  • The STH-10 was created in 1955 and this perticular one sounds like it was made between 1959 to 1978.

  • When I was a youngster, the volunteer f.d. use a similar siren, which was on top of the hose tower. Above the siren was a small red light that worked during and just after the siren blew. I did see inside the fire station the talgo switch that summoned the volunteers. Now the FD is mostly paid and are summoned via 911 call center.

  • Nope, It was rigged by all the Cement workers who used commercial timmers they had from work. It is crude but works.

  • @hildy475 Thanks for the reply! Maybe crude, but it gets the job done! That's one powerful siren!

  • If it sounding in Attack Signal, the timer setting is WAAAAY off. Other then that, nice vid.

  • @Siren1000T1 They probably just rigged up a different type of timer ive seen all types of weird timers some homemade.

  • I wouldn't doubt if it was rigged. We have so many of these types of sirens (STH-10s) in our area that they probably wanted it to sound slightly different from the others. That's a total guess, of course!
