the pain of break up. Now you are past it and can comment on it in less emotional but more clear and logical terms....I guess that may the point of the song.
This always makes me cry. He sounds JUST like my grandfather when he sings and my grandfather recently had a stroke. We played this song for him when he sang it and he just started bawling. My gradfather has lived his life to the fullest, has traveled around the worlds and was very succesfull. God bless everyone <3
Excelente... noten como a melodia, la voz y la letra de la cancion se organizan y conforman armoniosa disposicion... es mas uno puede cerrar los ojos e imaginarse como se disponen espacialmente...

yes, we are all so unbelievably rich and the company who owns the song so damn poor. I'm sure Frank Sinatra really cares about it.
