I still have the VHS of Desert Vision in my collection from years ago. I've loved this piece ever since first hearing it at 9 years old. Very relaxing and I especially love the part where the eagle starts to fly and then we see that great POV footage. Everytime I hear this I think back to happier times with my father so hearing and seeing this again after so long means a lot to me.
As always....simply breathtaking! Thank you to both you and David for sharing your talents with us. I'm having a hard time imagining why/how EMI would "officially make a cd 'out of print'" though....just doesn't make sense.
Thanks for your work on this wonderful song; my dad loved it. I remember how he would watch this tape in our old apartment 20 years ago. Hearing this brings his memory to life, for me :')
Thank you! Third Stone is a great movie: great photography: great music. The story is a bit strange. It does'nt relate to anything. Its a pity he could not have put a Christain twist or "save the planet" sort of theme. The part about the oceans is very topical right now. Take care. P. Skillman
Hi Paul! the music & photograghy is so increditable on this. Why don't you ask Jan Nickman if he would be interested in a Youtube website showing sigments of "The Third Stone from the Sun. The photography & music for that is so increditable. Especially the sigment about the ocean & how we are from it yet poluting it. I would love to see it on Youtube like Baraka. Take care, Happy Father's day! paul Skillman
@loveflowers39 Apologies for not responding sooner. We no longer own the rights to Third Stone but that has never stopped youtubers from posting copywritten material. I'll look into it.
I have the Narada Collection CD 1. This is the best song of them all in there. I just love this track. So great, Piano is awesome, Guitar is marvellous, You are one great guitar player Paul Speer, certainly an influence for me!
My daughter who lives in the U.K. loves birds of prey so I sent Eagle's Path to her.You do such great work with both images & sound. You are a true artist. Oh by the way, I wish you would ask Jon C. Nickman to put "The Third Stone From the Sun" on DVD format. That & Baraka are my to most favorite movies of all time. Thank! Paul
There's just something about the music that just brings so much emotion to it, so beautiful, that you can't help become wrapped into the music. This piece brings tears to my eyes, beacuse of the beauty, rythmn and the video itself compliments the music so much.
Hardly there is a single TV house in the world without this CD in their database! One of the most used CDs for TV documentaries background music ever. And that Yamaha C7 still echoes my heart as vivid as from the land of no limitations : Back to heart, back to 80s and early 90s.
Paul, I hope life finds you well and still in mercy of creative flows; so fluent in those magic times.
This is unbelievable beautiful Paul, it really felt like I was flying like an eagle! The music is stunning and I just saw that it is still available as mp3. Thank you for this great post!
Thanks for the nice comment about Eagle's Path. It is one of my favorite videos that we did. Yes, MP3s are available for that and the rest of the Desert Vision album and probably will be for a long time.
However, EMI owns the rights and recently made the CD officially out of print though copies are often available on eBay and Amazon.
I've always enjoyed the music from this cd. I remember first time i walked into the record store, and this very track was playing. I walked out of the store a few minutes later with this cd, and have been enjoying it ever since.
awesome! thanks for uploading this! this has been one of your tracks that i've always loved.
there is still one track that i've heard before, most probably from natural states, that i'd really love to have uploaded here. it was mostly a very light, flute-based piece of music. very oriental sounding. would you know which one is it?
Thi song reminds me of when i go to hiking in utah
