  • Also I do think we need reform but the democrats do not want to lose any power or their support from lawyers....

  • They would have lost several million,,why else would they have backed off? Remember AARP supported Obama during the campaign LOL

  • if a country is richer, then wouldnt it make sense to spend more?

we are one of the richest countries in the world, some of our poor would be considered rich in 3rd world countries

expensive to them is cheap to us, we have more money to spend, so it makes more sense

"mediocre"? in this plan, my WORKING grandparents wouldn be covered because of their age

universal healthcare has worked sooo well in europe and canada right?

i guess we can follow canadas example and go down to mexico though huh?

  • Who said we need to follow Canada? We were talking about a public OPTION for health insurance, not government run medical facilities.

  • It is more expensive when expressed in terms of GDP. Basically, we are spending a higher percentage of productive capacity on health care than they are, not simply more money. If your argument were to hold, we would have to be spending the same or less in terms of GDP. As for your nonsense about your grandparents, provide evidence to bolster this claim, as I find it highly unlikely that the AARP would endorse the current reforms if it would really kill grandma.

  • AARP isn't supporting the bill.

  • AARP is a health insurance broker. DUH.

  • AARP would support it if they could, just on the announcement that they "would" support the bill they lost over 60,000 customers.

  • That hardly puts a dent in their 35M membership. That's 0.2%.

  • gah i forgot another comparison!

anyone who brings evidence that global warming is a myth is working for the oil companies rriiight?

just like these bi-partisans "clearly" have some connection with the insurance companies riiight?

couldnt have anything to do with the trillions of dollars it will cost....riiiiight?

  • p.s. the republican party is FAR from dead

Obama rates 10th of the last 12 presidents in popularity

look around, go do a brief search on youtube, the republicans are not dead

and with the next generation, like myself, the republican party will stay afloat

  • you liberals are all the same

many democrats arent for digging the country into a deeper financial rut "blue dogs who align themselves with republicans"

you called officer lashley and those like him "uncle toms"

these people are the scum of the earth for being bi-partisan

wait, wasnt the nation founded with the intent of being bi-partisan??

and by the way, i think i'd consider you the "dog" seeing as you are essentially the living result of bestiality=D

  • You have obviously lost sight of the fact that Americans pay the HIGHEST amount for health care and get MEDIOCRE at best results. You have lost sight of the fact that insurance companies are not trying to boost profits by improving the product.

  • Ignorant comment, not only did my surgeon get me in for surgery a week from the day they went over my m.r.i results, my insurance company paid thru the nose for my operating room, icu and all the care and tests I received. I had not only my surgeon but the other 2 surgeons that run the practice in th o.r. that are innovators in their field. If you want better care, I recomend you seeing an ear nose and throat dr. instead of a proctologist to get the wax out of your ears

  • Statistically, we lag most first world nations in terms of infant mortality, life expectancy, and the outcomes for many major illnesses, all at a higher cost, even in relative terms. This does not mean that each case of treatment is mediocre, but when based on how well it works for out nation, it is.

  • because other countries bastardize what they call an infant..look it up swear thats a fact. Cancer rates and heart disease USA beats everyone else as far as outcomes. WHO scoring system also gives 25% boosts if you are a socialized health care nation.

  • I've got health care. This isn't about me, per se. Private insurance is greedy and wasteful and does not fulfill it's social obligations. I see no reason for their continued parasitic existence.

  • Sorry man, we are never going to get reform or a health insurance system that isn't run by greed.

Haven't you realized that the American people are too scared of their gov't and the word "socialized" to get this done, even though we already have socialized services in America including a gov't run health care system for our troops.

They would rather people work for mediocre service instead of pay taxes for something as silly as *laughs* healthcare reform. God Bless America!

    *sigh*

  • people are waking up to the scare tactics being used against them by corporate american and they are PISSED.

  • I really do hope they are...

  • Small health care providers are already under assault from big insurance corporations.

  • "75% want healthcare reform" BULLSHIT!! I can invent statistics too. GTFO of my pockets and let me stay private without jacking up my prices and premiums.

  • You just can't fathom how big a LOSER private health insurance is.

  • This guy is right. Govt operated health care is coming soon.

It will signal the end of the american empire. I think it is very amusing that america the great will not be conquered by invading hordes or nuclear annihilation, but by their own economic illiteracy and sense of entitlement! The next american century will look like european mediocrity and stagnation. That is if china does not forcefully take the payment on the loans they have given the US.

  • Speaking of China, it sure looks like we are LOSING.

  • Yes you are losing. I cannot understand how the american public has been made to believe they can afford govt operated healthcare. They cannot even afford the current size of their govt. The reckless borrowing being undertaken to prop up your system will be the cause of your destruction.

  • Your argument is riddled with incorrect assumptions. When it comes to insurance the government is in the position to provide the best coverage at the cheapest rates. The fear is that the government will somehow use or abuse this position. I am telling you the private insurers already are. That is a fact. We already have socialized medicine. It has been socialized by the doctors who pass the burden to those best able to afford it. Doctors can not in good conscious turn people away.

  • Private health insurance is run like a casino where the house turns away sure losers. These people get treated anyway, and we end up paying for it. They are a for profit corporation. They privatize the profits and socialize the costs. Vast numbers of people who need treatment are externalized.

  • It will be because we have allowed the multinational corporations to undermine the US economy by shipping overseas. The idiots one by one have allowed themselves to believe that they can produce in one country and consume in another.

  • They are pursuing less expensive labour overseas to reduce costs. Business do that and they should. I think the blame belongs with those spoiled american workers who do not realise there are many poor asians with a good work ethic that will not complain about a market determined wage. They are more concerned with feeding their family. When US companies source labour in less costly asian countries a sort of justice has been served. The asian is hungry for prosperity while the westerner complains

  • 1) Chinese currency is artificially low. If they valued their currency properly, they would not be so cheap.

    2) The Chinese don't have our environmental regulations, so they don't have that cost, which is gradually killing their population. Do you want that here.

3)You get what you paid for. Many companies are starting to lose trust in Chinese products after toxic tooth paste, dog food, and toys.

  • 1) They will stop holding their currency down when they are prepared to step into become a superpower.

2)By "here" I will assume you mean america. I have noticed that the air pollution in Shanghai. It is transitional. When the economic situation is right, they will have their environmental protection.

3)You do get what you pay for. Which is why so many people guy Chinese products. They don't want to pay to subsidize the regulations on US business and the wages of american workers.

  • The Chinese also have a much different stance on white collar crime. They execute them, In the US we turn them into media heroes.

  • Lol... wow. Please don't post videos when you don't have a clue. 350 Million Americans are happy with their provider.

Hell to pay? You're a joke.

  • I agree. Health insurance is working extremely well, so well in fact that it does more than provides Universal Coverage. It provides SUPER UNIVERSAL COVERAGE!!!!!! Apparently, 43 million more Americans are covered than actually currently exist, at least according to the CIA world Fact book.

Maybe those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

  • No one doubts the need for reform. Steps need to be taken to regulate certain aspects of the health field.

What is being proposed is not the right choice and shouldn't be jammed down Americas throat.

Maybe those who don't have a clue shouldn't use cliche's in response.

  • Then perhaps you should practice what you preach. First, if you are going to accuse someone of being clueless, then you shouldn't be making up figures out of nowhere.

Second, if you do support healthcare reform, then you should actually say so instead of making posts that pretend that there is not a problem.

That said, I can appreciate that people do not like the proposed reform. What are your suggetions.

  • What figures would those be?

I did say so. And have said so over and over again.

I've made plenty. Torte reform, opening up access across state lines are two that the GOP are looking at and I completely agree.

Fraud and waste need to be managed much better than it has been as well. Once government controls costs or plops a "Public Option", health care is on it's way down the tubes. Guaranteed.

  • People do not want SOCIALIZED MEDICINE..CANADA IS GOING MORE INTO PRIVATE AND SO IS G.B.. IT FAILS and according to the CBO and The Pacific Research Center this MESS you call good is actually going to cost at least 30% more. This crap is not free and it takes away choices on EVERY LEVEL.

  • We already have socialized medicine. What we don't have is socialized insurance. If you ask me we should reverse the two, public insurance and private healthcare.

  • Won't work, EVERYPLACE that has government healthcare has worse healthcare than we do. WHO puts fairness in play where CHOICE actually kills your score. Death rates also needed to be counted along the lines of actual health care and not count murder and accidental deaths as part of the actual numbers. CBO estimates at best a 2 billion dollar savings to totally blowing up, also we need to cover LEGAL citizens not ILLEGAL.

  • For 45 million people who have NO health insurance the exact opposite is true. The private insurance industry is run like a casino, forcing people out when the house loses.

  • Some go without by choice, others go without between jobs (that is over half of your 45 million) another 9 to 15 million are ILLEGAL ALIENS. What do you think will happen when the Government house starts to lose?

  • Between jobs? You mean to say that they can't afford insurance when they're unemployed. When the government starts to lose the get voted out of power and someone with a much clearer idea of what to do takes over. Like what happened to republicans.

  • How many young people who CAN afford it BUT do not buy insurance? How many people qualify for medicaid but do not enroll? Only about 4% of the people ACTUALLY fall into the catagory you claim unless it is made up stats not using the census info.

  • You mean how many people gamble with their health? Why should ANYONE be motivated to gamble with their health?

What about denial of coverage for "pre-existing" conditions? What about denial of claims for technical errors on contracts?

SHEESH, you really don't get it at all, do you?

  • It is their choice, you don't understand freedom and you do not understand what this country was built on do you Marxist?

  • My understanding of freedom exceeds your juvenile definition.

  • Like I said you are a Marxist.

  • I am not going to waste any time refuting that preposterous claim.

  • Because you do not believe in the responsability for one to take care of one's self...government is not a nanny. All I can say is Hitler thought he was doing the right thing as well LOL

  • Being denied coverage is whose choice? You fear death panels and rationing, but what do you think the current health insurance industry is basically doing?

As for Marxism, this is strawman. Canada and Great Britain are hardly Marxist, and the proposals out of DC still fall to the right of those nations.

  • why so socialist?

  • Define the major tennets of Socialism and Communism. Explain how they differ, and explain how current implementations differ from Marx's view.

  • WHY SO SOCIALIST heading down the road to Marxist? Was the governments take over of student loans planned or did it just accidently happen from a bill over a decade old?

  • Again, don't use words that you have only heard from pundits. Also, what you are engaging in is the slippery slope fallacy. Your arguments are irrational. Universal health care would put us on par with Canada in terms of socialism. I will not continue to beat my head against the brick wall that is your skull until you answer my questions.

  • you are a light weight

  • Socialism-

    1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

    2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.

    3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

    Dang it is in there!

  • You should look up the concept of natural monopoly. The progressives are not in favor of nationalizing everything. There is some property that is public by its very nature, like air and water. There are also others that prove to be important utilities like electricity and highways. We only want to nationalize those parts that are performing POORLY.

  • Cap and tax is the taxation of air over piss poor science and piss poor logic. Obama is a Commy Chameleon

  • I would have preferred a straight carbon tax but wouldn't you know it we need to prove the market fails first. We'll see how Goldman Sachs fucks us all in the ass with it.

As far as science goes, climate science is on solid ground. You climate change deniers should get a fucking education.

  • I would run my education against most any liberal ass hat here. Fact is all the models the global drones made 3-4 years ago when they were throwing their hissy fit is OFF and the EPA failed to release their findings that suggested global warming didn't exist. Gasses that exist in nature are now trying to be called polution. Marxist as hats though bastardize anything and everything they can for power. Ever hear the Czars speak? Van Jones doesn't sound like he made it past the 8th grade.

  • Then again Barack Obama sounds like a high school kid without the old teleprompter...Mark Lloyd idolizes Hugo Chavez and about half of the party think Che Guevara and Fidel Castro are some type of people to idolize as well.

  • Well I can see why you lie about him. I would be in favor of a fairness doctrine that exists to counter the outright LIES spread in conservative talk programming.

  • lie? The party I am ashamed to say I was in for the last 20 years can not tell the truth or explain what is in the stupid bill, but rather than answer for it they claim everyone is lying. Funny thing is you are saying pro communistic / nazi tactics are ok now because they are to protect the "great society"..sit back and look how sick that sounds or even looks. If these were all lies why isn't anyone debunking any of it? LOL

  • If you're talking about that douchebag alan carlin he is no scientist and he is making controversy over the fact the EPA never asked for his ignorant opinion in the first place. You guys get sucked into these stupid distractions.

  • 200,000 people have cancelled going to the global warming summit because it is FAKE...The last 3 years can not be explained by their "science"

  • I can explain it in two words: El Nino

  • Sureee and the world was going to freeze in the 70's and early 1900's

  • Science is a process of refinement. We did not have anywhere near the same level of knowledge or computing power back then. Our ability to study the climate has increased exponentially since the 70's. You guys are still using anecdotes.

  • And your flat earth science side is using incomplete and faulty science...why have a few scientists who were firmly on the warming trend suddenly flip?

  • Science is always incomplete and faulty. That doesn't mean you get to drive your pet theory through it. If you're referring to that idiot Inhofe's list of names, I wouldn't trust a republican to give me the accurate time of day.

  • All you have to do is look at actual data over the last 10 years and know they are lying, the "scientists" even put their equipment in poor locations on purpose in 2 of the temprature taking locations..yes that is documented as well.

  • They have demonstrated that the rise in temperature can not be attributed purely by solar activity.

  • Over the last 10 years the temps have dropped, infact since Gore's movie the earth has cooled at a high rate...it's called climate change and has happened for billions of years...LOL

  • Not according to NASA. Especially not at the poles where all that ice was.

  • NASA? 1 of the 2 nut bars who started the new ice age scare from NASA in the 70's is Al Gore's right hand man Hanson. He is also a radical that was arrested during a protest in West Virginia..

  • This is not 1970. We have more advanced technology. Try to fit that in your brain.

  • I am well aware of that but from the looks of it your NASA statists do not know what year it is...earth has been getting cooler since 1998

  • why didn't you leave on you tin foil hat for this video?

  • Bluu Dog 4 Life! 202! BrrrrrrrrrrAT!

  • Maybe I'm still too young and naive about politics. But can't we get together as a nation without squabbling about Democrat versus Republican?

Is it necessary to give idle threats to the "blue dogs" or whatever other group or label one wants to throw around? I feel this type of talk is the root of what's evil with our political system.

One shouldn't get away with idle threats and rhetoric. Just because Rush-Hannity & Co versus the Maher-Colbern crowd do it doesn't make it right.

    IRV FTW

  • lol....you're always my favorite John.

  • Everyone needs access to up to date affordable health care. But we are talking about one sixth of our national budget! I don't want just anything with the label "health care" slapped on it. How can we be sure this isn't just a package that gives assorted people a free shot at stealing the national wealth? That is what ever wealth we still have left. I hope they are going over this with a fine tooth comb to remove the snags in advance of voting. Too much depends on getting it right the first time

  • I agree, even those who do not vote and know little about what is going on in the world are talking about health care and the need to have affordable coverage.
