  • I love the messages and lessons that this movie send. Most importantly, women can do jst the same that men can too. Something that not a lot of people have realized yet. Mulan is a brave character, woman and leader and represents every one of us women in a way.

  • Yeah, Mulan isn't really a princess though is she? Yet people say she is O_o

  • this is a great video, kinda sad but, it show Mulan as the thoughtful daughter and warrior that she is, and not the Disney princess she is painted to be now a days, i miss the 90's

  • Do you remember running through the plains of Africa with Simba?

    Fighting monsters with Hercules?

Swinging through the jungle with Tarzan?

Going to the enchanted castle with Belle?

Going to the ball with Cinderella?

Riding a magic carpet with Aladdin?

    Saving China with Mulan?

Turning into mer-people and go under the sea with Ariel?

If you do or want Disney to bring back movies like this re-post this note maybe the Disney will see it and get them back for EVERYONE to ♥

  • This song is so beautiful! I love it and it worked so well with the movie! I honestly don't care what she was she was an inspiration to me and will always be a brave figurine.

  • "My little baby off to destroy people..." *sniff*

WHY DID I NOT GET THAT LINE UNTIL NOW?!

  • at first i was all, "Blue October + Mulan?"

    then i was all, :0!

  • Yet he who is not a student of History, will repeat it.

i don't know who came up with it srry!

  • ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮ JUST SHUT UP AND ENJOY THIS AMAZING VIDEO. Disney was made for people to enjoy.

  • my little baby off to destroy people *cries*

  • @horseluva765

Lol, I know, right? Mulan kicks ass, she should've gotten more respect when it was discovered she was a girl.

  • She's the bravest character that Disney has ever represented.

  • I love how it all, nice and flowy and heart touching. Then Mushu all like

"My baby out there destroy people *sniff*"

  • 1:28 srry coulcn't help but burst out randomly xD

  • I'm in love with a girl who looks a lot like Mulan. Don't think I have a Disney character fetish or anything tho..

  • It's very well done. I love the movie Mulan. I hate that they made a sequel. I do my best to pretend that it doesn't exist.

  • this is so beautifully made

  • I hate the way loads of people have been commenting on the historical accuracy of Disney movies /: They weren't made to be a stupid history lesson, Disney took the idea and made their own version LIKE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE FLIPPING DO. Godsake. >.>

  • It's really amazing how ONE harmless little video can make people act so immature. If you don"t like cartoons then I would suggest that you don't watch it. Looking for videos like this just to talk down about the people who do like it and actually find it interesting is pathetic and it means that you have no life.Plus if children like learning about history then they can if they want but I don't think it should be forced

PS: I liked the video but the music didn't seem to quite match up.

  • @emmickoa i totally agree here. if you're just gonna go around to all the videos like this and spost stuff that sounds like you're trying to pick a fight then why post at all? it doesnt do anyone any good so why do it in the first place? GET A LIFE.

  • @angleable1 Are you a teacher?

  • i LOVE mulan , SOSOSO MUCH! (:

    girl power!! :D

  • @angleable1 And another thing, please cheek your grammar before you post. LOL it hard understand when talk this LOOOL

^See its hard to understand and sounds way more offensive. If you disagree please reread your comment. Thank you.

  • @angleable1 you sound very immature right now...I have heard the original legend of Mulan and this movie follows it pretty well. Its about a girl, who goes to war for her father as a man, falls for her general, at the end of the war tells only the emperor and her general that she was a woman, goes home as a girl, marries her general and lives happly ever after. They changed somethings, but honestly little kids don't pay any attention to details like huns vs. chinese.

  • I remember the first time I watched this as a kid, I cried because I didn't understand why they left her behind.

  • @angleable1

You're an idiot. Who cares if people make up nice stories? The Greek historians did it. If learning moral stories is a waste of time, then so is learning real history. The only reason we keep history is to learn from it, and honestly, we can learn from stories too.

Neither will probably have an effect on your life, so saying that we're in a dream land is just silly. 2000+ year old history is about as relevant as a picture novel written by a retarded child.

  • My baby is off to destroy people

now you should be proud of that

  • @angleable1

    you from the tea party?

  • @angleable1

sure hope your kids ever get over it and dont turn nto little assholes like there stupid cunt of a mother ^^

  • @angleable1

fuck you dickhead let your kids be kids asshole

  • So much history with these Disney movies.. I'm 20 now, but i almost cried when Mulan's father fell in the dirt when he found out Mulan left..

    Back to my youth :)

  • Correction to an earlier post by me: I mean "for" and not "fore". I apologize for the error.

  • I loved Mulan

  • love feel his your you

  • Very good song and video!

  • @TrippleThird

Please stop spamming. Also, "the opposite gender" is a phrase that means little. Since you posted on a Mulan video, and Mulan is a movie which blurs gender lines, you should understand that gender is not 'male and female', nor is it a spectrum between those two points. Gender is identity. It is whatever we make it.

  • @ForkInTheToaster42

stop trying to be so esoteric. Their are inate differences between the sexes.

  • @OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp

    The correct spelling is "innate".

In addition, you seem to be assuming that sex and gender are one and the same. They are not. One's sex is not neccesarily the same as one's gender. Fore example: I am a young man, but I have two X chromosomes and I menstruate. The space between my legs makes me no less masculine. There are more ways to think about this than you assume, and far more sexes and genders than you pretend exist.

  • I'k like to acknowledge Mulan as a heroine rather than a princess

  • @estherpoon630

I like to acknowledge Mulan as AWESOMENESS. But that's just me.

  • @estherpoon630 shes not a princess

  • @estherpoon630 Me too

  • @estherpoon630 Well...in this movie she isn't a princess. I like that.

  • @estherpoon630 On top of that, this is actually based off a true story, and the longest well known chinese Epic-poem is actually the story about Mulan.

  • @estherpoon630 me too. she was a kick-ass-heroine way before she bacame a princess :)

  • @estherpoon630 either way...shes worth more then 3 princesses

    ;)

so dont worry too much about it

    lols

  • I Love You No Matter What! How Do You Think They Learn?

  • I Love You No Matter What!

  • honestly, kids should'nt worry much about history.. they should be enjoying their childhood because when they grow up they wont be able to enjoy much because truth and reality sucks. so what if its not accurate? its all about moral lessons that wont bore kids to death. if you dont appreciate historical fiction i feel sorry for your kids. dont let them absorb seriousness in such an early age. we can only be kids once so let kids be kids...

  • @LadyOFtheAltar Yes Please For I can Not Help What my Per's have Done Only For What I have Done Will Be Answered in my sake>>>>

  • @LadyOFtheAltar I agree. :)

  • @LadyOFtheAltar Actually, when you grow up history gets more interesting and you don't mind learning about it so much (:

  • @Garanta27 yes. i agree. when we grow up. but like my comment. for kids. let them stay kids because reality can wait until they grow up. and i am a history nerd of my own country and this is where my interest started. watching these inaccurate cartoons because it became more interesting finding out what happened when i grew up.

  • @LadyOFtheAltar heck im 15 and I am nothing like my classmates and I feel too uncomfortable around people my age because there is always a stress on getting perfect grades from my mother

  • @LadyOFtheAltar If we do not worry about history then our futures will be filled with war, bloodshed, torture, and slavery.

  • @LadyOFtheAltar - I'm sorry, but that's wrong! Reality does not suck. Even though the world is imperfect and has a lot of sad and unjust things in it, life is still beautiful. Really beautiful. History is the same way. A lot of it is sad and shameful behavior, but there are many parts that are beautiful displaying human virtues. Don't be despairing! If everyone despaired and said "reality sucks so that's it" no one would be trying to reduce starvation and hunger and homelessness.

  • @PatrickSmithPhD or maybe admitting that life sucks instead of thinking that it's great helps us to do good for others. the fact that we do despair leads us to try and lessen the despair that is a part of ... well ... everything.

Being content or entralled is an ignorant and lazy view. Life is shit. We need to make it as good as possible.

  • @spankmymoomoo - Hi, spankymymoomoo. That's not how these things work. People get up and go to work every day because of hope, not because of "less despair". Hope in something better, something to work for. Otherwise people wouldn't do anything. Reward, whether in the form of satisfaction, happiness, or even money is what drives people. Many people help the poor because it makes them feel happy and that they're doing the right thing (they are), but it's hope that drives us. Not "less despair".

  • @spankmymoomoo - Besides, what gives you the impression that despair is part of everything? No offense to you, but only people who want to be the self righteous lord-it-over-you types are willing to believe in the depressing ideology of the despairing world. These people want to think that they are the only people who are facing reality and know the truth. It's actually a huge egotistical boost to look at other people and consider them trivial and insignificant. Don't be like them...

  • @spankmymoomoo - Being content and being enthralled are two totally different things. But what's wrong with being (shock) content, or even (shock) happy? Can't a man who grew up to marry his sweetheart, get a job, have a bunch of happy kids be happy or content? Can't a writer who writes popular books and wins awards be content or happy? ΔAttitude = ΔLife. Change in your attitude is change in your life. If you want to be happy and not so depressing (I suggest it), change your attitude...

  • @LadyOFtheAltar Your right, im in grade 10 now and im hating the amount of work. In elementary school not only was it easy it was fun.I miss my childhood so much.

  • @LadyOFtheAltar I love history and ficton and your right about life. But Mulan is a heroine more than a princess, same with Repunzal. Folk tales are about morals and how they left a huge mark on their communities. Weither it's China or who knows where.

  • @LadyOFtheAltar I feel sorry for you, as much as disney movies are good reality is pretty awesome too and there is plenty of realistic fiction out there.

  • @NeShaguNazad why do you feel sorry for me? these cartoons made me more interested of world history thus my profession, and what how can a fiction be realistic? anyway, i watch all types of movies. especially when its based on history accurate or not, i enjoy the movie and then just look it up a book or in the internet if it was accurate, regardless if it isnt, i dont let it ruin the movie. i didnt give you the impression that i ONLY watch disney movies right?

  • i just made this my new fave song

  • People, its a little kid's movie, do you really think they want to watch a movie that teaches them history. It's based off the story, and such, but it doesn't have to follow it completely. Parents let their children watch Twilight, a movie about "vegetarian" sparkly vampires and you're dissing this movie?

Personally, I love this movie, and have always. They aren't saying the Huns were bad, just that they weren't exactly nice to China. Get over it people, the movie isn't trying to teach history

  • @angleable1 hey, it's disney, it's supposed to teach LITTLE KIDS a lesson, not teach them about history..asshole

  • @Longi452 If you can't get it they will!!!!

  • i love esmeralda and i like mulan

  • really good, but i wish the ending was better. :/

  • @angleable1 it is loosely based on a true story, but only a few key things like a girl going to the army and her having a good relationship with her horse are facts. we watched this in history class and it worked great for learning about the technological advances and the culture. no one is able to tell us exactly what happened in this time to a specific person, never mind a woman. have you even heard of historical fiction?

  • @angleable1

    You wanna bet?

  • @angleable1 dude! chill out! its just a movie! its meant to convey a message (women can do the same things as men), not give a history lesson.

  • Loved the opening...

  • Comment removed

  • @angleable1 I think mulan was acutally based on a real story.

  • @johnlinshu8L its based on a poem which was adapted to a novel. It's called the Ballad of Mulan I think

  • This movie is the most saddest, most inspiring and most amazing disney film yet to be made and you caught all the amazingness in one vid, you had me actually crying and that says ALOT.

  • I wonder if guys in real life would like girls like Mulan.

  • @mstar217 I would

  • @mstar217 fat chance guys hardly like girl's controlling them

  • @ginellechoice, Mulan doesn't control Sheng.

  • @mstar217

They do exist. Guys who like the strong, free-spirited, persistant, headstrong type of woman. It's easier for them to relate with their men and those type of girls have a better understanding of the aggression and assertion guys have.
