you fuck, sick bastard, you are killing this animal, i could never treat my iggy like you... WHAT IS THE MOST STUPID SPECIES EVER??? HUMAN... like you, congratulations...
I have 3 Anoles and a House Gecko in a bigger tank!
They get 6 feet long and the store bought Iguana food is equaled to shit. They need many different kinds of greens a day, and 10% fruits a day. Not to mention this video was made in 2007, I don't even want to know what he is in now!
Your iguana WILL grow up to 6 feet in length, and it NEEDS ATLEAST 8 feet by 8 feet cage.
2.GET RID OF THAT CANNED IGUANA CRAP!
It contains animal protiens which can damage an iguanas liver to the point of failure, resulting in DEATH. Feed it collard/mustard greens and bok choy with fresh fruit.
NO BUGS.
3. IF YOU CANNOT MEET THOSE 2 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, GET RID OF THE IGUANA. That is ANIMAL ABUSE!
For those who feed their reptiles dry food, please make sure you spray them with some water to soften them up. Dry food will expand in your lizzy's stomach and will cause problems. And of course, always make sure they have fresh water available at all times.
yes she's on completely fresh greens/veggies now, and in a much much much bigger enclosure. She's about to lay eggs for the second time in her life now. She's getting big :)
@CRAFTAKIAS how is it #1 they add animal protein to all their supplements and a lot of their foods so it is unhealthy for many herbivorous reptiles especially the iguana in long term life which leads to kidney failure or even liver failure dont commercial things you have no idea about
indicasatifa your iguana looks very nice in this vid! great job! i also have an ig i named gojira. i feed her similar pellets with high nutrition vallue and uva/uvb heat lamp, along with a heat pad for nighttime since it gets cold lol (its the kind that sticks to the bottom outside of the tank and inside i have layers of cardboard to prevent any burns or overheating, works well!)
lol crazy comments on here, bout the diet fresh is better and made up foods should only be used for like when you go out of town, i do understand its hard to have time but you can make it up the night before and put it in the fridge then zap it in the microwave for 10 to 15 sec. check out my feeding & lighting videos for ideas, its good you made her a bigger cage too, she looks good, careful zoomed food is dry and it has animal protein in it, check out reptileuv, com for the best lights too
hii i just got a baby iguana and im a snake person so i have no idea what they eat ...he is a very small green iguana and i gave him lettuce but i dont know what else iguanas eat..please help
Iguanas do not eat lettuce, try feeding your little guy Collard Greens. That is what I give my Iguana, since it was a baby because for some reason it wouldn't want to eat pellet food as shown above in the video also as time goes by and your iguana starts growing try putting a little bit of the pellets on your Iguanas collard greens and and let your iguana get used to them... or if u want you can also try buying a vitamin spray and spray it on whatever you give it.
check out my feeding iguanas video and my others, email me if u need more help and read up at greeniguanasociety, com and you'll need a uvb light goto reptileuv, com for the best
I know what I'm doing with my iggy. Her cage is now 5 feet tall 3 feet by 3 feet. She gets let out whenever she wants to come out which isnt all that often.
She is now being fed all fresh collards/mustard/beans/peppers/fruits etc. because the zoo med was too expensive to keep up with, and i now have easy access to the fresh food for her.
hey,you might want to read melissa kaplan's web site there is a bunch of good info on it.Here is what i feed my iguana everyday:collard greens, mustard greens, graded squash and parsnip, cut greens beans and cut sugar snap peas. And than the other occasionnal fruits and veggie.I hope this helps. That website should help too.
You should feed your iguana the commercial food only every once in awhile, and when you do, make sure to soak it in water or fruit juice, or baby food. Just dry, the food can cause dehydration. It is best to feed the iguana fresh greens like romaine, collard, mustard, etc., with fruit consisting of 20% of it's diet.
Also, the cage IS too small, but hopefully it's in a larger one now.
I know about iguanas. I've got a nine year old male, and I also work in the pet care department of Petsmart.
Your iguana seems to be very healthy, but no matter what you say the terrarium is too small for it. If you say that you go to forums with information about iguanas, should know the terrarium has to be twice the iguana´s lenght including the tail and three times the lenght for high.
Is good that takes the zoo med, we all are too busy, but try to feed it with natural food.
If feed it with carrots, don´t do it because of the fosforum. My iguana is also named Mariguana.
didn't require any training and the only commercial food I have fed my igg is zoomed all natural. recently I have had more time and available fresh food for her though, so she's been eatin the greens lately.
just to let you know(if you didnt) iguanas need alot of green veggies and fruit like bell peppers and carrots and green collards. you shouldnt feed pellet food becuz its contains some stuff that some iguanas are allergic to. and plus its not very healthy for them.
you, just like everyone else who has posted a reply to my video have not read the comments before posting, and don't know anything about the ZOO MED ALL NATURAL FOOD in particular which is made up of mostly collards and is good for iggys. I do feed my iggy peppers and carrots and fruit whenever I can, but its not always in the cards.
Sorry im not mad at you, but if you read through the comments on this video you will see why I'm getting frustrated with all the weird youtubers that leave stupid comments on my video. .
seriously, go back and read them. it's kind of entertaining.
My iguana is not in jail, lettuce is bad for iguanas, and misting it with water is done frequently. The iguana is in a 3x3x3 enclosure which is soon going to be upgraded to 6x3x3.
An update for anyone who's interested, Mariguana is doing fantastic! Mainly on the Zoo-Med juvenile iguana food for a diet, with occasional fresh treats of carrots, green peppers, fruit.. Mariguana is also in a 3x3x3 cage and under a zoo-med Mercury Vapor lamp for heat and UVB. All is well with Mariguana and to all those who slammed me over the months for "doing it wrong", get off my internet.
I simply give my iguana the ZooMed food in a dish right out of the container and the iggy will eat it when it's hungry, otherwise it just sits there. Sometimes it eats every day, other times it wont touch it for 3 or 4 days at a time!! annoying to waste the food, but oh well. Marig is very happy and healthy with the zoo med diet
you have not read my posts here at all have you? I do feed my iggy fresh veggies when I can but his diet is mostly zoo med.
Look, I checked out your youtube profile and found that you simply like to harass most people with iguana videos, so then I went to your myspace page and realized that you listen to rap music and want to meet rhianna. . . Your opinion on anything is officially unimportant and uninformed.
Are you a stalker? Interesting thats cool. I like to harrass? Check out the living conditions of the TWO peoples iguana especially MOE HES LIVING WITH BIRDS IN THE SAME CAGE AND EATING THEM. but yea, I would like to meet rihanna and rap music is cool because it gets me hype before games. Get a life and stop stalking.
Try not to be a complete idiot, you saying that the tank is "getting" too small is complete BULLSHIT. That tank is COMPLETELY TOO SMALL. Even for a baby. And the zoo med CRAP you are feeding isn't good either, it doesn't contain any water which can dehydrate your iguana.
Get a 6'x6'x6' enclosure and feed your iguana the proper greens, veggies, and fruit SUPPLEMENTED with the zoo meds formula then try to insult a proper iguana owner.
Commercial foods have improved greatly over the years. Believe me, zoomed pellets are good and can be used as sole source of nutrition. T-rex and repcal are reputable as well. Some people find it hard to provide a balance diet and these commercial diets help greatly.
Iguanas on commerical diets do drink a lot more water than those on typical fresh diets. Don't get me wrong, a fresh diet is better however many people simply can't provide a fresh diet. Reptigreens is a good alternative to commercial foods but I believe that commercial foods will be the recommended standard staple in the very near future.
Shut the fuck up. You are not a proper iguana owner...You can't even afford to buy your iguana fresh food. Don't you think he would enjoy that more? but no...you don't care its all about you and how much money you can save.
Get out of mommy's basement? Wtf...Zoo meds iguana formula doesn't cost more that $10 and that lasts atleast 3 weeks. Fresh food, well atleast for my iguana is around $18 weekely do your math you fucking loser. If you dont have time to fix a fresh meal you shouldn't be owning an iguana.
I don't think I've been outsmarted here.. There's nothing smart about your posts. It seems you have too much time on your hands to be arguing with me about my iguana over youtube.
I have too much time, yet you are right here replying to every sentence. You are a complete dumbfuck that doesn't understand how to properly care for an exotic animal. Grow up. Get over it. You are a loser, and everything you do with/to/for your iguana is wrong. Take some real advice. Because you are not leading your iguana to a healthy life. Jerk.
I more than doubt it, if you go on REAL iguana forums...etc. You will see that you SHOULD ALWAYS have fresh food available for your iguana. Not that canned shit. You peice of trash.
there is no canned food anywhere near me you weirdo.
And to your "fucking enclosure" question above, well, the iguana is long since in a much bigger space. I don't understand all of the hostility and name calling and whatnot, it really makes you look like a big douchebag. There's nothing wrong with my iguana and its almost 2 years old now. I go to iguana websites, I own several iguana care books and you have no fucking idea what you're on about. You're simply a troll.
Before making suggestions please look into what the food is made of. The food is fine for iguanas, it's the only pre-packaged food that I am aware of that actually contains proper iguana nutrition, so I guess I can understand why you would think it's not good for it. And yeah, the tank is getting too small. Im well aware that iguanas grow 5-6 feet long. Please don't be anal.
zoomed is good but I don't like how it turns to mush in water. Repcal is so much better although lots of people are put off because of the corn meal they used.
Also that tank is way to small. Looks like a 20Gallon. A baby iguana needs 50 gallons or more. Your iguana will suffer from stress if you dont get a bigger tank.
Never feed geen iguanas that stuff. Are you crazii? Iguanas need greens such as collard greens and fruits. You should have a iguana if your feeding it that stuff!

zoomed is good but I don't like how it turns to mush in water.
