@hellohello4225 The reason why they said that Jesus wasn't pleasant to look upon, was because he was a man of sorrows, they beat him to the point that they could not recongnize him. Jesus literly went thru Hell for you. No Greater Love than for a man to give his life for a friend, He gave it and then took it back up again. Gods word was truely tried by fire. He was not overcome of evil, but rather overcame evil with Good. It is finished, He finished what he came here on earth to do. Bring Light.

There are about 30 early (4th and 5th century) representations of Jesus saying he had short hair and was clean shaven. I'm just going to assume that, at one point, a famous painter depicted him as having long hair and a full beard. My guess is that after that happened, everyone just decided to follow that particular depiction.

Isaiah 53:2 "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." It's the latter part of this verse in which I hold my opinion to, "...and when we shall see him, THERE IS NO BEAUTY THAT WE SHOULD DESIRE HIM."
