  • that bayonet did not look much like this one.

It looked like a top notch quality bayonet.

Even more quality then the one in this video.

And it was manufactured very sharp.

I wonder if the Russians changed their bayonets from the sixties ?

  • I have lost contact with this friend years ago.

Any information as to where this impressive bayonet may have come from would be appreciated.

  • the only AK bayonet I ever saw was under a friend's truck seat.

I was looking there for a VHS tape and came across the bayonet.

Looking at this bayonet I was truly impressed by what observed as to my impression as to the quality of manufacture.

Directly after seeing the bayonet I went and askied my friend what the bayonet's manufacture was.

I was told that it came from the Viet Nam war.

He informed me that he bought it back, and that it was from an AK that he claimed was Russian manufacture

  • I did not know this existed. Any idea of cost? I am looking for a tough, cheap piece of steel to keep in my barn that I am not going to get attached to but is able to stand up to abuse not necessarily thought about by the designers. The ak-47 bayonet fits this bill but I like the blade design of this better.

  • Where can I buy this at?

  • the brits (a Scottish brigade to be exact) held a successful bayonet charge on a Taliban mortar position in Afghanistan a couple years ago. They lost no men and they killed 32 of the Taliban and took the position along with a load of prisoners!

The scotts had been running low on ammo during the fight, so instead of waiting for reinforcements they charged the fuckers. The officer who led it was even given medal for bravery.

  • @545Krinkify And what do you know about the "modern" battle field wise guy? What if you run out of ammo? A survival knife that you can attach to your rifle sounds like a pretty good idea no matter how "modern" you get. Use your head.

  • @545Krinkify

may be true but if your gonna have a knife, why not be able to attach it to the end of your rifle?

  • @545Krinkify I can see bayonets being implemented heavily into CQB situations...

  • @545Krinkify hell yeah it has...in close quarter combat, like house clearing

  • @545Krinkify Have you been on a modern battle field? Ever done CQB training, etc? Anything remotely associated with using bayonets in military training?

  • do you know where i can buy 1???

  • @MyGamertagSIeepy702 try blades uk

  • @545Krinkify

A primary survival tool is a knife, you know nothing about battle fields.

  • It's a great bayonet, but I still prefer the AKM type 2.

  • @545Krinkify they are mainly used as a tool or a last ditch fighting knive in hand to hand combat the military reguires that they have a bayonet cuase they can come in handy when clearing houses or when you run out of ammo in close quarters but as far as a bayonet charge with todays machine guns that would be a mistake

  • @545Krinkify it isnt bullshit, it was the first bayonet charge since the falklands war.

  • @545Krinkify I'll give you the link to the story if you want ?? I'll send you in pm, not sure you can send links in comments :)

  • @545Krinkify No actually, it was an ambush, and it got a bit too close haha

  • @545Krinkify Highlanders took out 35 Iraqis in 2004 with bayonets... There is still a place for them :D

  • @545Krinkify not true. Recently, the SAS (who still use bayonets) took over a Taliban Squad in Afghanistan using bayonets. If your gun jams, and a crazy terrorist is running up on you with a machete, that bayonet may be your last defense. And its good to conserve ammo. Why shoot a guy if you can save a bullet and stab him

  • My father wants me to get an ak47 because I have a 1947 bayonet made for the ak47 wire cutters just like this one but looks more like a regular big knife not stylish blade I like collecting historical weapons my had slot of dirt and and stuff and it since it had killed people I cleaned it now it's silver except when u put it in and take it out cause of the springs then I have to clean it again cause it will turn black if I dong

  • is that a Russian bayonet?

  • @545Krinkify Bayonets are not made for the purpose of a bayonet charge. They are made for when you are in close, never know when somebody could be around a corner and you need to keep them at distance.

  • @545Krinkify A troll indeed.

  • @545Krinkify

those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it ..

    quit trying to start fights

  • lol new features its all the same as they have always been

  • WTF is whith the words in the begining and end?

  • i have a real ak-47 bayonet.. my father took it from some house that they capturedwhen there was a war in my country about 15 years ago .. and real ak-47 bayonet aint nothing fancy but its longer and thiner than one in the video and it doesnt have curvers like that one

  • do you have a french FAMAS and it's bayonet? If so, could you post of video of it sometime? Much respect.

  • great vid mate,i own a mint condition brown bakelite type 2 from the izhmash factory, not sure how old it is but it was worth the £30 ($45),i paid.i like your russian survival knife too.good vids.

  • How much is the modern ak 74 bayonet ?

  • @PanterausfG i just bought one for £25. You don't get modern AK74 Bayonets, you would get a AK74M bayonet which are black cased like the one in this video. I have a AK74 Bakelite sheathed bayonet, it looks nicer.

  • Hi does it work with ak47 or only with the ak74 and 100 series ?

  • @ZulfireStudio

with AKM, yes.. with AK47, no

  • @GearBuyersGuide thanks

    dope review

  • @ZulfireStudio an ak-47 fire a 7.62x39, or a 30 cal. an ak-74 fires a 5.45x39, use common scence.

  • Where can i buy one at are you willing to sell that one

  • Do you know why the Russians and Bulgarians went with this shape bayonet blade?

  • I wanna see how you'll sharpen this knife

  • @FateNWolf

    bayonets are not sharpened..

  • @GearBuyersGuide just out of curiosity why aren't bayonets sharpened?

  • @jedbeddo1

they are for causing damage, not cutting open packages

  • @GearBuyersGuide Actually, my SW3B M9 bayonet can serve as a decent fighting/survival/utility knife. Its just that some bayonets are made to double as hand held tools and some aren't.

  • @GearBuyersGuide not sure on this type of bayonet. but on the older ones they had a very dull edge to them. a dull blade makes a rough wound which is harder for a medic to fix up. they all so double as a jack of all trades blade. they were used for a little of everything. thats why they have the saw back.

  • @GearBuyersGuidea sharp knife will cause alot more plus what if your a soldier and you wanted to cut sombodys throat, cut some rope or webbing

  • @GearBuyersGuide I was curious about the same thing. My AKM bayonet is dull even at the tip. I don't imagine it would do much thrusting damage either. So, there must be a need to sharpen at least the tip, no?

  • @jedbeddo1

    they are used for stabbing

  • @jedbeddo1

The bayonets aren't sharpened because you aren't meant to slash with them. No use for them to be sharp. They're meant for stabbing.

  • @Gezab also (i dont know if its true) i asked a guy at the vfw and he said it was because during world war 1 troops would carve notches in there bayonets, which in turn caused the bayonet to pull intestines and whatnot out of people when it was removed. so now its in the geneva convention that bayonets can not have edges, only a point. idk

  • @jedbeddo1

That's an interesting story, but it's not true. Many countries still use sharpened bayonets, like the United States and United Kingdom.

There is a ban on bayonets in the Geneva convention, but it only bans "spike" bayonets (bayonets that aren't knives, just straight spikes with 3 sides) because a stab from one of those is almost always fatal, as a 3-sided hole is almost impossible to stitch-up.

  • @jedbeddo1 because you dont want to kill someone with a bayonet you want to injure them and take them out of the fight along with the 2 guys it takes to carry that person away so instead of one guy you are disabling 3

  • @FateNWolf its not that hard to sharpen it

  • @FateNWolf its not a knife and it doesnt have to be sharpened it will rip ur heart out dull or not mostly used for digging

  • great vid,question ???--- Will That Bayonet Fit An AK47 ??? Thanks

  • Also used on the G36

  • whare did you get it ?

  • @cyberjackcyberjack

these were just lying around on the streets after the cold war

  • @GearBuyersGuide Daaamn dude!I LIVE in Bulgaria and never found one!

  • i have a question for you, I've been asking around and been getting mixed answers. I'm about to go camping and I'm stuck between 2 knives to take. would recommend this type of bayonet or a Glock 81. please give this some thought. thanks.

  • @mlm37027

bayonets are not knives, if you want a cutting edge like a knife go with the glock knife

  • I have a question is ak 47 first bayonets are sharp and heavy duty ? because I will buy an ak 47 bayonet the sword like one first series. and Im really confused to get ak 47 bayonet or glock 81! please if you have tested which one you advise me?

    Thank you.

  • @Metalicalypse bayonets are not knives, if you want a cutting edge like a knife go with the glock knife

  • wait is that a real bayonet or one for like airsoft guns?

  • @passthecash

    many of them, yes

  • @GearBuyersGuide What's up with Russia and barbed wire? all these Russian knives have some way to cut barbed wire. WTF are people doing in Russia that involves so much cutting of barbed wire?

  • @009jorge1 haha

  • подделка

  • wow, that wire cutting feature is very clever.

    great video mate

  • russin are obsessed with barbed wire

  • cool man :D a have an old version of ak 47 bayonet

  • Ha ha, you wouldnt want to use it because you might break it! Wouldnt stabbing someone with a bayonette in the first place be the biggest issue?

  • It would be pretty funny if the russian military ordered all of there bayonets from ebay xD

  • I have a bulgarian version. Any idea where I could get a Izmash and Tula version?

  • @TheAk47Enthusiast

  • is your other channel gunwebsites?

  • @lilham10809

    Yup

  • That's an hb-5

  • I just got mine a couple of days ago, love it!

  • @ ayonkish

Wrong, you have no idea what you are talking about

  • i laugh at your ignorance

  • @Mrsheytun nice reply, cant see why people takes it so hard, i mean, i wasnt aware of people collecting weapons at the time. i fully understand why :P

  • ?? Why ??

Why would you own a brown dog, or a 4 door car or a picture ??

"Why" is up to the person with money who is decidng what to buy

Not trying to be rude, but what kind of question is that?

  • @GearBuyersGuide , a brown dog, a 4 door car and a picture arent tools of destruction. you would own a brown dog for its company, a 4 door car because most cars come with it, and a picture to please your eye. lets try not to ask questions about the questions here and tell me, what would you use a bayonet for? what is the purpose for a person to own a bayonet? what is the purpose of having an AK-47 at home? still not trying to be rude, though yoyoma102 has a different point of view.

  • Why to possessions need to be justified by a third party?

    I own a lot of AK47 bayonets

I own them to collect them, no other reason

You are attempting to imply objects have some kind of designated use and that should prohibit their legality

I don't agree. I feel the human being is the ultimate responsible entity, not the object

If harm is done, it is a person doing it who is at fault, not the object they are using

Who wants to live in a nerf world with no forks or knives?

  • @GearBuyersGuide , "I own a lot of AK47 bayonets

I own them to collect them, no other reason " just the answer i needed:) i just thought for a minute that u were maybe hunting deer with bayonets or sumtin like that. i like forks, knives and spoons.

  • @GearBuyersGuide dude... if cops had to take down purps with nerf guns I'd start watching cops.

  • @GearBuyersGuide nerf world would be AWESOME!!!!

  • @EnSvettFot to stab a zombie!

  • @EnSvettFot I own an AK-47 bayonet that I sharpened and use as a utility knife. I find military-built items to be very durable and work well for many tasks. Was a bayonet made for cutting twine off bales of straw? No.Can it be used like that anyway? Yes. Does it NEED to be used to kill people? OF COURSE NOT! I own one and guess how many people I've killed:ZERO!

I also own rifles intended to be used in a military. Were they intended to shoot empty milk cartons? No. Do I enoy doing so anyway? Yes.

  • @ImWatchinTheTube hey thats cool, but you cant assume i think people indend to use things for secondary use, can you? i asked a question because i was unsure, thanks for replying but why the damn hostility?

  • @EnSvettFot

Because just about anyone having an interest in weapons is considered a criminal in most people's eyes no matter what they are used for. Imagine if it was considered bad wearing a shirt, and have everyone gang up on you just because you are, some taking their kids away from there and many just being generally idiotic since people don't consider it a crime to act in a criminal way when they consider themselves to be the authority on the area.

  • @LRAJ88 yeah man, i know that after being told that same shit like three times now. and all of a sudden im ganging up on you guys. a gun is designed for KILLING PEOPLE, at least the AK sure is, and you guys are trying to make me look like a fool because i wondered what you did with these things. and i asked this question like 10 months ago and you're probably the fourth person bumping this solved issue.

  • @EnSvettFot Alright, I apologize for coming off as being hosile, that wasn't my intent. I'm glad you can now understand another point of view, whether you accept it and share that view or not.

On the other hand I don't view the uses I use it for as secondary at all. For me, and pretty much everyone not issued one in the military, those ARE the intended uses and reason for owning.

  • your a idiot

  • who are you calling an idiot?

  • EnSvettFot, not you my friend

  • What a strange fucking question, why would you want a fantastic firearm?

  • The bayonet can fix on ak47 ?

  • yes

  • No.

  • 50 to 125$ for AK74 bayonet? I bought mine for about 12-13$ about 3-4 years ago, now the US dollar is cheaper and they cost about 18-20$. Of course i'm from Bulgaria and that's an advantage in this case :) This bayonet DOES NOT cost 50-100$ - it's good only for the AK and as a collectors item, can't cut with it and i doubt it can be sharpened without a benchgrinder, because the steel is very hard. If you aren't a knife collector, but want a bayonet you'd better take the Ontario M9 :)

  • you are wrong

  • :) About what?

  • pretty much all of that comment

  • OK, obviously this is your business and i don't want to spoil it, but i had to tell what i think :) You say "pretty much all" -the first half of my comment are pure FACTS, the second is my own experience. The only thing i'm not sure about is the M9-i don't have it, but i like it. You have reviews of some great knives comparing to which the bayonet is pathetic. If you're interested in bulgarian military knives you'd better check Arsenal Komando knife :) Best wishes!

  • you are not even commenting on this Russian bayonet you are talking about a cheap Bulgarian version..

big deal you can buy dime a dozen Bulgarian bayonets in Bulgaria for cheap.. who cares?

what does that have to do with this fairly rare Russian bayonet here in the USA ??

You don't live here and you have no idea what Russian collectables cost here

I could care less about your opinion of bayonets, we are collecting, not sitting in judgement as you are

  • Well i see you have very high opinion of yourself and don't care about the others opinion. Good luck with this. Just for your information - the bulgarian versions of the russian weapons are the same because the same machines and materials are used.Ask any specialist and they'll confirm it. And you know it, because in the info you've written "Russian/Bulgarian AK74 Pattern". Farewell

  • you write smack on other peoples videos, then you get upset once we defend our position..

    good luck with that

  • :) I think that's sad to consider the truth a "smack" and i always try not to be rude on Youtube, because it's ridiculous to have bad feelings to absolutely strange people, but you obviously don't act like that. I won't bother you anymore with my comments. For the last time-Farewell

  • there is no 'truth' in assuming your Bulgarian version is the same as the original Russian

then defending that incorrect opinion.. no "truth" there either

  • Kaziklu came out with a very well organized argument, and although I know little about guns, I am inclined to believe him/her. GearBuyersGuid however seems to have gotten emotion throughout this discussion, and seems to feel threatened. Man up, and admit when you're wrong.

  • well, his arguement assumes a Bulgarian copy of a much more rare Russian collectable and the real Russian item are the same..

No emotion there, he is wrong

He lives in Bulgaria where their version of this bayonet costs very little, as they do in the US

He has no idea (because he ignores ebay I guess) how much these real Russian versions are worth here in the US

So call that emotion all you want, but I don't agree..

I think he is thinking of these as knives, while I see collectables

  • I got one of these for $50 one time and now the site I got it from is charging $125!!

  • Niiice , gotta love Russian engineering ! Where can I get one ?

  • The Russian ones are more expencive than the Bulgarians

Look around, lots of online places sell them

I get almost all of mine at gun shows though or through trades with other collectors

  • northridge inc but its expensive

  • Haha, you beat me to it.
