Good thing this was canned. They should have stuck with his orb like body and animation, then based the game style closer to something like Ratchet & Clank meets the Genesis Vectorman. This here is more of standard third person military shooter. Sega made the right call.

Thank God they didn't released it. I mean, c'mon. He looks just like Master Chief (not that is bad thing, but it's not Vectorman at all). Plus, it deviates from the original Vectorman games being a third person shooter now.

SEGA did the same thing to Sonic, but it took over 10 years to realize they were doing it wrong. Hopefully they'll save the franchise with this new Sonic Generations... Or not.

@BingBangPoe sad how many fans feel this way =\ the daytime levels of unleashed were the best imo. luckily, Generations offers both this and classic sonic gameplay...which I also love and hold a lot of nostalgia for. The other 3D sonic games mostly weren't bad..just nothing special really.

Not really. Mario, Megaman, Sonic (Well, SA, SA2, and Unleashed 360 were good), Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, and plenty of others jumped to 3D pretty well. And 3D Vectorman COULD work, just not like this demo video.

This was not a game, it was a tech demo,

they was showing off a new physics engine(seen in later Sega games like Iron Man)

they did use a vector man style character for the tech, but was never going to be a actual game., if you watch all it was doing was showing the engine.

Rumors buzzed that it was going be vector man, but that was just rumors.

Vector man was devolved by Blue Sky, they have not made a game since 23x baseball and PS ones Super man

It's called it wouldent sell . People are going to remember the VectorMan from 1995, How he was made of sphears and blasted his weapons through his hands . In this version it just looks like some guy in a space suit and looks very unapealing as well as lacking the nostalgic nature of the character . A prime example of a Sega character that stil steals the crowd is Sonic , He looks very similar to what he did back in the day of Sega Genesis and still doesn't look too bad on new age consoles now.

Change the design of the character, the weapon system, the enemies, the level design, everything. I guess Sega had no patience for this project. They should just sell the rights to a good developer.
