  • What is Sandra saying to Ksenia? Do they even speak a common language?

  • The song matched the choreography and Jian's physique seamlessly. And her smiles were so uplifting;

  • Now if the Chinese would've used people who were actually the legal age to compete, I would've had more respect for them.

  • Does a number really matter when China so obviously whooped our asses? They didn't just execute precise tumbles and flips, they put on a show. They produced art, and that is difficult to do considering gymnastics is a sport based a thousands of technicalities.

  • Awww, Deng Linlin clapping so excitedly everytime Jiang lands well. So cute!

  • Why is everyone hating on America and Alicia. Alicia had a very natural reaction, she was at the Olympics and she messed up. You would be extremely mad with yourself too. And although I do agree China should have won, people are acting as if America did terrible. They had 2 falls, but they were by the same gymnast.

  • Theres no way a girl of 16 years of age would wear those many clips in her hair just tacky lol

  • Obviously you're not friends with many asians.

  • China's victory brought me to tears just now. Even watching long after the real event. The emotion was so tangible. Beautiful.

  • Dear bigsleep32, fuck off redneck american.

  • China totally deserved that gold(:

  • @bigsleep32 Lack of evidence to prove that the Chinese girls were underaged, don't call them cheaters. Their performances that night totally deserved that gold!

  • Be happy that the americans actually medaled instead of not medaling at all. Be happy we medaled in the individual events, and be happy we got the gold and silver for the AA. Alicia was under extreme pressure when she was on the beam. Focus on the positive things. China rightfully got the gold, we rightfully took the silver, and Romania rightfully got the bronze. Sure Alicia messed up, but im just happy we medaled instead of ending up in 4th, 5th etc.

  • the chinese are so cute!!!

  • Woow, The 18,000 audiance went crazy, The sound just awesome, pretty sure this will be most exciting Olympic ever

Chinese girls r amazing, i goona wait to see 2012

  • thank u soo muck for postin the final! IM A HUGE FAN OF THE CHINESE GIRLS!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! Seriously, I've found it hard to find actual footage of the Olympics, most of it seems to be montages. I think that China performed extraordinarily well, regardless of the age problem. The girls earned and deserve that gold. They gave an amazing performance, and although China shouldn't have cheated like that, it doesn't change the fact that they were really great. But everyone was! :)

  • jiang yuyuan is so charismatic, you can just tell she has the whole audience in her hands (:

  • sacaramone blew this for the usa

  • I remeber when I was watching it live on TV back then in 2008 :)...I cried when Cheng Fei hit the last tumble (and im not even chinese) :D...they deserved it for sure...American gymnasts were great, but Chinese were perfect :)

  • @renent81 actually they werent perfect. im pretty sure cheng fei fell off the beam

  • The reason I love this video so much is because Cheng Fei goes last on floor and kind of "seals the deal" of China winning the gold. She redeemed herself after her fall earlier in the competition. She had the performance of a lifetime in her floor routine!

  • I am so happy that the Chinese won - I was crying after Cheng Fei finished her routine.

  • China were an awesome team who deserved to win, the showmanship and team spirit, not to mention the determination of every member was awesome. they worked for that gold with everyfibre of their bean...WELL DONE CHINA. Team USA could learn alot from you...

  • @meeshacm wow fuck off

  • @jerseyguy41ife I won't stoop to your level with the use of language, but you just proved my point!!

  • @meeshacm wow fuck off

  • @meeshacm Yes a awesome team who allegedly used underage gymnast's. The US learned that playing by the rules gets you gold and silver in the individual all around on the host country's home floor. And that you need 3 good gymnasts and not 2 great ones and one that sucked under pressure to win the team tittle. But none of that was learned from the Chinese who run a gymnast breeding program not one where the athlete chooses on their own to strive for improvement to the Olympic level.

  • China for sure deserved gold. They were amazing!

  • I like how Cheng Fei who had the same mistake as Sacramone was able to hold her temper after her fall. She did not throw a tantrum like Sacramone and looked pleasent in her floor routine. She let it lift her up in determination to do better unlike Alicia who let it bring her down and look unhappy during her floor routine. Maybe if she didn't act like a baby after making her mistakes here and at worlds floor final, people from countries besides America would feel bad for her.

  • @blokflip13 Disgusting, vile comment. Seriously. You were not in Sacaramone's shoes, you don't know what she was experiencing. She went into a corner, tried to deal with her emotions in private. Mind your own business, and when you're an athlete athlete (as if!), and performing in front of the world's cameras scrutinizing your every move, then we can pass judgment on what we think you're feeling. Chen delivered an amazing performance--leave it at that and don't be a sore winner.

  • @NYCBlonde Agreed. I love the chinese gymnasts and I'm happy that they won team gold, but the USA gymnasts were great too. I think Sacramone was already 21 years old at that time, and she got injuried, which affected her performance, but she still a powerful, amazing gymnast, she had tried her best to perform well, but just too much pressure put on her. Maybe Sloan can be put on floor, although she got out of bounds in the prelims, her floor routine was great. btw, no one can punish a athlete!

  • @blokflip13 no one cares what you think...

  • @jerseyguy41ife OMG the american team, replying on a daughter of fomer soviet champions to win them a medal ? How bout those blacks? U lucky a number of chinese gymnast underscored, a few mid-teen chinese gymnast showing those elderly americans hows its done !

  • @blokflip13 To be fair Cheng went in knowing her team had a huge lead while Alicia went in while USA was a whole point behing.

  • I don't see what was unfair before.

  • @blokflip13 I just totally agree with u. I'm so happy to see that Chinese gymnastics chose their traditional music on floor and their performance were so contagious. I kind of understand sacramone under that situation, but anyway, it's a team work. She should learn something from Cheng Fei to be a mature competitor.

  • Jiang Yuyuan's spirit, attitude, talent and cuteness makes her amazing. She should have had a higher score.

Cheng Fei's energy, grace and athleticism makes her an all-around gymnast.

  • @joyjinuiuc to bad nastia liukin won:P so HA

  • Luv Jiang's energy, she got a really cute smile :D

  • Nastia Liukin, Jiang Yuyuan and Deng lin lin are my fav's!

  • At 3:03 the host makes a little mistake she says: "She has to plo- proofe it" LOL

  • I love how the people clap along to the beat of the music! Really encourages the first gymnast~!

  • It isn't just difficulty that put China ahead to was the execution.. Their lines, their dance on floor, the way they fly on bars when they really hit there routines. They always should have been up there but had always been error prone and their floor was not so strong. Bars and beam they were always special. They have learned how to do great floor routines. Only Nastia had any kind of cheorograhy on floor for the USA.

  • 4:46-4:48 I felt her passion

  • @dahighbar it gives me chills!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Chinas floor scores were a lil high except for Chengs

  • nastia and jiang are my favorite gymnasts of all time! jiang is adorable! thanks for posting all of these:) when the olympics were live i wasnt too into gymnastics, so i appreciate it ! :)

  • i love how before Cheng Fei's score came up, they all knew that China had won :)

Here I am, watching it for the... 5th i think time... 2.5 years later :)

    thanks for posting... go china

  • thank you very much for posting all these gymnastic vids from 2008, please do the same in 2012 :D xx

  • I think this is a great example to those who are complaining that there is too little "dace" elements in recent floor exercises~ I just love YuYuan's routine, it is just so cute and lively!

  • i adore jiang yuyuans smile <3 its soo contagious! <3 <3 <3

  • I cannot express enough how much I love Cheng Fei's routine.

  • well, just some interesting information. The music that Zhang used in her routine is "lifting up your veil"

the lyrics go like "Lifting up your veil for me, let me see your lovely face. your eyes are round and they shine, just like the full moon in the sky" it is something to be sang during weddings, and is a folk song from an ethical group in China. I really like this song.

  • its fixed i think

  • i think the chinese should be in second caz they don't have a high score of difficulty i feel like im watching them at the trials i mean this is the olympics you have to have a high level of difficulty and so my question is how can the chinese have a fall on beam and a step out of bounds and still keep on top of the united states?

  • @BigThunderFan Do you know what you're saying. China has a higher score of difficulty than the USA team! They only have a fall on beam and they performed well in the floor! Do you know the USA team have a fall on beam and floor, also three step out of bounds! You should go to check your eyes if it have any problems~

  • @iamyukilee china never have as much difficulty as the usa do

  • @BigThunderFan What about the uneven bars and beam? China got one 7.1 and two 7.7 on the uneven bars and a 7.3 on beam! But the USA only got one 7.7, 6.8 and 6.5 on the uneven bars and a 7.0 on beam ! Also, the whole difficulty of China were much higher!

  • @iamyukilee amy chow got a 10.0 on the uneven bars and floor twice so did shannon miller and dominique dawes

  • @BigThunderFan because they succeeded in all other respects.

  • @underscorex5 but they never fight for there landings where as dominique moceanu fights for her landings

  • @BigThunderFan Hm, can you explain what you mean by that?

  • @underscorex5 the usa dont give away any points at all they are known for that and they practice hard all the time

  • @BigThunderFan I'm sorry I'm not convinced. I guess you haven't come across all the information about Chinese children training hard from the age of 4. Agree to disagree then.

  • @underscorex5 but they don't get to go into the olympics till they are a lot taller caz there so short

  • @BigThunderFan I cannot say how amused I am by your comments, "there so short" you are really cute. pat pat

  • @darkangeldt711 im just saying i don't see the difficulty at all like on the usa team

  • @underscorex5 Nastia started training aged 4, so did the majority of the gymnasts... You should look at the videos from Parkettes the American gym, where they have tiny little girls training on broken legs, older girls with back pain.

  • Cheng Fei's routine is one of my fav Olympic moments of all time. It was magnificent!! I love her dance before her last tumbling pass - it looks like she's casting a spell over the floor and the look of determination in her eyes gives me shivers.

I'll never forget it :) What an amazing leader to deal with the pressure of this task - the entire world watching and everything on her shoulders.

AHHHH I just love it! <3 Cheng Fei!!!

  • haha love that smile at the start of Cheng Fei's routine, i bet she is thinking YEEEH WE DID

  • China really deserved the gold. They were so consistent, dynamic, powerful and technical throughout the whole final.

  • @nicki446 China was none of those things. Look at their technique. In gymnastics, it's not WHAT you do but HOW you do it. They may have had big routines, but they performed them sloppily,

  • @K2quared I'm guessing you're an American and still bitter that the USA didn't get the gold? It was a close final, to be sure, but can you really argue that Cheng Fei's floor routine wasn't brilliant, or that Deng Linlin's vault wasn't almost perfect0? I'm not Chinese, but I definitely believe that the Chinese should have won gold. Look at the joy in Cheng Fei's face during her floor, and then try to say that she didn't have power, or strength or technicality.

  • Cheng Fei's performance... Whoa. She really did live it. That was amazing.

  • Even without the falls the us would have lost by a few tenths...

  • thanx 4 posting!!

  • cheng fei overscored. maybe 15.25

  • The Chinese women deserved the gold medal in this Olympics Team final but I must say I have been much more impressed with the Chinese women in the tradition of Ling Jie and gymnast like that I guess nowadays though its about strength and being powerful and in the days of Ling Jie vault & floor always held the Chinese Women back from being champions this is a new brand of Chinese women's gymnastics due to the 3 up 3 count system.....

  • wonderful i'd love to compete hearing that crowd!!!!!!!

  • I feel sorry for russia, i hope they do better in 2012

  • @efrainherrera1 Dont worry! Russia will dominate in 2012! They are the most complete team on every event. USA is behind on bars. Romania is also making a comeback. 2012 should be amazing to see. The best gymnastics since the 80's.

  • Yes for China!

    Congratulations to USA & Romania.

I really I have sympathy for the Russian team.

  • well deserved place in the fx finals

  • this is the last part right?

  • It's so nice to see Cheng Fei smile! :) She is absolutely beautiful.

  • i love the bbc commentators...u can hear the excitement in their voices and their love of the sport

  • China did an excellent job that day, absolutely brilliant. I still sort of wish the USA got it, (being American) but the US made some mistakes and China deserved the gold for their performance that night. But if Chellsie Memmel and Samantha Peszek had not been injured, I still wonder what could have been...

  • i looooove jiang yuyan on floor its so amazing watching her so animated! i als o liked when she gave cheg fei a little fist bump with deng linlin. the chinese team other than the u.s are my favorite team.

  • Thanks for posting Team Final. I've never seen it before... cause of French TV which never shows gymnastics ! :(.

Chinese gymnasts are amazing !!! I'm so happy they won gold ! Love Jiang Yuyuan's floor and smile, Yang Yilin's grace and little Deng Linlin who's so cute.. <3.

American team is great too but a little below Chinese team. But, why Samantha Pezsek is here ? She does not compete...

    Love Shawn and Nastia !

And Poor Ksenia Semenova. I prefer that Russia won the bronze medal.

  • @Luciaellana she only competed on bars because she was injured! =((

I know I'm a little bit late to answer that, but maybe you read this anyway!! ;)

  • @Luciaellana Samantha Pezsek did not compete in team finals, but she was a part of the American team. They bring everyone with, as with every other country, as alternates in case someone gets hurt.

  • @Luciaellana Samantha pezsek got her 20 minutes before the beginning of the team final. It really hurt the American team mentally. And the day before that they had lost another gymnast to an injury.

  • @Luciaellana Sam Pezsek was there because she was on the US team but was injured and was only able to do bars (which she did in qualifying but they didn't use her in the team finals)!!

  • I will never forget this, especially from right after Fei's FX routine; they were there to do a job, and they just did it. It could have turned out either way, but the thing was they did the job whatever ways it could have gone to!! It was like, no regrets!!!

How else would you have lived out your lives???

It's not about what race, what background, what part of the world, or what political party you belong to (that's totally bull!)

It's about how you would express yourselves.

    Being you.

  • i think russia also deserved a medal! i love that team!! but china deserved the gold completely. i really admire the dedication of those girls to gymnastics!

  • "You feel like cheering and clapping yourself...such is the atmosphere, such is the performance!"

God, I just love this commentary.

  • can you post the team final ceremoney please id love to c it thanxxxx

CONGRATS CHINA CANT WAIT TO C U IN LONDON 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How rigorous their training must've been...

  • Cheng Fei's double-double was fantastic!! She even kept her toes pointed!

  • Hope deng linlin is doing AA and beam and floor finals in 2012

she's a great gymnast and will have a chance of getting a medal i think

she's not doing the finals this olympics i think becoz cheng fei is there to have her last olympics so she takes off the ticket to the finals.... sad for linlin...

but happy that CHINA FINALLY WON!!!!

  • i loved cheng fei's floor music and the gymnast b4 her too lol

    WELL DONE CHINA

  • I love the beginning of Jiang Yuyuan's routine. Beautiful.

  • Was Cheng supposed to take out the full on her 3rd pass that she fell on in the finals?

  • Wow I am so happy china won. They deserved it, and delivered beautiful routines throughout the entire competition.

  • if you think about it, it's not surprising that china won considering that they actually used all six gymnasts on their team whereas america didn't exactly have that option

  • I learnt something the other day, most american train all by themselves, but chinese are like families just like the romanian, that's why when it comes to compete as a team they get better chances to suceed.

  • nope....the americans all train together now too at Karolyi's old gym in texas....its now the national training center

  • Karolyi's camp in Texas is now the national training center? And our gymnasts are all training together? From all over United States? Our gymnasts are actually leaving their homes, their families and friends to train? Contributing for the whole...that'd be refreshing. I hope you're not just mouthing off :)

Please share your source of info, K2quared.

  • Yeah....type in gymnastics fluffs and you will see all of the fluffs that tell the story of how the US Gymnastics Association put the program in Marta Karolyi's hands in 2001. That's why its doing so well. All elite gymnasts leave train together 8 days out of each month and the summer break.

  • i think/hope they are!! there was a lot of russian talent in beijing but of course pavlova and semenova were robbed. ever since 1996 i have cheered for russia...their teams consistently had my favorite athletes from each games (i.e. kochetkova, khorkina, produnova, lobaznyuk, pavlova, semenova)

  • what? I'm sorry, why doesn't cheng fei do bars,,, what do you mean by that?

  • This year's Chinese team was very much the Romanian team of last Olympics. I was glad they won

  • This was actually like Atlanta. Home team won with large crowd applause. Plus an American won the beam final and placed second on bars and a bronze floor. Reference to Shannon Miller and Amy Chow and Dominique Dawes.

  • that championship was awesome as well...

  • Jiang has the most beautiful floor ...

    I can't stop watching it...

  • why does he pronounce Jiang Yuyuan's name like "Yang Juyan?"

  • because he's a silly brit who loves the chinese team so much that he can't say their names

  • Because he is pronouncing her first name before her family name. The chinese write their names backwards - family name first.

His problem is that, like most commentators, he is inconsistent. He doesn't call Cheng [family name] Fei [first name] "Fei Cheng" but that's probably because it doesn't roll off the tongue the same way.

Another example: Korean figure skater Kim Yu-Na. Commentators in the West call her Yu-Na Kim, or they alternate between the two.

  • No, I know.

I'm saying that he's mixed up the "J" and "Y" sounds, by saying Yang Juyan instead of Jian Yuyuan

  • Yes it's true, he definitely muddles the pronunciation - whichever name comes first, whichever the gymnast!

  • And he also pronounces Deng Linlin as "Den Lingling" sometimes. It's sort of funny :D

  • I can't help feeling so excited by seeing Cheng Fei's performance, the crowd goes crazy.

  • Go Chinaaaa

  • At this Olympic game team final, Chinese really stands out. Not only they have most difficulties, grace, great form and unbelievable lines, but they also made their routines memorable. On vault, they have Cheng Fei Vault; on bars, they have Kexin with innovative high release moves; on beam, they have Shanshan's signature beam move; and on floor, they have Yuanyuan and Cheng Fei's delightful and theatrical dances with memorable unique music! They deserve the gold!

  • =] thank you for your compliments, i agree with them so much

  • i agree =DD

  • That is the most exact and precise description of what we watched in Beijing Women´s Gymnastics Team Final.

  • Well put.

  • Chinese pride!! <3....Love China! love the gymnasts from there too~ <3 they deserved the gold medal. It suits them well! <3

I wish Cheng Fei just had a decent bar routine! She would be a SERIOUS threat in the All-Around!!

    Still love them all!<3

  • I absolutely LOVE Jiang Yuyuan.. Her smile is just so cute..

  • im both a dancer and a gymnast and although ur supposed to spot in dance u dont hav 2 in gymnastics

  • tumblindrums10: at least we're not stepping out of bounds and getting the red flag. but i agree about the pirouettes.

  • Cheng Fei is amazing. I wish she could have delivered like that in EF...

  • I'm from south american but I wanted the chinese team to win, they did a great job and you can tell their joy when they hear cheng fei' score.

  • Poor Semenova!! she did an amazing job at this olympics and she did not medaled. I hope she return for 2012

  • Good for Japanese girls, 5th place! Best wishes to Russian girls who can give a better performance at next Olympic game.

  • Cneng Fei's floor performance is fantastic! Powerful and theatrical with great form!

  • congrats to team China, wonderfull performance;i always support my romanians but i gotta admit,China and US were great here.

  • thank you for posting all those videos!!

i really loved it and china really deserved it!

aww deng linlin is so cute :)

  • it was obvious the US never had a chance, i dont even know why they bothered going to Beijing if they wanted gold.

  • sure that why they had a competition, and we won the all around title for the second olympics in a row,and last time we both men's and women's

  • so surprising that Japan team placed 5th

  • it is, isn't it? good for them! it's nice to see a relatively 'new' team popping out onto the scene every now and then :)

  • Love u China forever!!! You're the reason that keeps all of us going!!!

  • Tears... I have always loved the Chinese, since Yang Bo, Luo Li, Mo Huilan. I'm so happy that they finally won team GOLD!
