no, 270 is not the max speed. i've seen some run around 304 stock. and if you're referring to the 2011 zx10r, the answer is not quite. they are very close but according to various motorcycle reviews, comparisons, and other random people who have those 2 bikes, it's not quite as fast as the s1000rr, but like i said, very close to it
Sweet bike. But I'm actually not impressed with the acceleration as any liter bike is just as capable (depending who is piloting it).
What I am impressed with, however, is the fact that they (BMW) managed to put out a proper sport bike on their first try. Good job BMW, keep it up! Next time though, make it a little bit more interesting in the aesthetics department. The S1000RR looks too much like a Japanese bike, which isn't a bad thing but it doesn't make it stand out either.

@lnromandude Even without a quickshifter you can upshift almost any bike without the clutch. I do it all the time with my GSX-R750 on the racetrack.
