I had no card but had quit cigerettes for 3 months without a patch nor continual mj daily use. He sentenced me to 24 hrs com serv, 500 in fines, and 1 year prob on a 7411. in my 46 yrs alive, I have smoked with police officers watching nascar, 3 fda inspectors hanging out and being intellectual, a lawyer, business owners, a professor of metalergy .

First time offense, I got at least $1500 in fines, even though I used a public defender. I spent 2 days in jail, including about 10 hours in the "drunk tank." I had to attend classes meant for people with alcohol problems, and am on 2 years of probation with random drug screens that I have to pay for. Also, I am a senior in college doing very well, but because of this arrest, I may not be able to get into graduate school.

Man you are not understanding what he is meaning. People who are considered "first time offenders" in these statistics are people who have been given warnings before. I think what the Czar meant was referring to people who have no previous record, not conviction, of marijuana possession. The cops will normally let you go on the first time.
Police WILL NOT "let you go" the first time. I urge you to call your local law enforcement agency, and ask whether or not they'll "let you go", or arrest you if you are found with marijuana on your posession (in states without decriminalization) . I'll bet that at least 90% of the agencies will tell you that it's a crime, and that they must enforce the law. It is their job. I sure wish they would've "let me go". :-(

I very nearly became a Unicorn But I told them to test my stuff osee if it was real (it was) and the state didn't want to fork over the money to do so...I got lucky... But had I just gone into court and said ya it really was weed and I was smoking it Like the prosecutor thought i was going to do.. It would of been some jail time and rehab for me for sure

Can someone please give me statistics on how many people have overdosed and died on marijuana. This drug control dude on this video is a hater, obviously. @AeroHostale There are 0 documented cases of death from a marijuana overdose; it isn't possible. I recently learned in one of my classes that in order for a human to overdose on THC they would have to smoke approximately 15,000 pounds in 15 minutes, which is clearly impossible.

First time offense, I got at least $1500 in fines, even though I used a public defender. I spent 2 days in jail, including about 10 hours in the "drunk tank." I had to attend classes meant for people with alcohol problems, and am on 2 years of probation with random drug screens that I have to pay for. Also, I am a senior in college doing very well, but because of this arrest, I may not be able to get into graduate school.

unicorn here too m8, for and 8th of a gram i spent 29 hours in jail. lawyer cost where in the thousands, to make matters worse i had to drive to a court house 12 miles out of my way to piss in a cup. So that's 24 miles of gas to and from. then i got slapped with a bill for the lab cost to process my urine, costing me 90$ a month. I'm supposed to do this without a job because the lovely police called my boss and got me fired!

Stop the drug war. The war on drugs creates the very issues it claims to be fighting against. Many drugs (legal and illegal) are dangerous all the more reason to control them. Look at the statistics in countries that have decriminalized use decreases, crime decreases, infectious disease decreases overdose decreases.... There is no logical debate, drug wars are worse for society than drugs.

The double dipping into your 1.4 million is inaccurate and erroneous. besides anyone who knows the police and the court system knows full well one illegality can create a multitude of charges and eventually through plea bargains most charges are dropped.
This is to say just because a rap sheet shows marijuana as the only charge for incarceration don't think for a moment it was the only thing the person was charged with or guilty of. Shame on your Bush like tactics and analysis.

Tell you some: I'm a 21 year old law-student at one of the best universities in Holland. Well, as you can already gues I smoke weed. In fact, I get fucked up even DURING my essay writing and shit. I've been smoking it for over 5 year, I never touched alcohol or tabaco and I do not suffer any memory loss, health loss etc. Actually, I truely believe it made my life a whole lot better. Ive already spent 7 days in jail awaiting a bond hearing and have yet to go to trial and am facing a felony chanrge. I have spent thousands on an attorney and lost 3 registered firearms. Man you are not understanding what he is meaning. People who are considered "first time offenders" in these statistics are people who have been given warnings before. I think what the Czar meant was referring to people who have no previous record, not conviction, of marijuana possession. The cops will normally let you go on the first time.

Police WILL NOT "let you go" the first time. I urge you to call your local law enforcement agency, and ask whether or not they'll "let you go", or arrest you if you are found with marijuana on your posession (in states without decriminalization) . I'll bet that at least 90% of the agencies will tell you that it's a crime, and that they must enforce the law. It is their job. I sure wish they would've "let me go". :-(

I was effected in a similar way and my life was changed forever. not for possesing marijuana but for having sex with a girl 2 months before she turned 18.
