  • Doesnt matter if he was outside crease! He got bumped

  • He totally embellished that.

  • He was out the crease and he runs into the guy his self

  • that was interference all day, coming from a rangers fan who hates the devils.

  • Marty used to be my favorite goalie and I would watch him ALL THE TIME but when I saw him slash his stick and just be an absolute retard.. I NOW HATE HIM LIKE CRAP!

  • marty was outside of the crease

  • Docs a dick

  • wenn brodeur so weit vorne steht ist er selber schuld

  • You guys are idiots, EVEN THOUGH he was outside of the crease, he got hit, so there should of been a interference call, he got hit and lost concentration, he fucking lost balance god YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID.

  • 69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper -Goals should be disallowed only if: (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed.

78.5 Disallowed Goals – Apparent goals shall be disallowed by the Referee for the following reasons:

(v)When an attacking player has interfered with a goalkeeper in his goal crease.

    Accidental contact, good goal.

  • brodeur intitated the contact thats why there is no penalty

  • 154 Canes Fans - 12 Devils fans

  • And that's the thing about refs nowadays. They miss the actiom where there is a penalty or they make a horrible call

  • 0.2 seconds or not thats still time left on the clock and i'm not sayin that just cus i'm a Canes fan. It was a miraculous goal for them. Maybe brodeur just sucks =b seriously yeah he was good in the past but people still lose their touch. Thats why he's being replaced by Johan Hedburg

  • Not a Devils fan, but I disagree that that's a goal. Boooooooooooo ref.

  • That's a load of crap. Screw the Canes

  • brodeur should be fined for shlashing his stick at carolinas boards!!!!!

  • brodeur was outside the crease 0:38

  • I'm wondering why the Benefits of Breastfeeding is the promoted video, maybe a statement about Brodeur? HAHA

  • he bumped into him by accident and it was like 3 seconds before the puck went in, what is this announcer on?

  • "Good for him he's taking a walk"

No he's being a fucking baby. Shut up Chico

  • @dreamseller1135 He actually sad, "He's taken a lot"

  • "He's not complaining about the goal" Then what the fuck is he complaining about? American Idol?

  • Someone better check the expiry date on Brodeur.

  • Yes the announcer it a NJ Devil ass licker and he condones Brodeur acting like a pathetic spoiled brat after loosing.

  • He was outside the crease. Go Canes!!! Time for Brodeur to retire! HE SUCKS!!

  • I'm not a fan of either team, but that's a good goal.

  • 10 people are Devils fans...

  • @iEpicUsername look at what you just said unless its "incidental" contact which it was learn to read

  • @iEpicUsername 10 people suck

  • I hate people who don't know what their talking about, like all the conversation below.

As Rule 69.4 states: If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease.

That means "No Goal" read up

  • @x30xSabresFan

    "other than incidental contact"

    That means its a goal

  • @x30xSabresFan "incidental contact" number 36 was never looking at the goalie and was skating across the goal outside of the crease. It just so happened the goalie was wandering too far out. If not please find me the definition of incidental contact

  • @x30xSabresFan

you dont have to be mad that the canes have 1 Stanley cup whereas buffalo has 0......

Jussi did not initiate any contact. If you watch again you can see Brodeur comes out into Jokinen NOT the other way around.... which is also known as 'incidental conduct". You need to read up.

  • this goal was a good goal, but on the third one he was bumped and the game winner in game 2 he got bumped. carolina was running into him this whole series and the refs kept letting it go. when he asked the ref why there wasent a penalty, the ref said because he had enough time to reset himself, not because it wasent a penalty. thats why he was pissed.

  • "As a Canes fan, you can't say he was outside of the crease." Um... huh? Looks pretty clear to me he was.

  • @Jeromeo87 Nah he said "As a Canes fan you can't say hes outside the crease so you can hit him"

  • This announcer is an idiot, I'm not being a homer, sir yes you are.....Brodeur is a great goalie and every thing but get over yourself, you came out of the crease and cause incidental contact between you and Jokinen. Good no call by the refs!!

  • the contact didnt stop brodeur from making the save

  • @superhockeyboy Yes but a penalty should have been called... Which means they wouldnt have had the chance to shot the puck cuz play would have been stopped due to the penalty and they would have a faceoff... Thats just bad reffing... Im a leaf fan so im not picking sides or anthing but the ref is shit... That was a no goal in my eyes.

  • @PianoXfan1 nah, no penalty. it was coincidental, plus marty was outside of the crease anyway, which technically makes it not goaltender interference.

  • @PianoXfan1 nah, no penalty. it was coicidental, plus marty was outside of the crease.

  • Resch is an utter joke - Brodeur is clearly outside the crease. If only he hadn't slept with his sister-in-law, this all could have been avoided.

  • @muffinarm Oh, Resch is hysterical and I'm a Rangers fan. He is so drunk and so funny. I wish teh rangers had him. He's the Phil Rizzuto of hockey!!!

  • annoucer is pissed also

  • marty is rite

  • @rangersboy99

    Marty is a spoiled douche!

  • It should have been a penalty, Martin Brodeur 2 minutes for interference for skating out into Jokinen. Of course the goal before NJ gained possession of the puck would have wiped out the delayed penalty anyway.

  • LOL that announcer is a dumbshit.

  • @MemoPortero No hes completely right that was interfierence

  • @TheHockeylover14 That's like calling interference on a player when Marty is nearly halfway across the ice. No way that need to be called, good job by the refs.

  • The announcer is retarded, that was def not interference, Marty was outside the crease, clean goal

  • lol resch is an embarrassment

  • It's so funny that people still think its a bs goal when referees, analysts, etc...have all put it to rest. It wasn't a penalty. Get the fuck over it. The Canes clearly have the Devils number every time they play in the playoffs. Here, game 7, back in 06, back in 02. BOOM!

  • @2006GoCanes what about in 2001, didnt the devils beat them that year? and 2002 was the devils running into a hot goalie, overall they outplayed carolina in that series.

  • @poopydoodie11

this wasn't 2001 was it? No it wasn't. This was 2009 not 2001. Big difference.

  • @AndrewGW88 but thats not what youre talking about in your first comment. you said the canes have the devils number every time in the playoffs, but thats not true, they lost to them in 2001. in 2009 the devils actually outplayed them considerably, except for maybe game six. the canes just got a great performance from cam ward. in this game the canes actually blew a 3 goal lead. if they were really so good they would not have needed the dramatic finish to win the game.

  • @poopydoodie11

i didnt put the first comment out.... he doesnt know what hes talking about

  • @AndrewGW88 my bad, i seriously didnt notice that it was two different people i was talking to. sorry about that.

  • @poopydoodie11 no problemo... honestly the first guy is probably a bandwagon fan. Im only 18 but when i started watching hockey around 11 i liked the canes and always will. The RBC center is like no other when it comes to hockey

  • Chico is a homer. Brodeur ran into Jussi.

  • Chico is a homer

  • Definatley an interference call, Bullshit goal

  • @iKRANK100 outside of the blue paint learn the game buddy

  • @HiiTM4N5595 So your saying if the goalie is out of his crease without the puck you can hit him and not call that interference?

  • @RexeWillPewPewPewYou He didnt "hit" him they both ran into each other,And the goal was 5 seconds after hit he had plenty of time to get over

  • @RexeWillPewPewPewYou Coincidental contact is accidental contact outside of the crease with the goaltender. No penalty.

  • @iKRANK100 not an interference. Marty was far out of his crease, and the contact was incidental. Marty had time to reset for the shot, which he does. The puck just goes by him.

  • good for him?

  • Not interference. Clean Goal. Absolutely no grounds for a dispute. Commentator is terrible and OBVIOUSLY biased as you can see the Madison Square Garden broadcast at the top left hand corner in the beginning of the clip and obviously does play by play for the devils not the canes and certainly not versus. Also, Brodeur is blind and/or in denial. Seriously why can't I call play by play in these games. These commentators are terrible. Close as it can get to a buzzer beater in hockey.

  • @hockeyyismylife His name is Chico Resch and he's the color man for New Jersey and a former NHL goaltender.

  • i was there.

  • Brodeur was far outside the crease, and Jokinen didn't purposely bump him. This was not interference.

Chico is a horrible color commentator.

  • The announcer is an absolute idiot. Brodeur was out of the crease and turned his right leg in to a guy who was skating on a normal line in front of, but not in to, the goal.

  • Good call. Goal legit.

Pretty heartbreaking I'd imagine. Heh heh heh.

  • To all the folks talking shit about my Canes, grow up. All of these negative, untrue comments are reused EVERY time we beat some team in the playoffs. Carolina is a bunch of rednecks! That was interference! Canes are dirty! Canes don't even have fans! That last statement is absolutely correct. The Canes have CANIACS like myself and the other 18,000 fans in the RBC. Southern hockey is locked and loaded because of the Canes! Let's go Canes!

  • @FridayNightDldoFight That's why the Canes have the loudest house in the NHL. Go Canes!

  • @FridayNightDldoFight

Wait is your screen name "Friday Night Dildo Fight"???

  • it was not interference because brodeur was outside the crease

  • @staalC12 As Rule 69.4 of the NHL Rules states: If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease. So No Goal

  • this is why I like John Forslund and Trip Tracy. They are good commentators. Whoever was commentating on this game sucked.

  • For the NJ Homers who keep saying "interference", look at Jussi. He's a good 3 feet from the crease. Brodeur ran into Jokinen. Start looking at the 2 minute mark. Jokinen's back is to Marty. He's going laterally and is not looking for Marty as he's way outside the crease. Marty goes and runs into Jussi, not the other way around.

  • yea the canes wouldn't have won if they didn't interfere. imo NO GOAL. And who would want teh canes to win over the devils... they dont even have a fanbase, lol carolina plays hockey O_O.

  • @Morelloo1 that is a clear goal... it wouldve been goaltender interference if brodeur was in the crease, when the goalie is outside the crease there is allowed to be a little contact such as the contact in the video which means it is a good goal

  • @Morelloo1 Its an obvious goal...and theres a shitload of fans of the hurricanes where i am, mainly because im from where eric staal is from, thunder bay CANADA...

let alone, the people that live in carolina.

And its not an interference what so ever, because the goalie was out of the crease, and since your a NJ fan, ill make this easy, ITS THE BLUE PART OF THE ICE NEAR THE NET.

And your obviously living under a bridge, carolina won a more recent stanley cup then New Jersey, Carolina, '06 NJ,'03

  • @MattBeardyKH202 the sad part is carolina has been lower than ever even when they won the cup. i like staal though. btw im not NJ fan im a canucks fan.

  • No penalty. Good goal.

  • Stay classy Brodeur.

  • That is soo stupid. If the goalie is outside the crease and it is accidental contact, it is not a penalty. Brodeur is three feet outside the crease, clearly should count. I am not a Carolina fan either, I grew up in Vancouver (go canucks) and even a peewee goalie would know not to argue with that call. What pussies.

  • @TOBranch: well, in a situation of that magnitude I don't blame Marty for arguing, but you're definitely right, no penalty, good goal. GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

  • he didnt get run over, and he was way out of the crease

  • aaaand the huricanes didnt win the cup so fuck them and what happened to them the season after... SHIT SHIT SHIT

  • dumbass devil fans. brodeur was out of his crease. he bumped into jokinen therefore no penalty.

  • @tryi2iwin

no he didn't. the player bumped into him. look at it again. he came out of the crease before the player hit him. so he couldn't have been looking for contact. that doesn't make sense

  • GO CANES !!!!

  • They both bumped into each other, so it's incidental contact. If the puck went in right at the point where Jokinen and Brodeur collided, then Marty has a case. But he was able to find the puck and try to make the save. He missed the puck.

The call on the ice was good.

  • Nice to see the Debbies fans here showing their mastery of vocabulary :)

Marty is such a little girl. He thinks he's bigger than the league and that he should be protected like he's the President. He skated into Jussi and he knows it.

  • I was at this game it was great game-if cannot not like this you do not like sports

  • HAHAH THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS TO JERSEY

  • @sabrejacker i know its getting annoying

  • Guys, I just heard from Betman that this game was reviewed by the league and an overtime was simmed on NHL 10. Staalsie scored with 31 seconds left, low stick side:D

  • I was at this game at the RBC Center the announcer was not to much of a Devil homer was he to the Devils credit the came back from 3-0 down to even tie the game

  • Yes Chico, you are being a Homer. Coincidental contact outside the crease is legal. Also you said it's not like Marty to act like that after a goal, wrong again.....In Marty's defense he was wrong here but I think he followed this game up with a shutout, as usual.

  • 1:46-1:58 shows how retarded Chico Resch is "you can't say he's outside the crease..." Brodeur is 3 feet out of his crease and is doing his best to draw an interference penalty, but it backfired on him. Hasek was the master of this play but every once in a while it goes against you

  • I was crying at this moment. but hey, it was emotional. But interference

  • LOL hey devils fans.... You Mad?

  • regardless of this last goal, if any of you ignorant people watched the WHOLE game.. you would know the SECOND goal was CLEARRRRRRRRRRRRR AS DAY GOALIE INTERFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!

this one wasn't.. Marty went out of his crease.. the other one.. the 2nd goal.. he was in his crease, and got nailed.. and it counted. Unbelievable.

  • This stuff happens to us all the time, idk why but for the past 5 years stuff like this has been going on and on to the devils. Brodeur is getting old, and he can't carry half the team on his back like he used to do. But that was interference, and im not being biased at all, he ran into Brodeur and like the commentator said he may not of done it on purpose but he still ran into Brodeur and that absolutely was interference

  • "What a motionally wrecking of the stomach game."

    What a terrible sentence.

  • this announcer is a fuckin idiot

  • 0:39-0:42 that is interference-listen to the broadcaster. No wonder Marty was pissed.

  • BROTHER ( BRODEUR ) SUCK !

  • Hes way out of the crease. Thats a good goal. I ref in the WHL. Thats a good goal. He was way out

  • @Tan976 no you dont

  • That is not a penalty lol. Brodeur was out of crease, which means incidental contact doesn't constitute a penalty. Plus, he had enough time to reset himself so that didnt effect the goal anyway.

  • Goal is good.

1.Broduear is out of the crease.

    2.The contact is coincidental.

The announcer should learn the rules.

    YOU CANT BUMP HIM

    ROFL

  • @meant2livefast Chico knows the rules, hes just a homer

  • @nhl555

And a goalie. He subscribes to the notion that goalies should be sacrosanct.

I believe outside the blue paint goalies should be fair game. Drop the trapezoid and make them regular players outside the paint.

  • I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks this goal shouldn't have counted either has no understanding of what constitutes as goalie interference or they are a blind Devils homer. Plays like this happen multiple times every single game and no one makes a fuss over it

  • he was outside the crease so it was a goal

  • its been a marty party!!

  • Jokinen has plenty of space in front of Brodeur thats why it should been goaltender iterference

  • Im a Blackhawks fan, but this play, even if he is out of the crease, Jokinen or what ever his name is bumped into him, he lost balance, and right when he got halfway up the puck when into the net. COINCIDENTAL INTERFIERENCE! Still, NO GOAL!

So, I dont agree with the refs

  • I am a diehard Devils fan, but when the goalie leaves the crease he cannot complain if he gets bumped, Marty was obviously outside the crease when Jokinen knocked into him

  • hahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha wow. he skated forward. should've seen jokinen. he's a goalie, so he's definitely not blind. jokinen was far away from the crease. not his fault. good call by the refs.

  • and there's jokinen in front " OHHHHHHHHHHHH"

  • This really was a bad call

  • the difference is one type of contact is called "incidental contact" which is purposely aimed contact towards the goaltender, which is rightfully pentalty worthy. coincidental contact is accidental contact with the goaltender outside of the crease which does not call for a penalty... typically shown in this example. Clear enough?

  • @arbysher well said. Plus, Brodeur went looking for the contact.

  • @dolphinsneu Not only that, Brodeur initiated the contact. Good goal. The announcer is an idiot.

  • @arbysher i completely agree with you but if i was brodeur i would be pissed too lol

  • Its a tough call... I mean the blue paint is where the tender is supposed to be period... we see incidental contact because Marty decides to come out to the blueline to stop a puck and Jokinen is to blame??? 1st off Marty had NOT established position... you can clearly see him moving as well... if it is in the crease you would have an argument but due to the fact that Brodeur was outside his crease and Jokinen went to the net you can hardly call it interference!

  • like lehman said, "u can't hit the goalie behind the net." So what makes it ok in front of the net? People kept saying "he was able to reset himself" that is a terrible excuse for the refs lack of judgement. If a player get tripped, doesn't he get up and reset himself? Yes, and it is called a penalty, so what makes this non interference call any different?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm sick of refs blowing so many calls especially this year (2009-2010) It is getting ridiclious!

  • Jokinen made contact with brodeur outside of the crease, by accident with his back to Brodeur. He should have never been there in the first place, therefore the goal is good. hockey 101

  • ok so when the goaliie goes to play the puck behind the net u can hit him?! u are fucking idiots and should go burn in a grease fire

  • Brodeur sucks with his 5 hole

  • brind'amour, commodore, staal, cole, hedican

    AWESOME

  • WOW, hes such a pussy. And this announcer wants to suck his dick

  • haha yea, announcer still pisses me off... Brodeur is easily 2 feet outside the crease.

  • @barbershop0525 r u fucking kidding me it doesnt matter u cant fucking touch the goalie u ignorant fuck

  • of course not u moron, but broduer runs into jokinen. Therefore its the goalies own moronic fault. but please, continue insulting people over the computer to make urself feel superior

  • @lehman18 Can't touch the goalie? Are you fucking retarded?

  • @DeSeanHoover Who doesn't?

  • @DeSeanHoover i don't have a prob with an announcer being biased for their team, i actually prefer it as long as its not a neutral station like NBC or VS. I'm a hardcore Ranger fan but i'll admit Doc and Chico (NJ announcers) are a great play by play team. Chico isan ex goalie and its a long standing joke between them about how Chico always takes the goalie side and Doc is the best there is. Even better then Sam rosen, tho i hate to admit but i'll take Sam over Doc for any day for a Ranger game.

  • @DeSeanHoover and yeah, Brodeurs a huge pussy I hate the bastard. I love it that the Rangers own him. Last week the little baby said its great the Rangers didn't make the playoffs cuz its always Rangers Rangers Rangers in the news and TV around here and and he wanted all the attention on him. So he gets what he asks for and embarrass himself in front of everyone as Philly bitched him around. If the Rangers couldn't make the playoffs then this is the next best thing.

  • @DeSeanHoover

    Chico loves Marty.

  • @DeSeanHoover dude it is the story of chico resch and his love affair for brodeur... every save he makes chico goes insane about how amazing marty is... i think chico is just turned on by martys gaping 5-hole

  • Marty may be a good goalie, but he's an asshole. He did a great job against the Canes last night...

  • ha he did a shitty job against the canes, reason why he was taken out

  • hey ref you suck go devils

  • The Hurricanes should have had a penalty that was a bad call by the reffs

saying he was out of the crease

im a Devils fan and he was in the crease

  • @MSavage59

Look at 2:03. You are saying Marty is standing in the blue paint?

  • Wow, this commentator still employed? "I'm not being a homer..." then what do you call it? Being a blind play-by-play man? Wow.

  • I thought he was outside of the creast personally, so i dont get what he is talking about, but that is just me.

  • Exactly. He shouldn't be that far out if he doesn't want to run into skaters.

But he's Brodeur. He, like Roy, expects to get his way no matter what. Why are the Great Goalies the biggest assholes?

  • messed up

  • commentator was heart broken. fuck, guy sounds like a homo.

  • Comment removed

  • the bump was not intentional and yes he was clearly out of the crease. it also seems that marty actually moves into position to get bumped. that's just my opinion though.

  • @pacman canes in the 2000's two stanley cup series, one cup, 3 confrence finals appearances and three ass kickings of new jersey. sabre fans are still worse than you but keep trying. Go Canes!

  • out of the crease....no penalty even if your Marty B....Canes own Jersey in the playoffs. Too bad they only make them every three or four years.

  • awesome series. Interference? no he was out of his crease. Quit whining... really

  • Marty was by far out of the paint, not Jokinen's fault

  • the crease doesn't matter.

  • Yeah, if the goalie is out of the crease then the goalie is the one who interfered with the player. Marty interfered with Jokinen.

  • @sp8161 correct

  • ya it doesnt matter he was not in the crease he was mad

  • Goals should be disallowed only if ... an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.

  • I think in the postgame press conference Jokinen said that Marty likes to come out of the crease so their team was going to try to get close and stand in his way so Marty skates into them

Was bumping him intentional? I don't think so, but he didn't make an effort to avoid the collision (neither player), and Jokinen knew what he was doing; he knew that if he just stood there, there was a good chance Marty would bump him

  • look at mid to late 0:36. as jokinen turns away from the boards and towards the slot, he looks at marty for a split second. just as he looks away, marty comes into view. marty was already set up out of the crease just after jokinen looked away. he then turned his back and skated on the straight path he looked at towards brodeur. he made no attempt to alter his path. he looked at marty then intentionally skated into him. he just turned his back to make it look like an accident.

  • @sp8161

Very nice try, but you are looking at the wrong time frame. Marty is not in the shot at 36 seconds.

Look at 1:59 on. When Jokinen looks, Marty is in the paint. If you look at 2:03, you can see Brodeur, who can very obviously see Jussi, move into him.

Marty made a stupid move trying to draw a penalty when he thought there was no chance he could get burned by his play.

  • WHO IS THE WHINER DOING THE COMMENTARY?

He was out of the crease. He ran into Jussi.

He had time to reset before the shot.

    No interference.

    Crybabies.

  • sore loser

  • and its going to be "bump a marty party" as long as players know they can get into his head like that. good goal, and maybe its a bad call by the reff... but slamming your stick into the boards like that is just immature. and kids look up to this guy..
