than use coal or even worse, nuclear power, energy systems whose byproducts kill millions of humans, plants, birds and entire ecosystems very slowly... in the case of nuclear energy, radiation will not even allow procreation to start with. Now re-frame your question if you will. Like the Christ, Gautama or Don Juan Matus would say: It is all a matter of perception.
and I forgot to clarify that you are assuming something I highly doubt is true:
That birds are stupid enough not to see the blades... have you ever heard of a bird running into a tree? if not, what are the chances they'd run into a blade?
