Its such an amazing feeling, learning bushcraft. I can walk through the forest and think 'yes, that plant tastes good in a salad, that trees good for carving, that trees wood is good for making fire, that plant has an edible root'. The forest becomes your supermarket, your craft shop, your home. Where did we go so wrong?
@Peekingduck Its probably best to take things slowly. Do thinks the way 'normal' people would so pay to camp at designated areas, take walks on established trails, try cooking camp foods in the garden so that you can find a routine, find what kit works and practice your skills. Read plenty of books and take them with you walking so that you can identify plants. Once you have that sort of thing mastered then its possible to go into wilder places and stay for multiple days id reckon.
Nice contrast of rise and fall of tide to city shots--really makes you think about how far removed we've become to even the simplest of Nautre's rythms. I love this series!!!!

Mate, Ray Mears is all about bushcraft not survival. Anyhow, weight depends on how much you know.
