  • Enginer has plug-in add-on battery pack to make a regular Prius a Plug-in Prius. It provides 20 miles on electricity and costs 3500 dollars. It is a great alternative for a PIP.

  • a truly good idea

  • The Hybrid plug-in Prius gets 10 miles on electricity. After that you get an astonishing 50 MPG. Good work Toyota!!

  • Actually what happened to MPG? When Prius Plug-in was first advertised it was introduced as 120 to 130 MPG. Now when its being offered for sale the specs are 80MPG. What happened?

  • How many MPG??? Just kidding people :)). I want this car.

  • Gas engine, cheap to maintain? That is almost an oxymoron.

  • Chevy Volt will always look WAY better. But not bad. I still think Toyota could get better gas mileage if the Prius used a diesel engine instead of a gas engine.

  • @1bentley4ever yes but a gas engine is very cheap on maintenance besides the diesel engine and diesel fuel quality is very important for a diesel engine and which usually brakes injectors and turbos. Prius is better looking but could be far better...too bad!

  • @7d7n I think the Prius is not as ugly as the previous Prius, but it still has an unattractive blandness about it. I would not own this car because I don't want one. I want something nicer. Maybe a Lexus GS450h or the Lexus CT200h. The next Prius should look more like the Lexus CT200h. Now THAT is an attractive Prius.

  • still could be better
