I prefer my knives to be made in the USA, but I'm okay with knives that are made in other 1st world countries.. Japan, Germany, Switzerland, England are just a few of the countries that I trust for quality products and you know that the people that work in the factories in those countries got paid a fair wage.. But I won't buy a knife made in China, Taiwan, Korea, India, Mexico, or any other third world country using sweatshop labor and producing poor quality items.
@xmoonxdoggyx No offense, but these are boys talks. R Lee has proven himself in different aspects of life and you're just an angry teenager. Joining the marines?!? Disrespected you?!? Do you realise how pathetic this sounds?
@kaziklu79 my father is also a gunnery Sargent. and would you bring an iraq made knife to iraq? NO. r lee is now nothing more then a face of product. and if he was promoting good old usa made knifes then sog would be my fav company. BUT he is supporting another country and giving them work and not american workers. they now just use the name sog as means to promote sales. as with "gunny" he will approve what he is payed to approve.
@xmoonxdoggyx I hope you don't plan to invade Japan again ;) It's good to support the local economy, but must i remind you that exactly America invented the globalisation and forced the rest of the world to accept it (using the marines includingly)? The patriotism is a great quality, but it mustn't be spread over insignificant things like where a knife is made. Take care!
@kaziklu79 when it comes to my cups, tvs what ever i don't care where its made but if its something that one day ill need to save my life i want it to be made in america. and it gives moral support to the soldier and if everything starts being made in china (which its already happening) i feel as if this country is getting weak and unable to support itsself (which it cant) i'm not patriotic at all, fuck this country. i'm only joining for the money.
@xmoonxdoggyx Well, you're right about this, but there are all kinds of excellent things made outside the States. Japan has a huge tradition in knife/blade making and i wouldn't worry at all about the quality of these knives. The good thing is that we still have a choice and if you don't want to buy foreign products you're not forced to.
I think a good soldier would bring a iraq knife to iraq if it was the best tool for him to trust his life with, when it comes to those things i dont think a good soldier would care if its made in korea, japan or any other country, its just whatever fits his purpose. When it comes to tools of life and death you cant afford to pay attention to what it says on the blade or gun. Hope i didnt offend you, i really do apperciate the kind of patriotism you show :)
@Humanius93 I don't think any offence was taken. I actually think they put too much of a high quality steel into a "wall mounter". It's such a beautiful and seemingly functional piece, I'd be afraid to damage it even knowing it will handle the abuse.
you disrespected me(joining the marines) and my father who was in the marines for 23 years and went to Iraq twice by making that knife in japan. he had your multi tool BACK when it was made in the usa and when i bought a power assist he saw that it was not made in usa and proceeded to put a slug thru it. way to go sell out, way to go
shut up! and take my money!

I'm gonna buy one of these.. Not sure if he made it to be in a case or to use but I'm seriously considering it
BROWNINGF150 2 weeks ago
@BROWNINGF150 It is made for both purposes. It is super rugged and will stand abuse, but will also look super great on display.
