  • isnt the guy on the right the japanese cop from black rain, that movie from back in the 80ies? :)

  • i enjoyed this video Very much ^_^

Thank you for sharing and doing what it is that you do.

  • Perhaps someday, I will trust myself with a live blade instead of a bokken. Lots of practice before that will happen.

  • Hello, i study in SHorinji Kempo Sheya Ryu Karate Do (long name). I'm only a 13yr old green belt san (green is two away from brown for me), and i'm trying to create a bokken kata for my style. It's a very traditional style. I would love to have some form of help in this goal of mine. Please message me with any advice,. You have my thanks.

  • is this the CEO of e-bogu??

  • @kohajin love your comment. :))

  • Nice but I think that the best white weapon ever is Polish cavalry hussar sabre from 1600’s!!! It is the best fencing weapon ever!!! sabre is too quick, look below how many cuts fencer can give to his opponent during fight in such short time, any other white weapon: long sword or katana can’t do the same.

    look here:

  • @GregorMar sorry, Kendo moves so fast you don't see it coming. European sabres is truly lame.

  • @231171 Sorry man you saw too much Hollywood movies about "super catans" cutting everything and about ninias as supermen - those are fairytales nothing more.

Truly lame is kendo and catanas. You talking about fast? And you think saber is not fast LOL hahahaha, wanna bet. Lame is fighting with sticks, look this is real duel for sabers, kendo has no chance, and this still is not full speed fight to not harm opponent:

  • 1:02 YEAH HOE

  • is that a kinda dance

  • In the ipponme uchidashi should lose eyekontact.

  • im thinking of doing kendo coz it looks fun but when fighting do u have to do certian attacking styles or when in the fight do you just aim for somewhere and take them out?

  • @lukemc1878 Basically you take them out the way you can but there are some rules, to hit isn't enough. You have to show the right stance and the arbitrators want to see how sure you were of your attack. So you may hit perfectly with the sword but instead of running aside your opponent you stop because you thought you won't make it, then the point will be lose. The reason is to avoid pointless hacking with the light bamboo swords, you have to use them like the real ones: Give everything in a blow

  • Bushido is realized in the presence of death, this means choosing death whenever there is a choice between life and death, there is no other reasoning.

  • Do I really need a slow motion replay of the slow attacks? That is just redundant.

  • @HugeDeek

I bet u would fail so hard try to imitate them even with slow mo

  • @fiddlersblack that's because I would have failed the moment i tried to imitate them. This is the 21st century. Not 13th century when samurai or whatever slash each other. This shit wouldn't work then also because of the speed.

  • @HugeDeek

I bet u would fail so hard trying to imitate them even with slow mo

  • You guys are so awesome!!! i looooove this video <3 <3 i've been doing kendo aswell since the age of 9, but you guys make me feel rubbish... i can't wait to be as good as you!!!

  • i am a fourteen year old girl and i am highly anticipating on going to learn or at least try to learn kendo thank you for posting this video!!

  • @utadalovely Kendo is awesome; if you can, I sincerely hope that you can try to learn the art and become a part of the "Kendo community." Ganbare!

  • @heavyarms01h Thank you!! I'll try my best!

  • @utadalovely

Very nice to see some young people interested in such a great martial art!

    Keep it up!

  • ah that would make sense, its still weird that they pick up their feet and "cross" them

  • I didn't know in kata you are allowed to cross your feet/pick them up. Ive done that drill with shinai but kept with traditional footwork for kendo. also is he calling do when he is hitting men on the first kata?

  • @tflLoTuS I could be wrong on this, so please forgive or correct me if I am, but I believe in kata the calls are different. The Uchidachi calls "Ya" (yah), and the Shidachi calls "To" (tow), no matter where the strike is.

  • to stealth and sprawl

you two are both ridiculously ignorant. its not brazilian crap, and its not that kung fu and karate are useless. I assure you if any of you were in a match with anyone that knows either you would get pretty banged up. People like you are just looking for an online fight because you know you couldnt do it in real life, either that or your too blind or stupid to realize what your doing and saying.

  • parecen aguevados la katana es un arte para manejar no para practicar

  • Kobe steaks are the best, like butter melting in your mouth... mmmmm. I like Kendo. Japan is great. well, going to teach sword class now. everyone should study martial arts. world would be a better place if we all had self-control and thought about others... what is your opinion? have a great day!

  • @kohanjin I certainly agree with you. (I've had a few years' training in Shorin-Ryu Karate-do and I just began training in Kendo.)

It never ceases to amaze me that dedicated martial artists often give the sense of being folks who've made peace with themselves, and are often the very last people you would ever expect to go around picking fights (outside of professional combat sports, maybe).

Martial arts have actually convinced me that picking fights or even trading insults is disgusting. =)

  • I do juijitsu (traditional, not that brazilian crap) and i've been thinking of getting kendo-classes as well

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH

not that "Brazilian crap" bet you would get your arse handed to you come a real fight. BJJ is the fastest growing martial arts in the world and good reason. It actually works.

  • @Sprawl001

Works? Here's what works, mai thai works, kung fu works, karate works.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH

Kung fu works are you kidding me? I don't see to much of that in the UFC. You have no idea!!! Have you heard of the UFC?? I guess not. Considering you cant spell (Muay Thai) I'm guessing your probably a 10yr old little boy who has no idea at all. Muay Thai, BJJ, Wresting, Boxing they work. Kung Fu is a waste of time and Karate isn't much better. Try watching some realistic fighting in the octagon before you post stupid comments.

  • @Sprawl001

I'm guessing there will be no room for reasonable debate if you start childish name calling in the second comment. Come back when you think you can handle more than trowing some insults.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH

I'm not "trowing" insults, just facts. For your sake I hope you don't get in a real street fight and have to rely on your traditional jiu jitsu. I'll rely on my "Brazilian crap"

  • Everything is perfect...but isn't the attacker supposed to be on the other side? Or does it matter?

  • It doesn't matter

  • can anybody name the music that starts at 2:51 ????

  • AWESOME VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very well made, I've only been taking kendo for about 4 months now, so this is the only kata procedure we've done so far. But this is spot on and very helpful for those who are unsure on Kendo kata.

  • Excellently produced video, great to learn from, looking forward in more of your videos, thank you for all your efforts and for uploading it to youtube, for our viewing pleasure, ma

  • @mindartist1 LOL you're blatantly someone involved with selling the DVD

  • thanx 4 comment

lol, wish I was, nooooo I just like it, hey maybe I should be their sales person lol, ma

  • What are you doing on an U.S.-website...?

  • I've only been doing kendo for a year. I only know the first kata. It's kind of nice to do after doing kirikaeshi 20 times.

Yay e-bogu. That site is so awesome.

  • oops guess i wrote ushi instead of sushi

  • japan serves us rather well with their food , anime and sports

  • yes, japan is a beautiful country.

  • kobysan this video teached me alot thanks man

  • Thank you,Xchidori2375. You made my day.

I hope you will pass your next promotion test with it!!!

    Ganbare!!

  • thanks man

  • Thank you for your comment. Taro Ariga allowed me to upload this video on YouTube because I made this video for him. I believe this video helps your Kendo Kata improvement a lot.

  • nice kendo vid, but I live Egypt where can I learn kendo here?

  • It's rather difficult, most Kendo Dojos outside of Japan or Korea are in Europe or North America, if there is one in Egypt, you might only find it in the capital or very big cities and then it's a very small community.

  • you shud be able to do a search on the Japanese Kendo Federation website or just google Kendo in Egypt, theres bound to be a club near you

  • yes , and thanks

  • While I do not think that Taro Ariga would approve of this much being shown. It does however seem to be a good video.
