I was five years old when I saw my old man, long haired and fresh-faced, air guitaring the shit out of this song. That's when I knew it was all about Rock N' Roll. Love to all my fellow rockers, and my old man for showing me the truth!
Great post I`ve never seen this before. The Crowes got me through my final days of highschool when this album came out I must have played this CD 1000 times. Not very many bands make a 2nd album that is just as good or even better than their first.
NOBODY looked unhappy at the "devils weed" fest. Good smoke, Good poeple, and Great music. WTF hasnt everyone recognized this?? Gotta smoke one to this. Peace on you and everyone you love. TBC are as real as they come.
Sting Me - The Black Crowes [Atlanta, Georgia] - 1992 - "AMG Pick. (#1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart for two weeks). A great song off their second album 'The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion' Good first impression on the Great guitar HOOKS and vocals." - The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion (Def American Records)-1992. NOTE: If you like this song check out these albums "Shake Your Money Maker-1990" AND "Amorica-1994."
MTV was heading downhill with this video on headbangers. It didnt belong. I got a great idea instead of playig videos lets turn MTV into a reality TV station. blah blah
I was at this with my wife on the side stage my wife got sick and threw up on there limo and chris laughed at my wife and told her to go have another one
Does you guys remember the *alternate* version of "Sting Me" that was on the B-side of ... um, "Thorn in My Pride" (I think)? The slower, sort of bare-bones version? If anyone has a link to that sone on YouTube, pass it on to me, please! =D Thanks, and enjoy!
Robinson's voice is somewhere between Stewart and Marriott and musically for me they are a blend of The Faces and Humble Pie. Wouldn't be surprised if these bands were major influence on Black Crowes.
@pcburgh01 - No shit eh? Back when they played music and didn't need MTV2 lol, and the only shows they had were Remote Control and Kurt Loder news?? Bonus if you remember who the host of Remote control was, and no cheating looking it up :)
Very easily. You (being 108) must have had a favourite side to an album at some stage. Those 78s back in the day? Anyway TSHAMC had ten songs so it was a dectopus (from the deep).
No, in fact, I never had a favorite song from any BC album from 1990-1996. (SYMM, SHMC, amorica, or, Three Snakes,) I didn't even listen to the CD's in '95 and '96, except when Three Snakes was released. From 92-96 I did not listen to ANY other music but TBC. It was all I needed.
I have so many bootlegs, and live was always better.
I admit I was on the very Taller bootleg list and my photo is in Taller's 3rd. Transparent Journal, (1996) shoot me.
Taller's very FIRST bootleg list...120 people, Spring 1995. I wasn't Patti Foster, I was listed as Patti Santoro. Chris used to send us soundboard boots when there was just a relative very few people on the list.
yes they are a great band went to see them in april in laughlin need to go see them in vegas in september they are amazing warpaint is a great album more bands should play real music like the crowes
I saw them in June opening for Dave Matthews Band, and I was really disappointed. Tee performance had no life; it was the epitome of a band going through the motions. And I've seen them do better; I know what they're capable of.
