Drop a brick onto a brick floor from a story high and it'll get smashed. And now that I think about it, it probably would also do that on your skull given its apparent density.
Yes that's all fine and good but the core is a matrix of steel beams incased in concrete it is impossible for them to pancake and it is very unlikely for it to fail just from a jet and a fire, if that was true the Pentagon would have a bigger hole in it like one the size of a plane, anyway get the blueprints for the WTC and if you know anything at all about high rise construction you'll find it perplexing as to how the core failed- waiting for your expert opinion.

A large portion of the core beams initially failed when a 757 decided to chop through them. From there the load was unevenly distributed between many less columns. Add to that structural weakening of the steel over time, and eventually the steel was subjected to to much strain and catastrophically failed.
Also pentagon wall much thicker than WTC wall. MUCH thicker.
How do you know the 757 crashed through the core, the steel encased in concrete in the center of the building would likely withstand an aluminum plane that would have lost much of its potential energy crashing through the steel beams of the facade.The Pentagon wall was thicker but the WTC core is a larger integrated structure. Even if it was severed completely through, it really is hard to imagine it totally collapsing into dust.
That must be new it only has 77 views. Perhaps it is accurate but the fuselage of the plane is shredding and disintegrating like tissue paper and it doesn't seem likely to be able to cut through the multiple steel beams of the core intact after one or two impacts with a steel beam i the wing or fuselage would be pulverized it wouldn't be able to continue slicing steel beams, that's ridiculous. The simulation isn't entirely accurate either, the elevator shafts are missing.

Now I'd imagine in creating this simulation the engineers followed the NIST paper for descriptions of column dimensions. This is outlined in detail and matches blueprints for the WTC - for themn to use any other column with would have been retarded.
Watch the WTC Core clip all of it- and the rectangular columns in their simulation more closely match the photographs and blueprints of the actual columns. For you to believe based on trusting authority to be completely unbiased and impartial is retarded. For a while I was on your side, now I seriously doubt it. Fine then, the plane deforms which means the WTC structure is deforming it, but somehow like the "little engine that could" the disintegrating lightweight aluminum airplane makes its way through all the steel columns before completely disintegrating. Neither of us is an engineer, I assume, and I'm open to any theory, I'd like to believe two planes brought down two buildings in an hour and eventually the entire WTC complex of all 7 buildings that day but the more I look into it it seems unlikely to my non expert self, one has to look for other things; why do nearly 800 architects and engineers claim the official theory is totally wrong and its more likely explosives brought them down, pilots doubt official story etc.

Once upon a time I believed something similar to your theory as well as my father who was an engineer and had worked on high rise construction. The pancake theory made sense until we saw the plans for the WTC, we couldn't explain the failure of the core, even with lightweight concrete mixture the steel frame wouldn't have collapsed like that as well as the outside steel columns. Even the animation supporting the pancake theory strangely leaves the core intact-duh. watch it.
Just watch the videos debunking the pancake theory. For whatever reason the "Official"demonstration animation of the pancake theory removes the outside support beams,ok gives us a better view even though its an inaccurate representation. Watch as they explain how the floors pancake but they leave the core standing in the animation- whaaa? Is it just overlooked by neglect or is it intentional, a read between the lines for observant people. Can't say but its oddly remarkable.
@roodeey ITS AN ANIMATION. We can remove whatever parts of the building we like in an animation. The animation is simply a representation of a SIMULATION. When they came up with whatever simulation they used to derive that animation, i'm sure they took these outer columns into account, and didn't simply remove them from the equations.
Also can you link me to the exact video you're referring to, cant say much else without knowing exactly what i'm supposed to be looking at.
Sure its an animation a cartoon made to support the official story but it ends up showing the core intact because the pancake theory doesn't work for the core.

For the 2nd interviewee, Dan Rather asked his OPINION of what happened. First, his name is Jerome Hauer and is cited by CBS as a "terroism expert" (5:34). So he made a very educated guess. All he made were common sense observations. No studies were needed for that. As far as changing the subject goes, did you watch what the video was showing? The video switched to the people covered in dust and he switched with it. Speaking about what's being shown on video is called good broadcasting.

I have had exactly one physic class and even I knew that structural failure was the cause. Just because the editor of the video didn't get it doesn't mean the rest of us didn't. Why was he chosen? @roodeey As for the pentagon, you need to understand that the pentagon perimiter is far far far more reinforced than the walls of the world trade center - It's harder to shift a few metres thick wall of concrete than slice through a steel bar.
And that's just dodging the fact that your other simulation fails to match video footage of the crash. Please tell me these 2 things to back up your claim:
1) The actual dimensions of the columns
2) Your calculated dimensions of the columns in simulation

Nist with the official explanation were definitely bought out ,they are government funded.

@cincofone science and my eyes tell me these buildings are all collapsing symetrically far too fast to be attributed to fires and fire damage alone.
You basically have any fire damaged area behaving exactly the same as an undamaged area so the whole thing falls neatly into its own footprint.
Especially with building 7.
It wasn't damaged at the base from the rubble, wtc6 was in the way, yet that's where it fell first much too fast.
Controlled demolition pure and simple.

@zenoist2 You seem to be of an opinion that a building is designed so that it can support the force of the above floors falling on top of it. To give you an idea of the differences in the forces involved, you may like to try this demonstration (or not, if you see sense)
Get a brick and put it on your head softly. You can feel it pressing down constantly but its not too much. Now go drop that brick from one story high onto your head - the difference in the force applied is HUGE.

They had no force on them apart from gravity and nothing crushing them but were totally pulverized to dust.

The top parts of the tower DO have a force imparted on them, in fact it's the force opposite to and equal in magnitude to the one that crushes the building below.
Drop a brick onto a brick floor from a story high and it'll get smashed. And now that I think about it, it probably would also do that on your skull given its apparent density.

Yes that's all fine and good but the core is a matrix of steel beams incased in concrete it is impossible for them to pancake and it is very unlikely for it to fail just from a jet and a fire, if that was true the Pentagon would have a bigger hole in it like one the size of a plane, anyway get the blueprints for the WTC and if you know anything at all about high rise construction you'll find it perplexing as to how the core failed- waiting for your expert opinion.

@roodeey I can't offer you an expert opinion - I'm not a qualified structural engineer. I can offer you this though.
A large portion of the core beams initially failed when a 757 decided to chop through them. From there the load was unevenly distributed between many less columns. Add to that structural weakening of the steel over time, and eventually the steel was subjected to to much strain and catastrophically failed.
Also pentagon wall much thicker than WTC wall. MUCH thicker.

How do you know the 757 crashed through the core, the steel encased in concrete in the center of the building would likely withstand an aluminum plane that would have lost much of its potential energy crashing through the steel beams of the facade.The Pentagon wall was thicker but the WTC core is a larger integrated structure. Even if it was severed completely through, it really is hard to imagine it totally collapsing into dust.

That must be new it only has 77 views. Perhaps it is accurate but the fuselage of the plane is shredding and disintegrating like tissue paper and it doesn't seem likely to be able to cut through the multiple steel beams of the core intact after one or two impacts with a steel beam i the wing or fuselage would be pulverized it wouldn't be able to continue slicing steel beams, that's ridiculous. The simulation isn't entirely accurate either, the elevator shafts are missing.

Thanks found more simulations- watch "WTC Core" - there is no way a mostly aluminum airplane could sever 47 steel columns, watch the "WTC Core" it shows the entire core as well as photographs of the actual steel columns which are significantly larger than the simulated thinned out columns in the clip you referred to

@roodeey What a rubbish video, apparently a 767 doesnt deform as it enters the WTC? This is critical to assessing the damage sustained by the WTC. Also, look at 5:17 in that video - do you see a plane shaped hole in the side of the WTC? No, I see a very poorly approximated one. But I do see one in the other simulation along with photographs and video footage.
I'd honestly trust the FEA performed by the team of engineers from a respected university, but each to their own I guess.

Now I'd imagine in creating this simulation the engineers followed the NIST paper for descriptions of column dimensions. This is outlined in detail and matches blueprints for the WTC - for themn to use any other column with would have been retarded.

Fine then, the plane deforms which means the WTC structure is deforming it, but somehow like the "little engine that could" the disintegrating lightweight aluminum airplane makes its way through all the steel columns before completely disintegrating. Somehow the wings that hit the Pentagon completely vaporized not even leaving a mark - you can't have it both ways it doesn't make sense, but it doesn't really matter what I think there are powerful people on both sides fighting it out.

The fact is you CAN have it both ways. A solid concrete wall is very strong, glass and a few dispersed pillars less so.

Neither of us is an engineer, I assume, and I'm open to any theory, I'd like to believe two planes brought down two buildings in an hour and eventually the entire WTC complex of all 7 buildings that day but the more I look into it it seems unlikely to my non expert self, one has to look for other things; why do nearly 800 architects and engineers claim the official theory is totally wrong and its more likely explosives brought them down, pilots doubt official story etc.

Once upon a time I believed something similar to your theory as well as my father who was an engineer and had worked on high rise construction. The pancake theory made sense until we saw the plans for the WTC, we couldn't explain the failure of the core, even with lightweight concrete mixture the steel frame wouldn't have collapsed like that as well as the outside steel columns. Even the animation supporting the pancake theory strangely leaves the core intact-duh. watch it.

Just watch the videos debunking the pancake theory. For whatever reason the "Official"demonstration animation of the pancake theory removes the outside support beams,ok gives us a better view even though its an inaccurate representation. Watch as they explain how the floors pancake but they leave the core standing in the animation- whaaa? Is it just overlooked by neglect or is it intentional, a read between the lines for observant people. Can't say but its oddly remarkable.

@roodeey ITS AN ANIMATION. We can remove whatever parts of the building we like in an animation. The animation is simply a representation of a SIMULATION. When they came up with whatever simulation they used to derive that animation, i'm sure they took these outer columns into account, and didn't simply remove them from the equations.
Also can you link me to the exact video you're referring to, cant say much else without knowing exactly what i'm supposed to be looking at.

That in itself is at least a little bit suspicious but when you consider the tremendous political power gained as a result of the attack it begins to form a probable cause for a REAL investigation into the administrations actions, which we have not yet had.

The president of the US does not control every action of the CIA, or even a single action of the CIA or any other such agency. It never was Bushes' job to intervene. If CIA, NSA, FBI or any other organization had actional intelligence, it was their job to do something about it without being told to do so from the White House - in fact, they wouldn't even notify the White House they had something major found.
How many hours do you think a US president can work in a day anyway? 350? 400?

Yes ... but to receive them, the "up above" would first have to be explained, in detail, about what those guys were up to.
That would be almost unprecedented.
Would you address this point, please? Why did, according to you, the CIA/FBI notify the White House of these events, but not take action, whereas the standard procedure is just to take action and not notify the White House beforehand?

Really. And just what proves Bush knew the attacks were coming again? If your only piece of evidence is that he was warned Al-Queda terrorists were surveying federal buildings in New York for attacks, I'm afraid your case is somewhat lacking ... to put it mildly.
