  • Lovely voices...my favourite opera of all time.

  • Gracias Onegin65

  • corelli is caught here after his golden years, but it's still a respectable rendition.

but ligabue is a real discovery to me. an underestimated singer: gorgeously beautiful voice, always round and strong, no strain to be heard, wonderfully rich and easy trom the bottom to the top. thank you!!

  • BRAVI!

  • @Cantormatis its called a morendo (a gradual dying away)

  • Of course, my mistake! Corelli's thrilling performance of teh aria "Celese AIda" which he caps with a dazzling high B-flat that he immediately scales back to an ardent pianissimo, an effect Verdi requested in his score but that few tenors are capable of delivering comfortably.

And the Strata in "Trovatore" brings me to tears.

    Bellismio!

  • FRANCO CORELLI: The more Heroic Radames, the more Expressive the fairest level of vocal and acting, without a doubt the most beautiful tenor voice and appropriate for this grand opera of eternal Master G. Verdi.

    * Thanks *Onegin65* by Permanent Remember this!

  • I agree with Cavaradossi10, Onegin has shown wonderful dedication in posting these wonderful gems from the past for all of us to enjoy. The total contribution from ultiple operas is priceless and has given me hours of enjoyment.

  • Corelli is still one of the best if not the best Radames. Not many after him were able to sing the high c out like Verdi intended. Powerful but still with emotion.

  • I love Corelli, one of my favorites ever, but... high C? Where? And when Verdi intended it? In which opera?

  • EL Más Heróico Radamés, el Más Expresivo, el Más Justo a nivel Vocal y de Actuación, sin duda el Tenor de Voz Más Bella y Apropiada, para ésta Gran Opera del Eterno Maestro G. Verdi.

¡¡¡BRAVO POR SIEMPRE MAESTRO FRANCO CORELLI!!!

*Gracias Onegin65* Por el Permanente Recuerdo!!!

  • ¡¡¡JAMÁS DEJARAN DE SORPRENDER!!!!JAMÁS...jAMÁS...BRAVISSIMOS!!!

    ¡¡¡FRANCO CORELLI-ILVA LIGABUE-FORENZA COSSOTTO!!!

  • I too would like to thank Onegin65 for the privilege of enjoying these arias from Aida. They really are priceless!

    - with appreciation. ;-)

  • ¡COMO SE EXTRAÑAN!...Grandes Artistas...Para ésta Gran Ópera...¡¡¡NON GLI VEDIAMO PIÙ!!!(a no ser que se los Tome Seriamente y se Comience a Tenerlos como *Ejemplo Didáctico*,de **COMO SE DEBE CANTAR E INTERPRETAR** AL GRAN MELODRAMA LIRICO:que por Excelencia,es la ÓPERA.¡¡¡BRAVO A ELLOS ,POR SIEMPRE !!!

  • Just beautiful! Corelli was great!

  • These wonderful excerpts from Aida preserve one of Corelli's greatest roles. The combination of the huge high notes, virile timbre, handsome appearance, and restrained, effective acting cannot be beat.

  • Onegin - thank you so much for adding these wonderful clips of Corelli and Ligabue. I teach at the Royal College, Royal Academy and Royal Northern College of Music in the UK. The only hope out art-form has of survival is the accessibility of performances like this to the younger generation. You are performing a great service and I hope that the You Tube administrators realize that. Viva Onegin 65!

  • dear cavaradossi10 - how very, very, very right you are.

  • They sing wonderful both of them! Ligabue is gorgeous, my god...I know her sister very well! Dear Cavaradossi, please give kind regards to my friends Josephine Veasey and Raimund Herincx.Happy New Year.Just one more tipp:check on youtube Sara Scuderi, there is a duett with her from Cavalleria together with Ferracuti!!! The best interpretation after that of Lina Bruna Rasa and Melandri!!!!
