Metallica fans vary loads, you have the metal bashing mosh pit lovers that listen to lamb of god etc, and you have the guys that simply fucking love their music and come to see the music, not beat each other up with knives.

Metallica mosh pits are about having fun and engaging with the fans, a few punches and pushes - other absolute metalheads take mosh pits as a place to break someone's neck etc and don't care about the music (don't get me wrong heavy metal bands such as LoG are good)
