I certainly hope they're connected in terms of storyline. The characters are voiced by the same seiyuu as well, so the possibility is there (instead of being merely recycled designs).

@zixil3 The last few Shining Games have been released in the USA. Shining Force EXA was pretty awesome, had great voice acting and was a lot of fun. Been meaning to try Shining Tears but haven't gotten around to it.

Actually, it's been confirmed already by Sega in several articles this month. Check Siliconera or Andriasang, whichever you prefer and they say it up front that SB's gameplay will be influenced by VC's style. Turn based and ability to move around freely in battle with a certain limit.

@zixil3 Highly unlikely. The Shining series hasn't been released to any other country since Shining Force EXA was released in 2007. There's no longer any interest in it (which sucks because I still never got to play Wind.
