Please, can anyone tell me of a keyboard with a similar function as the one he uses? I would like something that I can use to practice my modes against. Thank you.
Yes I can figure it out. But I'm lazy. I was hoping if someone already knew it, then they would post it. Obviously its a pentatonic lick, but I guess my eyes don't match my ears when it comes to those speeds.
Hey, great video, just wondering if anyone can tell me what year this is from? I'm guessing mid 90's while he was in savatage. Anyway awesome video with an awesome guitarist!
Pitrelli here looks like the sexy plumber who goes to the lonely Wife's House with a big Business busy Man as a Husband who does not attend her "personal needs" so he fixes her pipery and ends up unclogging her holes and everything
Wow... watching the intro to this video makes me believe he was held back in Megadeth, except for his solo in Dread and the Fugitive Mind (which was wicked tasty).
@alienspeedmetal He really didn't have much "work" with Megadeth since he was credited in just one song, which was the worst on the album IMO. Had he more input, I think TWNAH would've been much better.
@uofm97 Yeah, as if Mustaine would ever let anyone have a significant input on one of his albums. He's way too much of a narcissist to let anyone else have a big impact on the writing.
@ShowNoMercy502 Well, he did open up a bit in the mid-90s, but any longtime fan would probably say that it wasn't the best idea, though that's purely a judgment call.
@uofm97 It's debatable, Dave claims the others had a writing influence but knowing him I can't help but think that's just another one of his lies to avoid having to own up for the albums most 'fans' liked the least. But who knows, I mean there is an obvious shift in sound so it could be true. I honestly thought Countdown was a great album, the rest from the 90's had their great songs too but overall weren't memorable albums. Still, I agree Al should've had more input. Would've been great to see.
@ShowNoMercy502 that's probably the main reason marty has left for. and al pitrelli was the only guitarist could write such awesome solos as marty did but he left too!! Every band can have only one leader..
@ididregister Al didn't leave, he was 'fired' or let go. He was a session guitarist right from the start, and Mustaine just cut him loose when he felt he didn't need him and Jimmy anymore. It's unfortunate because Al gets a really bad rep despite his undeniable skill, out of all their guitarists I have to say Marty, Al and Glen were my three favorites. If only Dave gave any of them more songwriting opportunities, Megadeth would've been even better than they were.
What is the song at the beginning?

Hey cool,
I've always understood the importance of the pentatonic scale, but never liked it.
This solves that problem.
Thanks, dude.
Very inspiring.

My favorite guitartist, mostly for his work w/ Savatage and TSO.

I like this a lot more than his work with Megadeth. Didn't know he was this good.
