  • lol funny ad

  • it wasn´t shot by scorcese but by a company who made low budget commercials at the time.

    true story

  • tommy did it though

  • Funny in his Morrie's commercial, he jumps in the pool with his toupee and it stays on his head but it comes off to tough guy Irish and Italian gangsters roughing him up for cash!!!! Too funny!

  • I would love to see the real Marty Krugman commercial.

  • @clayp72 I think I remember it. There was a commercial that used to come on later night on a local NYC station around 1976-77. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was a tough-talking Jewish looking guy who jumped into a pool, swam across, got out of the water, and said "Hard to believe I'm bald?". The wig he was wearing was gray. The guy sounded like Tony Curtis.

Anyone else from the NYC area know the one I mean?

  • doesnt morrie look like the front of a 1975 ford torino elite?

  • And they're Kosher!!

  • Schlomo from the sopranos

  • The Real Location: Male hair salon and wig shop located beside the Engine 291, Battalion 45 fire station located at 56-07 Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood, Queens called "For Men Only", which was situated several blocks from The Suite.

  • He should have given Conway a split of the Fix money from the BC games.

  • @SilverHammock Yep, "You got money for these stupid fucking commercials, but you don't got money to pay me!"

Why cant they make ads like these nowadays?!

  • I remember a wig commercial in NYC from the 1970's that ran all the time. There was a guy who ran a hand over his head and said "Hard to believe I'm bald?" and went on to demo showering and swimming with it. Can anyone tell me if this was a For Men Only commercial? Comedian Robert Klein used to do a bit about it and joked that it looked like a piece of lettuce on his head.

  • Is there an original Morrie's Wig commercial out there? I'd LOVE to see it!

  • I knew this guy. I was around 10. My father was in the same business ( had 6 locations) and I can tell you he was an idiot.

  • Billy Mays got involved with the mafia.

  • I always liked this character. New Yorkers are funny.

  • Can any1 confirm this 4 me: Some sources (including this "Goodfellas" scene) state that the wig shop was located right next 2 The Suite, both being on Queens Blvd. But my uncle who knew some of the guys says that the wig shop was actually located on Metropolitan Ave in Ridgewood, right next 2 the firehouse, & that The Suite was like 2 blocks away, which would mean that it wasn't on Queens Blvd, cuz Queens Blvd is 7 miles away from Metropolitan Ave.

  • hes weraing eyeliner

  • hahahahahahaha

  • Never thought of standing in a hurricane, but good to know you'll look good....lol funny. The guy who Morry was based on was very smart. Just kept bad company.

  • Not smart enough to avoid the wrong company though.

  • it may be hurricane proof, he says its waterproof, but it defo aint jimmy conway proof

  • @Aztecius What about icepick proof?

  • I love the edit when he jumps into the pool and then all of a sudden he's bone dry....hysterical

  • lol i love this commercial. good to see it

  • Does anybody have an original Martin Krugman commercial? [The real Morrie.] That would be cool to see!

  • i remember the commercial very well, just can't locate a copy..

  • i want a morrie wig!

  • me too. my current wig comes off in hurricane winds.

  • mine comes off underwater :(

  • lolol

  • lolol

  • Its funny cause this brings back alot of memories when i used to live in jersey. All these kinds of commercials would come on all the time. Great movie.

  • Martin Krugmans wig shop was called ''For men only''. My grandpa used to buy wigs from him. I've seen the store now, It closed In the late 70's after Marty was reported missing. I havent seen it in a while, but I heard from my friend that It was some cleaning store. Last time I saw it was Christmas. It was for sale. I honestly would have bought it if I had the money.

  • Can U or any1 confirm this 4 me: Some sources (including this "Goodfellas" scene) state that the wig shop was located right next 2 The Suite, both being on Queens Blvd. But my uncle says that the wig shop was actually located on Metropolitan Ave, right next 2 the firehouse, & that The Suite was like 2 blocks away, which would mean that it wasn't on Queens Blvd, cuz Queens Blvd is 7 miles away from Metropolitan Ave.

  • It was in Queens. I posted this comment so long ago and have no idea what theyre doing with the building now... Like I said, last I heard it was a cleaning store.

  • lol at his hair being dry after jumping in the pool

  • There where alot of goofy commercials back then in NyC. I kind of remember something about wigs. I also remember commercials for fur coats and clothing, things of that nature, so it would not be out of the ordinary for such a commercial.

  • Was there really a maurie? Or a commercial?

  • "Morrie" is based on Martin Krugman; you can read about him on Wikipedia. There were "Marty's wigs" commercials, and personally I'd love to see one posted on Youtube, but I imagine they're extremely rare.

  • Morrie rules!!!

  • I own a Morrie's wig!

  • What? You're joking right?

  • No sir! Got it off of eBay!

  • Wig used in film, or wig from his store?

  • from the film. is there really a store?

  • Yeah, his real name is Marty Krugman though. All the characters in the film were real.

  • "Was" Marty Krugman.

  • oh but there is no morrie's wid place, right?

  • Like I said, Marty's. He was killed, like Morrie, was by Jimmy. And for the same reasons. I read it all in "Wiseguy", the novel the movie was based on. So I doubt Marty's Wiggs is still around, but how am I supposed to know. Marty Kruggman actually did set up Luthansa heist. And was involved in, along with Henry, in the biggest College Points shaving schemes. Marty was a real loser, just like everyone else in the movie and in real life.

  • sorry but i meant is there a "Morrie's Wigs" not marty's. i thought maybe there was a Morrie's wigs since the movie is so popular that someone decided to open up a shop in honor of the film. but there is not one, right?

  • Hey, you never know. But, I doubt it.

  • cool thanks!

  • There really was a store, but it was called "For Men Only".

  • thanks for the info!
